Our friend Whaaaaale might not be able to enjoy LittleBigPlanet along with the rest of us if he doesn't manage to sell his Xbox 360 and 3 games on eBay. He's been trying to sell them for only 350$, but with no luck. Well, unfortunately, the Title says it all. I had my Xbox 360 and a few games + accessories up on eBay. All together priced at a whopping 480$s, priced at a great 350$s. A saving of 130$s.

I really don't understand why no one bought my Xbox 360, Everything was priced under new condition, My xbox was priced at 250$, all games were 20$ and the HDMI and Network Adapter Cables ( That AREN'T included with the Xbox ) were priced at 100, usually 130.

So I guess, technically this is my goodbye from this forum. I will occasionally login just to see what everyone is doing and say "hi" to some good friends I made on this community.

Oh and thanks for a wonderful time I had here, I made some good levels with some good people. Unfortunately I won't be there to make the real level, but oh well, I'm glad I gave some ideas and thoughts. Uhm, I don't know about 2. At least 1.

I'd hate for Whaaaaale(is that the right number of "a"s?) to have to miss out on LittleBigPlanet, but I can't buy his stuff from him, either. If there's someone out there who wants to, or is good with eBay, do him a favor and help him out.

Gears of War
Bioshock
and Halo 3. So yes Halo is involved.

I am serious I've never met anyone like this before, my friend says you guys are from another world were everything is nice and colorful. Of course I had pictures, and I think, I might be mistaken, but if your talking about the RRoD ( Red Ring of Death ) I have the 2008 edition, bought my Xbox in February. So I don't think it would RRoD, if it was kept in a proper spot, with good circulation. Mine is in excellent condition, and I'm kind of rambling off so I'm going to stop. Thanks for the concern everyone!

EDIT : I just recently re-listed it on eBay, I am seriously giving this a 4th shot. Just shows how bad I want a ps3/LBP. So let's all pray and hope everything goes down smoothly. Smoothies!		2008-09-22 05:55:00

I'm gonna have to be THE ENFORCER!! I've used eBay a lot to get the money to buy a 360, an iPhone and a PS3 (the two last ones I got this summer) and I want to help you out. The following may sound rude/mean but I'm just trying to be realistic and I'm basing this off of experience.

Why would you leave the site? I didn't have PS3 for the first month I was on here. I'm just gonna say it but that is way overpriced for eBay. Guess who on there looking for 360's and PS3's right now. Parents. They (usually) don't know if you have the GREATEST collection of Xbox games. If youre charging 30 bucks for each, it adds up to too much. Look at the individual prices of each game and peice of hardware and what they sold for then add them into your bundle for a little less. Doing this you may not get every cent you need, but you WILL sell it.

ALSO - Dont have a starting bid that high. Its discouraging.		2008-09-22 12:23:00

I'll back up Midget on this. A high starting bid is BAD for two reasons.

1. It costs you more (or it did, I haven't checked out the pricing structure for a while)

2. It really does discourage people. Most people would rather bid on something at $20 dollars with 4 bids than $18 with none. No bids at all makes (subconciously) people think that there is a reason no one has bid, and some will not even bother opening the auction. (Personal experience having sold a lot of stuff a long while ago and after speaking to a lot of users over time)		2008-09-22 12:44:00

Good luck with selling your Xbox and all but I'm sorry personally I hardly think this thread is important enough to make us have to view the thread when we visit the site, I thought you were only going to use the feature for important news regarding the site?

Sorry to be a kill joy but forcing me to read it for a second time when I had already read it doesn't make me want to buy his Xbox anymore than I didn't want to buy it the first time I read the thread.

I would actually love to help out, I want to eventually play Halo and gears, if only to see what all the hype is about. BUT 1) I don't have that kind of cash right now and 2) I'll buy a PSP, DUALSHOCK3 Keypad, PS3 Headset, and another DUALSHOCK3 before I get a second console. I'm all about getting the full experience out of my PS3

Sooo, what I'm saying is I'm sure there is someone out there (maybe Miffy!^) who will want it, just take the advice given above and play with the price. Start the bid at the lowest possible price you would accept (as in less than what you want) and you'll probably end up with more than that as people will start to bid! So good luck my friend! Hope you get your PS3!

I noticed in your auction you mentioned that you were trying to buy a PS3, BIG NO-NO! Never say anything like that when trying to sell something. Ok I've brought the bid down to starting bid of 300 ( I think thats an amazing deal btw. ) If this doesn't work, on wednesday I will bring the price down to 250!!!! I mean 250 is a price of a new 20 Gig Xbox, Mine comes with 150 dollars worth of accessories and games. If no one bids at 250, I don't know what is wrong with the world.

And as for you Miffy, I really appreciate you being interested in my Xbox, but I'm afraid that it would be region locked, since you live in the UK. And I live in the US. Oh btw, you live in WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALES, so your pretty awesome.

