What Did You Dream About Last Night?

Archive: 557 posts

Well, lets hear it. Remember to keep it clean though. Nobody wants to hear about your private state of mind!

I had some crazy stuff going on in my head last night.

I was in my old High School when a madman with a gun came asking if anybody knew who my cousin was. I stayed quiet, even though i knew he was looking for me. He then said he's shoot someone if no one said anything. I pulled out a sniper rifle that had the scope of the Battlefield 1943 rifle and took him out. I was a hero, i then proceeded to go back to my manor and drink scotch in front of a fire. Then, for reasons i cannot explain, the entire cast of Scrubs entered the room and Dr Cox was shouting for everyone to take their clothes off. lol. I then woke up...............dont ask

Don't remember exactly, but it ended with Joy Division's song "Digital" playing in the background...

That song plays as my alarm.

Sounds like a great way to wake up!

It's somewhat of an abrupt awakening, but it's not as crazy as it sounds. Was getting up to The Beatles "A Day in the Life" for the longest time and it took forever to find a replacement. "Digital" was a great answer.

I had a dream where I went to a funeral for my girlfriend's grandfather. It was in Victoria, BC, only the land was Texas land. An arid, flat wasteland.

The deceased's brother kept the corpse with him constantly during the after-gathering. At one point he had me rummage in a giant pile of his stuff for the body, and I finally found it and dumped it in his lap (he was sitting on an old couch outside). He set the corpse up to sit next to him on the couch, and talked to it. I remember thinking, this is really twisted. I've got to get out of here.

My girlfriend's dad then got in a pickup truck and pulled up near us, and she was a little girl now. I watched her, now 5 years old, climb into the back of the pickup and drive off away from me.

I actually REMEMBERED last night's dream! Most of the time I forget my dreams. Sometimes I wake up from them in the middle of the night and write them down in chicken-scratch, and then read them later in abject confusion and terror. Jesus, I should dig THAT thing out if you want some crazy tales!

Okay then. Let's get this party started. I won't flood you folks with too many at once. A little bit at a time is probably still too much.

STORY TIME!!

One disclaimer: These are literally written in the MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT, upon waking up immediately from a dream. They're very stream-of-conscious, and often I'm not even fully awake as I write them. i rarely remember writing any of this stuff. The prose is unusual.

If you have any questions, I will likely not know the answers!

-----

On the moon. They moved our house onto the moon. My mom was already there, a scientist. When I arrived with my sister and dad, it seemed haunted. Terrifying. But it was safe. Learning to live - outside it was always windy, stormy. Foggy at night, but still. Collin came to visit, and others. The house filled up really fast. Christmas time.
Shopping in empty stores for board games. The beds situation. The restaurant.
Streets on the moon are quiet.

-----

Like Dark City, but not so dark. I had to get my blood taken - They took too much and it overflowed. This was high up in a government building.

On the streets was rampant poverty. I had a task: Gather a specific group of children and women for a street choir. Set them up. Old woman warns that we should cover our ears very tightly should we want to keep our veins closed.

The creator of the city was destroyed by a chosen revolutionary, who began to remake the city. This drained him, and he had little time to get back to where he needed to be. The city now looked like it was being drawn in ink. They were looking for a leader. They didn't know that their leader would cause much of them to die. The government building looked like newspaper. On the horizon was dawn and the colossus was coming.

EDIT: I'm skipping some of the more intense ones for now, but I might post them later if people are interested in hearing awful nightmares.

Awesome idea on keeping a little journal for your forgotten dreams though! I might have to start one myself!

Woo, im going to bed now, fully looking foreword to my dream! Y'know i read somewhere that you only remember a dream if you wake up before its finished, but i ask, do any dreams actually finish?

I'm bringing this thread back! LIVE!!

I had an INCREDIBLY vivid dream last night which I will carry with me for some time. It's going to seem like utter nonsense, but it was indelible to me.

lately I've been in the depths of moving-out stress. the life I've built in this apartment over the last half a decade in pieces and boxes, a million errands a day, etc. All while trying to keep up a regular job no less.

So last night was a very calm, very strange little dream that has managed to define my mood about the entire thing, to eliminate much of the stress and remind me what's really going on. In a very weird dream-way.

I'm paying a visit to the new house to pick up the keys the landlord said he'd leave in the mailbox. I'm hearing The Smiths - There is a Light That Never Goes Out playing from somewhere - the landlord's behind a fence working on the house, hammering away. I decide to avoid him, sneaking around the front and grabbing the keys clandestinely. From the back of the house, amidst power drills and the sounds of nails being hammered: "To die by your side, such a heavenly way to die..."

I notice that the renovations he's doing are part of a huge project on the entire street. Every house is in some stage of renovation. Some are just husks, some have massive gashes in them, fluffy insulated guts spilling out. There are backhoes, bulldozers, construction cranes.

One, near my new place, catches my eye. A large red construction crane with a MASSIVE cab, big enough to live in. It's about 6 stories off the ground.

And I go back home. But what happens next I don't quite remember. What I do remember is waking up.

