Green Day

Archive: 12 posts

So this is a thread all about Green Day. I know a lot of people have been saying that their new album is awful, but really, it's not, it's just not as good as their others. 21 guns is a masterpiece, as are one or two others on 21st Century Breakdown (the title track is good too).

I must say, I just saw them live at the NEC, in fact I only just got back, and they were the best band I've seen live.

They got three volunteers, a bassist a drummer and a guitarist to come up and play in their stead with the singer, and both the drummer and the guitarist did goddam solos! They had t-shirt guns, water pistols, toilet paper firers, pyrotechnics, fancy dress, solo songs by billy joe armstrong, they got his son on stage and sacrificed him, they got about four guys to crowd surf, pretended to strip, did songs by ozzy and a set of sing a longs while lying down, they had a saxophonist who dressed up as michael jackson and did some solos, they had fireworks, they played some of their old classics as well as the new stuff, tr? cool used about 100 drumsticks, throwing one away every song, and threw them all into the crowd at once, played guitar behind their backs...and don't even get me started on how well they played!

So yeah, anyone else seen green day live? Thoughts on their songs?

I could have gone to see them on Saturday. Infact, i have 2 spare tickets for them at the MEN. But i'm staying home. Instead, i'm going to see Taste of Chaos (In Flames, Killswitch Engage + 6 support acts) and Trivium ...

Glad you enjoyed it though....

I could've guessed you were more a heavy metal fan xD They had a band called Prima Donna supporting, who were a bowl full of tripe, and when Green Day were like "Give it up for Prima Donna!" and everyone was silent 2009-10-28 13:35:00

I'm selling my signed Green Day photo, along with the Bullet In A Bible CD/DVD, on eBay! PM me if you're interested.

Green Day were the first band I liked, but I soon moved from punk rock to hard rock to metal.

Leather, it's not all too different, but a lot of the songs are very similar. Go listen to Do you Know Your Enemy, 21 Guns, and 21st Century Breakdown, those are the most unique (lol) of the album.2009-10-28 15:05:00

I saw Green Day when they came down to Miami just after American Idiot came out. They selected three crowd members then too. Really good live show, but not the best I've seen. Not into most of the new album, but East Jesus Nowhere is awesome.2009-11-06 00:54:00
