Hello everyone ! I was sleeping yesterday and dreamt of an oscars show for Little Big Planeteers. I mean, if movies can have oscars why can't we? Now, this will be a lot of work for me so I decided to start long in advance with this competition. Here's an explanation: There will be 10 categories where you can compete in. The categories include the following: 1. Level of the Year award this award concerns the best level made last year. 2. Categorie Best Mini Game this award applauds the best mini game level (survival level) in LBP. 3. Categorie Horror this award applauds the most spooky level of last year 4. Categorie SCI FI this award applauds the best science fiction type level 5. Categorie best scene this award is for the level with the most brilliant scene in it. It only concerns one portion of a level, so it is not important if the rest of the level is crap. Just one scene needs to be brilliant. 6. Categorie best feel good level This award is for the level that makes you feel good when playing it. You should feel warm and fuzzy after this. 7. Categorie movie adaptions This award is for the level that re-creates a movie in a perfect way 8. Categorie for the best action packed level The name speaks for itself 9. Categorie for the most helpful member of this community ! This award is meant to give praise to a very special member of lbp central forums. It is intended for someone who helps others where possible, is very active on the forums and shows initiative. 10. Categorie for the best newcomer to this community And finally, this award applauds the best newcomer. Who has been a great addition to this forum and been very active since his registering? And now for the practical part: HOW CAN YOU ENTER: simply post a message in this thread with your levelname and author name and for wich categorie you want to participate. Users can enter with 1 level for each categorie maximum. You can also leave a name for someone if you want him or her to win the best newcomer or most helpful member of this forum. For these 2 person awards you can nominate everyone, even me UPDATE: Judges : Morgana, Joey and myself By the end January I will publish the results with a podium picture of each winning level and even try to put some video on youtube with the results and a nice show around it I'm still thinking about prizes for this award, but expect an update in the near future about this. For the moment, the honour of winning should be sufficient :-) The fun thing about these awards is that you don't have to create a new level to participate, but of course feel free to do so if you want to aim specifically for a categorie. I hope this has a lot of replies because of course I cannot do an oscar show with 50 replies . The judges will consist of a team of 3 people. Myself and 2 others still to determine so, let the entries come and let your voice be heared in the community categories for best newcomer and most helpful member!

Well, we saw how well the other contest went, but this one seems to have a chance. I like that we'd vote as to the best level in each category. I'm not so sure about the best newcomer award, since most of the people here are newcomers with respect to the past year. Also, I might make a suggestion to improve the turnout a bit. Perhaps you could have people nominate other levels from LBPC. This way everyone isn't just nominating themselves... eh? You could always nominate yourself anyways, but I like the idea of nominating others' levels instead. Then, after a certain period of time, you list out the nominees for each category and people can vote based on the nominees. This might be a good idea since it's sometimes tough to remember great levels that you've played and other people's nominations might spark your memory... Thoughts?

Sounds like a pretty fun idea, you should definitly add some more awards like: Best multiplayer level/section, most innovative obstacle/level, most fun/comedy level, best expert level and maybe more.. I hope this is working because it sure is alot of work if many people participate Good luck with the oscars

Thanks! yeah I want everyone to put in levels or inform me which levels they'd like in the categories. Then after two months I'll add up all the entries and make nominees for each categorie. After that everyone can vote for best level in each categorie between the nominees.

1. Level of the Year award This is a hard decision since i am relatively new, but i think i would have to choose the Sack, the Legendary Part 2 by Luos_Desruc. 2. Category best scene Not sure if it was made this year, but if it was then the fake ending scene from Dr_Vab's Unfair Platformer 2. Very good 6. Category best feel good level The Unfair platformer by Dr_Vab (assuming that it was made this year of course) -- If you have a sense of humor, you'll be constantly smiling at the cruel traps set for you at this level! 7. You know rather than judging this I'd like to see what you guys think. Just list them like xkappax, Coxy and RCIX did. I would like to see that over another contest. More folks might post rather than being conscientious objectors to awards as well as more folks might get a mention and spread some warm and fuzzies around a bit. Just seemed quite a few folks got awfully hurt during the Sackies and I would rather not see that happen again for quite some time, if at all.