I woke up and heard faintly Fiona Apple's delirious cover of "Across the Universe". I was in a sea of blankets and pillows. I heard the soft patter of rain on windows and roofs. An early morning's pale grey-green light through wet windows. I was sleeping on the floor on a million blankets, along with a huge number of other people. I was the only one awake. But I had been sleeping among many people, all sound asleep on this huge padded floor. And then I realized - i was in the cab of the huge red crane. I rolled over on my belly and looked out the large window on the front, and I could see the entire length of the crane arm extended outward - and it was slowly rotating - and the crane also seemed to be moving down a big highway.

I got the sensation that this was everyone going through a change in their lives, everyone making a move and all slightly uncertain if the right choice is being made. Out the window, the horizon, the green clouds, the rainy wet trees all slowly spinning as our crane rotates. It occasionally tore down trees and ripped down more houses along the highway. It carried pieces to other locations. It tore down, it built, it tore, it built. Slowly. Moving. As everyone slept.

That's pretty much it. I believe I just sat there and watched out the window on this early green morning, listening to Across the Universe and the rain, and feeling not quite alone, feeling excited about being on the road. All of us in the same boat: the big red crane.

So wow, talk about imagery. It's not terribly hard to break this dream down into components and see where everything comes from and what it all means (it's about christmas, and the crane symbolizes santa). But I found it particularly interesting that it had such a clear soundtrack as well, that's not terribly common in my dreams.

That is really strange

My dream last night was kind of random... It was about this girl that is one of my classes (not one that I have a crush on...) and she got moved into all of my classes and I was like what the heck. Then later on in the dream my principle told me that I have been going to the wrong classes all semester and will need to go to summer school to receive all of my credits

THEN my crush started talking to me (in my dream) and she explained to me in great detail that she was once a man.

I believed everything and woke up completely freaked out. It actually took me 10 minutes to realize it was a dream -___-

It was something about hiding in a closet with some pig guy chasing me. I couldn't step on any glass or he would find me. I went out of the closet and I was in my house. Then I woke up.

Enough horror video games for me.
Or watching videos of those games.

The last dream i had was something to do with me being with my dad and some other guys.

The only part that i remember at the moment was our little group sitting in a boat at night watching this really nice looking harbour which had really bright lights glistening over the water and there was complete silence.

There was quite a spooky atmosphere though and we knew there was some sort of threat in the water so we tried to get to the harbour quickly. Then i think zombies or something attacked the boat and we all jumped out and grabbed hold of these glowing buoy type things.
For some reason grabbing these let us run really easily across the surface of the water so we just took one with us and got to the harbour quickly

Then we were exploring this 'huge city' near the harbour and it was like the most picturesque place ever at night. For some reason i kept calling it London but it had these really nice cottage type things for buildings and cobbled roads, kind of like an old-fashioned village but with street lights, and everywhere was completly empty and silent apart from the wind and birds. It was really peaceful and kind of reminded me of Traverse Town from KH

I remember feeling like a real friendshipy type thing with my dad too which is something i've never really had in real life, was kind of nice

Sadly i woke up soon after for whatever reason, the first thing i thought when i woke up was "i really want to go to London now!" but then i remembered the real thing was completely different xD

I like to go into detail when writing about my dreams, the stuff in this post was only the last few minutes

I had a pretty detailed dream not too long ago. Maybe a week. It was really kind of weird though, because the whole dream was completely in third person.

Anyways, so the dream starts off with me sleeping. All of the sudden, my brother busts into my room, yelling at me to wake up and get ready, or we'll be late.

So i get out of bed, and throw on some clean clothes. Me and my brother walk down the street to a local pizza place. This is kind of weird, because i live in a neighborhood type thing, and that particular pizza place would easily be a fifteen minute walk, not the two minutes it took us to get there in the dream.

When we got there, everyone else in the town was there. I mean EVERYONE. The inside of this place was HUGE for some reason. There were people as far as you could see.
Confused, i ask my brother why we are there, but he doesn't answer.
Then the waiters and waitresses start going around passing out pizza.

And then i realized... We were trying to break the world record of the most pizzas eaten by a group of people in one hour.

No, i don't know if we beat the record. I unfortunately woke up before I even got to take a bite.

@ Teebonsey - love your dreams - more please

Most of my dreams involve either some kind of conflict (usually of the supernatural or alien kind) or dreams of metamorphasis where you start out as one thing but end up as something else. These two themes sometimes merge or overlap but one or the other is usually present in the dreams I can recall.

I have recurring ones too. Two from when I was a child that continue to come back. One involves a house. A very large house and every time I have the dream the house is the same. The people in it are different though. There's a huge party going on with lots of music and dancing and there are way too many people in the house for my comfort. I don't know why but I keep searching for someone at the party. I never find them but I always end up on this staircase with a weird geometric wall next to it and then I wake up.

The other dream I have - thankfully not very often anymore - is the only dream I've ever classified as a nightmare in my world. I love scary dreams and supernatural ones so those aren't terrifying but to me this one is. I'm submerged in water. I'm not drowning and not wearing scuba gear, I just know the water won't do me any harm. It's dimly lit. I seem to be the one putting the light out there as it surrounds me but it doesn't go very far out into the water. So the blue water closest to me fades and darkens to a grayish blue then a hazy dark blue then to black. Off in the hazy dark blue to black area I can just make out movement. It moves all around me sometimes visible sometimes hidden in the darkness. Then a quick flash of movement comes right at my face and I jolt awake. I have a horrible time dealing with sharks so I've dubbed this one my Shark nightmare.