Anyways thanks for everything guys, I'm going to post it for 250 on Wednesday, thats the lowest I'm going because that really is the best bargain you can get for an xbox with all the stuff I'm giving away. No idea how old you are, but I've had great luck with listing things on my bulletin board where I work. People seem to be more apt to buy on a whim when there just browsing as opposing to looking for a cheap system on Ebay. Umm, well, me and my little brother used to share an Xbox 360. When we both got our seperate rooms, I had to buy the Xbox 360 with my own money, bought myself a new Hp computer, and a 37" LCD Tv. So with that being said, I became horribly broke after that. All I have on me is 60$'s and as for talking about Gamestop last night, I did talk to them today. I'm going to ask my dad if we can go there to see what they will give me for everything. Supposedly, asking on the phone would be against the law because it would act like a pawn shop.

They aren't telling me what to do. They stated their opinion, which convinced me that I made a mistake. I apologized and fixed the problem. I'm not here to be the de facto leader, and neither is any other staff member. We're here to make sure people are as happy as possible, while still keeping things in some sort of order. Sometimes that means we have to make executive decisions, even if the majority disagrees with us, but this isn't one of those times.

What the hell would they want with a 360? I'm trying to sell it for 300, and I could get around 100 dollars minimum for my birthday, highest ive ever got was around 300 dollars. No, I mean, I NEED at least 270 from the xbox it's self, the PS3 Costs 400, I have 60 with me, I'll get a load of money on my birthday, but I'm aiming for getting a PS3 before LBP comes out, the worry is not about the PS3 because I know I can get that after November 14 ( Birthday )

As I said earlier in this thread, anyone trying to sell a console with games is going to most likely have the best luck when they're trying to sell to people that aren't necessarily out to acquire a console. The problem with Ebay is that everyone's out to get the best deal. That's all fine and dandy, but it's going to mean that the seller usually will have to sacrifice a greater return in order to sell the item.

However, if you can reach a group of people that aren't expecting to get this "deal of a lifetime" you guys are offering, you can usually get your asking price. I'd suggest making up fliers and sending them with mom and/or dad to hang up around their places of work or do that yourself if you have a job. Seek out bulletin boards all over whether it be a church or general hangout. All in all, someone's going to want to take you up on your offer and - hopefully - will be willing to pay closer to face-value for your goods than a buyer on Ebay.

Just my two cents; I really want this to work out for you guys. Anyone who is making a valiant effort at doing something deserves whatever extra help we can provide. Keep us posted on how this goes. Plenty of time to sell your systems and get a PS3 before LBP hits shelves. Patience is key; you don't want to sell too cheap and wind up still being short on release date...		2008-09-25 13:46:00

That would help, but it would take seriously too much time and effort, + The only video recorder I have is some high-tech gizmo, and it would take years to format it, into something small that Youtube can handle, because its high tech. The lazy pieces of *** at eBay are too lazy to do it. I have to fax them a ton of my info, wait 7-10 days for them to read it, and decide whether it should be reinstated or not.

Well, hackers usually "buy" items.

But since I recently relisted the item with an "only bidding" option. There's a slimmer chance for hackers, I doubt there is any hackers doing it actually, I'm pretty sure more then 2 people will bid on the last day, and if the winning bidder is indeed a hacker, I can put up a "second-chance offer" meaning I can sell it to the other bidders.		2008-09-28 04:50:00

Oh and about that "Buy It Now" thing.

I did that about 6 out of the 7 times I put it up.

And out of those 6 times, all six were Nigerian Scammers. So I just put a bid only option on it, kind of rules out any Nigerian Scammers, hopefully

They're not really Nigerian, they just put up a fake address. And they would make up a fake Paypal format or eBay format, email you saying they paid but Paypal has a new "system"

The email would say like, Paypal has taken new heights for safety, so with this being said, we have the money in our blah blah account, we need you to verify that you have shipped it by sending us the tracking number ( the only way to get that is by shipping it )

I almost fell for it the first time, but my dad thought it was suspicious so we called Paypal and they confirmed it was fake.

It's happened to me 10 or so times now.

What's funny is, I put my listing for USA only, so how the hell do these Nigerians find it? I swear scammers get dumber and dumber everyday, not to mention the horrible spelling and punctuation on the emails...

I don't think you get what I meant, the scammer doesn't email me, he uses a fake eBay format, and pretends he's eBay. And eBay, being a professional/serious company, does not type errors or typos.

Same with paypal, that's always a good way to know if they're scamming you, if they mispell words....

The price u wanted to get first was a bit high i think... only modded 360s with games generally sell at this price.

Concerning ps3s, u probably got bad experiences with ur 360 (i bought one 2 weeks ago and i m gonna change it for the third time HDMI pb in the whole package of the store) but the ps3s failure rate is extremly low (lot less than 10% 4 the ps3, ~30% 4 the 360) so its rare -or bad luck- to buy a ps3 not working.