Wow! I've always been fascinated by recurring dreams. These important places our minds continue to take us - it's like the places really exist, and we're temporarily able to visit them while asleep. Yours are particularly rich in psychological imagery! Floating alone in a black abyss, with some menacing unknown thing hunting you. And lost in a house, alone amongst so many people.

I haven't had a recurring dream in a long time, but as a child I had quite a few. Most of them quite unpleasant.

One is perhaps my earliest memory. This is a classic child's nightmare. It's basically a nightmare of the "boogeyman". In it, I'm in bed. Everything is normal and real and mundane, it's the middle of the night, and dark, and so I'm terrified. I can hear and sense a terrible thing coming for me. It's in the house. I don't know what to do, so I hide under the covers. I hear it stomping slowly down the hallway toward me, and breathing. The door creaks open and it enters. The breathing is so clear and so loud. I'm so terrified at this point, and so sure it's going to catch me, that I shut off all my senses - I shut my eyes and plug my ears and go to a quiet place. Then the monster strikes - and usually this would result in my waking into a paralysis.

Another recurring dream I had as a child was of my death. The mode of death was always different, sometimes wildly absurd. In one I remember vividly, I went to our receiver to turn up the volume for the record player. The volume dial is shaped like the state of Texas. I turn it up, but instantly a horror sets in as I realize I turned it up too far - the noise has killed me.
What happens next is the recurring part - it's like my soul is ripped from my body and jolts like lightning straight to the moon. It is grey and desolate, and either my whole body or just my head (like an ostrich) is buried inside the moon, too deep for me to wriggle free. I am trapped. And again, I wake up here paralyzed. This became an ongoing joke amongst me and my family when I was a wee one: "I'll kill you and you'll go FLYING to the moon!"

And finally, one other recurring dream (or motif) is of a more pleasant, although very personal nature. It's always meant a lot to me. But a small, entirely intelligent and self-aware Flying Machine appears, like a sentinel or a watcher. It's similar to da Vinci's flying machine, but more complex, imagine an amalgam of all of his flying machine designs, with bat-like wings being a prominent feature. There is a mystery about it that feels ancient. It hovers, flying over me, watching me, like a guardian angel. I'm not the tattoo-getting sort, but if I ever do take the plunge and get a tattoo, this is perhaps one of the only things I'd be comfortable with tattooing on my body. It's something that for me will always have significance. It's interesting that if I was a religious person, there'd be no doubt in my mind that I would sense Jesus/Yahweh/Allah in this machine. But as I'm not religious, instead it's of a far more mysterious and personal nature, some part of myself, or perhaps simply a benevolent sense of mystery, the idea that the unknown houses some kindness.

I used to be able to control my dreams, I would be in it then suddenly become aware, then the challenge came, once aware i had to trick my mind into thinking i wasn't because if i came totally aware everything would fade to black and i would wake up. But they several times i managed control I would do horrible things, usually involving giving myself demonic destructive power so that i could crush anything by just reaching out and clenching my fist and end up crushing a tower from a distance like a soda can. Probably the best time ive ever had but it never lasted long and now i don't dream too much, when i do it gets trippy.

My childhood dreams where always very short episodes of crazy things that somehow all meshed together to lead to the next 7 second episode. Usually the chain would end with me falling into water. One time the surface was covered with plastic colorful balls from a ball pit and i was running from Cruela Devil and i kept jumping across stones to get away and when i hit the last one in the center i slipped then watched the surface get farther. Another time it ended with me swinging from a very high rope connected to who knows what in the sky and just barely clearing a fence into a nearby storm drain and sink just like in the other one even though the water is hardly enough to drink from. The same thing would happen after the water though. I would sink and it would go black then i would some how be floating down back first from the sky looking around at the stars and no matter how i wiggled i floated the same slow pace, magically through my houses roof, then the ceiling of my room, through the sheets then BAM wake up in the exact same position but now in reality.

My what a rant

To dream that you are searching for something, signifies the need to find something that is missing or needed in your life. You may be searching for a solution to a problem.
So there you have it Morgana - you are searching for something in life. I have no idea what though

I had this freaky one. So can anyone tell me what it is? Here's what happens:

I have this dream, about me in bed. The thing is, in my dreams, I hear a moan and/or I feel like something is grabbing my neck. Call me crazy, but I experience this dream more than once, almost on a daily bases. I somehow find a way to dream of something else though, but I can't stop dreaming of that freaky dream first. The part that scares me is that when I wake up in the morning, or at night, me neck feels like it was touched. Maybe my mind is playing this trick on me, but I'm not sure.

Well, with that said, I feel a little good from that. Still, any ideas on this?

To dream that you or someone else is being strangled, denotes that you are repressing or denying a vital aspect of your expression. When was the last time you were in create mode? Perhaps your dreams are telling you to make a new level. :-)

Well thanks for that, but this is more of a creepy thing. I don't feel like being strangled, I feel like someone is holding my neck, like a taunt. The moan is sometimes a scream, and I see a white figure. So I either have a problem in me, like regret or something, or I have a ghost in my house. Ya, I know.

Oh man I had the most terrible nightmare last night! This was the first time that I have dreamt in quite a while. Shame it was a dream that will be haunting my thoughts for the rest of my life.

It started off with me playing on LittleBigPlanet and I had finally finished my current project (which I have spent about 60 hours on so far). It was all ready to be published, I just needed to fix a few little annoyances within the level. I turned off the PS3 because I went downstairs to get some dinner, it was quite a nice dinner actually; everything was going fine in this dream until I went back upstairs to turn my PS3 back on, guess what happened.... YLOD!

I was so relieved when I woke up and realised that it was a dream.

Omg, you totally made me laugh out loud. My co-workers think I've gone crazy now, lol. Anyway, I hope it's just a figment of your imagination and not a real apparition. Ghosts give me the heebie-jeebies.

My dreams are completely random...
Something I get a lot is that I dream that something really awesome happened, then I wake up and it's a Monday morning :/

I don't know why but I keep searching for someone at the party. I never find them but I always end up on this staircase with a weird geometric wall next to it and then I wake up.

There is a grabby in the geometric wall... once you have that done, you can continue in the level.

Sorry!!! I couldn't resist!

As far as myself, I really don't dream that much. I think I conjure up so much weirdness while I am awake that I sleep pretty soundly.

Ok I'm back with another dream. This one was pretty outrageous. On to the dream...

I was taking a dump and a noticed a little thing moving in my vent. I got a bit freaked but thought I was hallucinating. Then, the same thing happened but the vent fell off when the movement occurred. I was like WTF and I ran out of the bathroom (i hadn't washed my hands or... yeah). Then this little thing that resembled a friend from school attacked my leg. The police arrived just in time and shot it 932809285058 times. Unfortunately, they shot parts of my leg off.

When I woke up I had an extreme pain in my leg and was like NOOOOO! But i realized it was cause i had kicked my bedpost.

Yeah.

It's wierd, because there was a blackout the whole night and I didnt even notice til' this morning.

The scariest dream I ever had was pathetic lol. A yo-yo was possesed, and it kept moving on it's own, sticking to walls, and dissapearing. I put it in a box, and when I came back, the box was open and it was sitting on the table. Later, I was playing with it and it flung off my hand and broke the TV. In my dream, my dad was there, and he was scared, which made me twice as scared lol. It started strangling me and hissing, and I woke up. I was 7 lol.2009-11-27 00:44:00

This is pretty tripped out. I had kind of a similar dream experience. There was a point in my life where I worked a graveyard shift and found myself more than a little sleep deprived at a few points. One of these times I was in a similar situation - only this part wasn't a dream, I was actually in the can, sitting patiently. As I sat there I began to doze off to the sound of the bathroom vent whirring.

Before long the sound of the vent began to take some form, and the next thing I know I snap awake as I realize that I've been having a conversation with the freaking bathroom vent.

To this day I don't remember what was discussed. I have a feeling it was friendly, probably polite. No potty language.

I had some crazy dream 2 nights ago. I was in some really hi tech/laboratory place, and as i entered a room a phone rang. The man on the end of the phone told me i was in for something cruel.
I said"What?"
He said "Phone up the vet and neuter your cat!"
I said "Ummm, ok then'

Then a man came in the door, looking as if he had walked into the wrong room, and i ran out of the door. Then woke up. Lol crazy stuff.

This thread idea is brilliant, some of these dreams could make some pretty decent mini LBP levels.

Ok, last night i dreamed about something but all i can remember is that I was jumping on a trampoline. Then, when I was about to get off I decided I'd get off with a last jump off the trampoline. I missed the floor and fell on my coccyx which broke.

Haha that's all for today's dream.

Couple of dreams last night:

In one, I had seen Avatar. I had seen it, but when I tried to remember anything from it, I couldn't. I couldn't remember a thing. This was a deep disappointment to me, because it could only mean it was a humdrum, forgettable movie.

In the other, I was exploring the Rama spacecraft (I should mention that I have read the first two books only). While on the craft, the Ramans themselves suddenly showed up, pouring out of the walls. They looked like pretty generic aliens (small bodies, big heads and eyes), and this too was a disappointment. I also remember recalling that this craft, Rama, was actually their capital and there was no home planet. This, too, was a major disappointment.

That's it. 2 incredibly mundane dreams of disappointment.

The other night I had a dream where the world was being attacked by aliens. It was ridiculous, but genuinely really scary as basically everyone died.

And last night I think I had a Team Fortress 2 dream LOL.

In one dream I was with my ex girlfriend at my friends house. Then I learned they were moving to West Virgina. I hate dreaming about her, it makes me so depressed.

Another dream I was walking down the street and I saw a huge UFO. Then it turned into a ball of light and flew into my house. I went inside and saw these aliens with big faces. Then the neighbors and my Mom came, and I had to explain to them that the aliens were friendly. I told them not to believe what they've seen in movies.

Very much so indeed! You should have seen the level I made back in the original LBP beta. I hope to remake it anew someday, likely as my last level.

The moon's magical. I've always wanted to have a shack up there. A tiny little wooden house to live in, with a tiny little yellow light glowing inside a tiny little window.

I have an obsession with the cosmos, and the moon being the first celestial body on our doorstep, it sort of represents, in a way, everything beyond. It's close enough that we've managed to understand it to some degree, and its secrets continue to astonish us. I'm sure i mentioned my old recurring dreams where I'd die and fly to the moon (usually INTO the moon, very unpleasant).

I'm also obsessed with the period of early cinema and the late 19th and early 20th century. Milies' Le Voyage dans la lune is one of my favorite all-time movies, and probably cinema's very first astonishing spectacle of a movie. Avatar is a direct descendent, and this is one of the reasons I love it. Hell, both tell the same story: man travels to the moon, discovers danger, and has an adventure.

Last night's dream? I was being attacked by disgusting spiders and tarantulas, and the only way to get rid of them was to eat them, or at the very least chew them up and then spit them out. I did not have a good time.

1. After seeing 2012, i had a dream where I lived in those mountain tops like the one where the waves smashed through. I woke up in the dream and looked outside, and saw the ocean

2. I had a dream that a valuable family member died. Twas stressful.

3. I had a dream I was running away from something, tripped, then woke up by throwing myself forward like a sudden jolt. It was coool

Okay, so here we go. I've got a big one, and coming off of Jagrevi's previous comment, this might be pretty hilarious.

the dream was terrifying though. It woke me up, nightmare-style, and as I stayed up to write it out, I was more than a little jumpy. gonna be a long one, so here we go:

I dreamed that I was a NASA astronaut. quite by chance, maybe accident. I was some kind of backup that ended up getting this mission to the moon. Only two astronauts on this one - myself and my lady Julie. And yes, for some reason, the "this is a dream" alarm didn't sound.

The interior of the command module was quite different than the historical ones. To get in, there was a tiny corridor (you had to duck to fit in) that snaked in u-turns a couple times before you reached a tiny little hole you would squeeze through to get into the command module, which itself was quite like a miniscule living room. there was a column going up the middle of this "room" out of the floor, like a hearth or small chimney. There was a large screen up on the wall which was part of our radio contact with houston. very small windows with which to view the cosmos. access to the LM, much like the real deal, was straight up, following the "chimney" into the next "room".

We had a stereo system with a remote control that we could use to play music, but it was over the same system as houston's mission control, which we accessed using a cordless phone.

We had been in space for some time, and zero gravity never quite kicked in. contact with houston was fine, and there was even some small talk with mission control.

After a while, however, I felt like we should have reached the moon ten times over, it was taking so long, and the lack of zero g in space was unnerving to say the least. I radioed houston to get data on this. The capcom I was in touch with started becoming audibly freaked out. Something seemed to frankly scare him. "We'll look into it.... oh no... oh no, oh no, oh no... you're way off target, Odyssey. You're way, WAY off target..."

At this point I started to really get nervous. It's unheard of for a capcom to lose it like that. but I remembered apollo 13 and I had confidence in the flight controllers to get us back on track. There was some time spent at houston discussing it amongst themselves. eventually it got back to us: "odyssey, you're so off course and have burned so much fuel we're half tempted to just change the mission and see what's out here... give us a bit more time, okay?" This comment about "seeing what was out there" came across like a light-hearted joke, but more gallows humor than anything. There was a quiver in his voice and a forced chuckle. He was trying to set me at ease, but it wasn't working. We were floating out into space somewhere, and I had no idea where. I couldn't spot the moon or even earth out of the capsule windows.

So we waited. During this time I had some major difficulties with the radio and music system. the music was too loud, and houston wasn't coming over the speakers like I wanted. I had to use the phone, so only I could hear houston from this point out, and the **** music was too loud it was sometimes hard to hear them. I spent a lot of chatter time just asking houston to give me "testings" as I messed with the system.

Eventually houston talked to me - over the single phone handset, just to me: "so you're about to head through Hades Gate. It's an area of deep space between pulsars. If you go through that gate, you're going to be hit by massive amounts of gamma radiation. but we know where you are. you have to set your coordinates to star 67A on your charts and then initiate a full lunar trajectory burn." I started reading these out to Julie so she could write them down, as the stellar navigation was her department. "You're way out there, you're in deep space. I tell you, you ended up on a perfectly opposite path - it's an exact inverse of the zone you're supposed to be on, except you just kept on going. Beyond the hades gate, there's something... we don't know what it is. some sort of irregular mass on our radars, we have no idea what it is, but it's better you two don't find out." Around this time an image was broadcast to me. it was a map of where we were in space. so far past earth, out deep amongst the stars. there was a small clear zone where we were supposed to travel, and a large grey zone. We were in the middle of this grey zone, down toward the bottom. there was a horizon as well, down at the very bottom corner of the map - like the surface of a massive planet, on top of which was a smaller, black, irregular shaped black mass, which we happened to be headed directly toward. It gave me a chill down my spine to see it on that map. the thought occurred to me, of old maps and the label on unknown seas: "Here be dragons".

"once you're lined up, do a full trajectory burn and we'll get you back. we might even be able to get you on the moon, but that's going to be a real tight squeeze, you're so low on fuel."
I replied, "so if Julie can manage to set us down with a perfect landing, no screwups, we can still get to the moon?"
The capcom sounded very doubtful that it would actually happen. "yeah that's about right. but you've got to do this burn right away." At this point I was okay to lose the moon as long as we got home alright.

After this I brought up the zero G thing, how it was really strange. Houston always awkwardly avoided this topic with me - they never really acknowledged it. So I awkwardly made a joke about how that's "hard to do", and we really pulled off a tricky one. We've got to be the only astronauts in history who managed to keep our gravity in deep space.

In the meantime I tried further to get the radio working over the speakers. I started to lose track of time. I didn't realize that Julie wasn't doing the burn. i turned and saw her doing dishes at the kitchenette - this began a great argument between us, wasting our time fighting about what she should have been doing and why she didn't do it, and what the map looked like and how there isn't such thing as "left and right" in space.

The thought popped into my head that I shouldn't be here. I'm not properly trained as an astronaut. I'm no Neil or Buzz. I have no idea what I'm doing, I don't know what half of the panels and switches in this module are even for. I realized that the whole thing had been a terrible mistake. And right on cue,we had begun to pass into the gate - we were too late. The music turned into a strange cacophany, not static or white noise, but a distorted type of music, wailing and abominable. on top of it, a loud, bright pulsing sound slowly began to well up, along with flashes through the windows. The pulse sounded and felt not like it was in your ears - but directly in your brain. like each pulse electrified, briefly, every neuron, and each pulse was stronger than the last.

The pulsing picked up, the cacophany of the music became more strange, more horrible, louder, and eventually we were completely overwhelmed by a horrific inner pain, an unbearable state of being, and I fell to the floor and dug myself into a cushion as hard as I could, slamming my hands over my head in a completely futile attempt to soften it. There I bore my agony, and far more suddenly than it began, it stopped. All was clear. No more music. No more houston. It was too clear. in fact, there was a bright white light coming from the windows, though only light - I couldn't see anything through them but light. Julie and I said not a word to each other.

I decided to go down the tiny snaking hallway and see if I could see where we were.

We were docked somewhere. It looked earthly, familiar. I called out to Julie to follow. We both opened the hatch and exited the module.

This next part is fuzzy. I believe we were docked in a large parking garage. The whole time I wondered - is this place friendly? might it be hostile to us? Why does it look so much like home? It was clearly an earthly car garage, the outdoor kind that goes upward - although only white light seemed to exist outside of it, no trees, no distance whatsoever.

Suddenly a van appeared, recognizable, and seeing it there gave me a terrible feeling. it was Julie's dad's van, blue, a ladder on the side of it. the headlights were on and there was nobody at the wheel. It made the hair on the back of my neck stand up. Suddenly it screeched loudly, and peeled out, and I yelled to get out of the way, diving aside with Julie while it drove through. It seemed my earlier question had been answered.

A short period of exploration followed that I don't quite remember, except for a faint whistling. At some point we discovered another person. A girl, slightly younger than us, pretty and small and shy. she did not seem to radiate the feeling of this place, the negative energy. She seemed good, and I trusted her. She agreed to come with us.

when I went through the hatch I was so happy to be back in our little pod that I practically ran full-tilt through the tiny snaking corridor and wriggled my way into the command module like it was my house back on earth.

After we took off I was able to dial houston back in, though they were a bit staticy. I brought up that we had been through the gate and discovered an incredibly strange place and that I must tell them about it. For some reason, the guys in houston were completely uninterested. They didn't think any of it was relevant and I might as well not bother telling it. I assured them this was incredible stuff though, and forced my story on them. But something was strange, off kilter. The capcom was listless, dull, nonplussed. He didn't seem to register what I was saying as anything meaningful. He sounded so tired.

As I told of the gamma radiation, of the severe pain and the strange place we found, my mind wandered. What is this girl here with us? Is she really good? Could she be some kind of spy? Alien? Demon?

A realization dawned on me at some point after this, more awful than all the rest. Houston wasn't hearing me and I hadn't been talking to anyone. All that was broadcasting in my hear was a low hum. they hadn't said a word to me. We were on the other side of the gate. And I realized then that there would be no hope for us in getting back home. Lost somewhere beyond Hades, amongst the dragons, with something unknown inside the command module with us, an overwhelming sensation of terror overcame me, and I woke up.

Also, to anyone who doesn't follow NASA news: Obama's admistration just canned Projection Constellation. So we're not going back to the moon. No moon base. Sorry, everybody.

I wish i could say what my most recent dream was about.
It was really cute but still kind of inappropriate for these forums i guess, and possibly awkward for any of my friends that might be sneaking on here xD

Instead i'm desperatly trying to remember one before that. I hate this about dreams, i definatly remember it having some big moments but i can't remember any of them!
I'm eager to get back to sleep now to see if i get a cool dream ^^

I just remembered, I had a very strange and freaky dream the other day. I remember bits and pieces here and there, but I'll start where the dream basically kicked off.

I was falling down a hole and I landed into a small underground room, maybe about fifteen feet by fifteen feet and ten feet high, with hard gray mud walls, and I was with five or six other people. The only light we had was in my hand, the kind of cheap and innefective light you'd find on the end of a pen. There was only a light radius of about two or three feet, the light was blue, and everything else was pitch-black. I went around the corners and found a plastic car, mining cart, old wool couch, and piles of sticks and stones. But everything was so dark and creepy and depressing. Then I saw three mining holes in one side of a wall, lined with old wood on the edges, and very thin and long. The middle one facing straight and the other two inclined towards each other in the direction of the middle one. They looked like they went on forever, and there were two-legged hoof-prints in the middle one. One of the little girls walked down one and dissapeared into the darkness. It creeped me out, but I wasn't planning on leaving the room though. (eek). We then fell asleep on the old itchy couches and I woke up, alone, with very bright and colorful lights, but very far away. It's hard to explain, but the lights were just the creepiest thing I've ever seen. The were flashing on and off five or six times every second, and some of them weren't flashing at all. I remember dark blue, bright red, and dark green. But this part didn't make much sense, because it seemed like the room was much bigger. Or there was no room, just darkness. The lights seemed like they encircled me but the circle was getting smaller. Then I heard a jagged, hellish hiss and I woke up.

Why can't I ever have nice dreams? lol>

Wow, sounds to me like the type of dream you might get from playing too much Demon's Souls. Especially with the dark muddy underground corridors, and the light that only illuminates a few feet, and the knowledge of some kind of demonic evil nearby.

I remember having a Demon's Souls nightmare, but I don't remember the actual details of the dream. I know it involved giant shadowy beasties that wanted my soul. *shudder*

I know exactly what you mean. Often my freakiest dreams are some of my favorite. This lost-in-deep-space thing I had last night was awesome to experience, even though it also happened to be both frustrating and terrifying. I don't really remember...

I wish Michael Scott was in my dreams!

Anyway, I had a pretty funkalicious dream last night. It involved my school's main hall, filled with ginos and the like as well as knights (yes, castle knights)! So, about half of my school's main hall was a castle (fro really?) with dancing knights and such. But wait! It gets funkier!

There was a rule that at 2:00pm, if you were still in the castle part of the main hall, you would be married to the person on your right. As the clock approached 2 o' clock, I was trampled by ginos and knights as well as some girls (teehee).

Well, wouldn't you know it; as the clock struck 2, me and my crush found ourselves standing on that castle edge. Meyes, we were to be married. And then, the castle area collapsed and I fell. That's when I woke up.

Certainly a strange dream... but I thought it was hilarious (doesn't get much funnier than ginos and knights chanting and performing evil rituals in the main hall).

I look forward to dreaming tonight!

I dreamt i killed hitler by instead of firing little boy at hiroshima, i fired it at his location in germany ending the war for good( i know that seems illogical but there were 2 bombs fired at Japan, little boy was the smaller bomb but Fat Man was dropped on Nagasaki, so one bomb wouldve stopped our war with japan and one would save the jews)2010-02-04 06:27:00

I once had a dream!

It all started on 8th August (My birthday) (oh it was a long time ago as well) i was standing in front of my birthday cake while everyone was singing happy birthday! But suddenly the ground started shaking (oh teh noes) and a giagantic snail (yes snail) came smashing through the wall and everyone started screaming!

Yes i do have some rather odd dreams.

I very rarely have nice dreams
As freakish and disturbing as my dreams can be i'm never really scared by them though. Well apart from a few encounters with SP and a night terror.

One i've probably mentioned 1 million times is the dreams of me desperatly trying to get back home, but still feeling lost when i get there or almost outcast. In the midst of confusion you walk into your house to find noones there and everything unfamiliar, as if my family had disappeared and left no trace. They stick in my mind the most.

The one that haunts me the most is when i'm walking down my street trying to get home, but every house is different and seems distorted in some way. So i try a house at random and gently push open it's flimsy wooden door and i'm blasted with a really loud repeating mechanical noise from inside, like some weird machine - and the noise was blocked entirely by the wooden door.
And a similar one where there's a strange melancholy in the atmosphere, i go into my house but my family seems kind of vacant and every last bit of furniture is stripped down leaving nothing but concrete walls and floor. Then a glimpse at some sort of barbaric riot that starts right outside my house with them kicking doors open and smashing windows, and i duck by the window in fear but my family seems creepily unphased.

They're not all bad though, the ones that are good always turn out to be amazing and make me sad to wake up.
I won't go into detail but there was one completly life changing dream where i was a wolf helping out some kid who was lost, I went to australia and got served smoothies before going on some crazy race, i explored london where the public transport system had been replaced with a weird maze of brass slides.

I've probably mentioned my lucid phase too where i just had to close my eyes for literally 20 seconds before being plummeted into a lucid dream. I woke up quickly each time but returning was as easy as closing my eyes again
I took advantage of my imagination during the dreams and decided to explore somewhere that my brain couldn't possibly no about to see what happened. I started entering other peoples houses on my street and found things like huge greek swimming pools and huge warehouses full of stuffed toys in an innocent looking closet i tried to learn how to fly and stuff too but that just made me wake up quicker.

I dreamed that I was in a giant school building with two of my friends. One of them got ****** off for some reason and went to yell at his aunt and uncle because apparently his parents died. I dragged him back, then the three of us went back into the building and explored an MC Escher-esque. staircase maze. Eventually, my other friend discovered a room with an elevator in it. We go into the elevator, but another elevator opens up, ad infinitum. After about sixteen seconds I wake up.2010-02-04 22:38:00

I was in a dream where I was watching TV, a Sword on my back, a due rag on my face, and some dragonball Z looking pants with converse on and I had a beer in my hand. They had some breaking news. A nuclear warhead has been dispatched to the town I was in. The clouds were dark, the wind was hard, buildings in flames, and people running from all directions. I look up at the sky and I see the warhead, it was in slo-motion. I gaze at the warhead turn around and started walking away, sad music played as I did this. The warhead hit and it made a huge mushroom and behind me the ground shook, the large New York-like buildings fell and I was just there watching as if it hit everyone, but me. I pick up ashes from the ground and they blew away from my hand. The air was filled with green particles floating around as in a Fallout 3 kind of scenery, but the sky was dark green with flames. A ground zero flashback hit me even though it wasn't my memory while the ashes blew away. Burning, fighting, and riots. Political wars and the warhead. All so strange, no tear shed, just plain silence besides the dramatic wind blowing and things still collapsing. No feeling, but pure curiosity.

Why.

It aint that easy for everyone

Lucid dreaming for me is just like a fuzzy version of reality but with slight changes like lower gravity for example - like i said earlier i had to trick my mind into coming up with something that wasn't real

Lucid dreaming...yeh thats the name of it.
first time i had it i was like 9 years old, it was a "nightmare" with zombies  in a shopping-mall, i realised that i was dreaming because i had the same dream the night before.
i hided my self in a corner of a shop and i realised i came trough the wall, than i started to wish more and more things.
that was the best dream ever had.

Two nights ago I had this dream:

Somehow I had come into possession of an old cursed vinyl record. There was some legendary story behind it - probably inspired by "Gloomy Sunday" (an old Hungarian song that was said to have caused people who heard it to become suicidal). But a bit more intense. This record had some vague, dark history - the musicians who created it no longer around to set the story straight, victims of a mysterious death/disappearance, and the record itself was said to be lost or destroyed. Think of a musical record version of the Necronomicon.

Somehow I come into possession of this thing. Much of what happens next I don't remember, perhaps they were only a part of the dream as knowledge or backstory. But vaguely, I felt the record was somehow responsible for the death of my entire family and several of my friends. I had to find out the truth. I hunted down these experts, driving across the continent to seek them out in some big eastern US city, unnamed, but a hybrid perhaps of New York, DC, Boston, you name it. I found them in a large, old, run down house, thin and tall, and crammed between other buildings in an old district of a dark street. Their house was a complete mess - listening equipment, cables, speakers, spread and stacked all over the place. I had in my backpack the object of my anxiety, and the object of their desire. They welcomed me in, apologized for the mess, told me they had some children and wives hanging around the house somewhere and that I might run into them at some point.

I patiently waited, admiring the sheer passion at work in this feverish, packed workplace/shared house. These guys were experts on music, and specifically strange audio and musical phenomena. This cursed record had been the holy grail for their studies. As they set up a workstation, and as I tried to avoid getting tangled up in the sea of cables all around me, they told me about the backstory of this record and its creators.

I don't remember the details, but it involved a haunted train, some ghostly demon thing, terrible to imagine. They told me of the unusual musical structure of the record itself, the strange events in the lives of the musicians, and their mysterious ends. They said that certain tracks on the record contained almost no musical content whatsoever, but instead were soundscapes that were said to be horrific, peeks into the dark things that the musicians had somehow witnessed. They told me that there was a certain spot you could play the record from, a specific set of grooves that weren't attached to the rest, and if you found the exact point with the needle, you can hear a hidden track.

They found it and played it. I listened to a dark, muffled sound of a distant train's deep chugging, and the house seemed to vibrate with it. I became overhwhelmed with the sensation of being in some dark place and seeing this train all at once - the outside of it, the steam, the empty and dark corridors of the sleeping cars, the lounge cars and dining cars. Its lights and lamps were dimly lit, but all was empty. When I remembered again that I was in fact in a house somewhere at some unknown hour of the night listening to a record, I was back there in their room - and in some adjacent room or hallway was an eerie flickering green light. I couldn't hear anything except the train, and when I investigated the light I saw fire. Green fire. The equipment was aflame with it, people were panicking. I found a large courtyard - I was up on a 2nd floor walkway above it, and I saw fountains and other structures below on fire, a sickening green glow cast on everything I could see. Suddenly one of the two experts burst in and told me that his children were dead.

I don't know exactly what followed, but I found myself in the silent, nearly-destroyed wreckage - the house still stood, but the equipment, the furniture, and the lives were burned and ruined. The two men survived, but their families did not. I didn't know what to say or do. They didn't seem interested in having me there anymore, and patiently asked me to leave. I took my bag and left.

I sat in the city, having a bite to eat at an outdoor sidewalk cafe. I didn't know what I would do or where I would go, and ate my food glumly. I noticed a limo pull up nearby and the president himself, Barack Obama, stepped out with secret service, and he had a smoke while an aid went up to the cafe to order something. Several passers-by showed up to talk to him and ask him for an autograph, to which he patiently acquiesced, smiling presidently. I almost laughed at the thought of bringing up the evening's events to him. "Could you add this to your platform?" Instead I sat and quietly kept to myself - just another celebrity with a limo.

A pretty weird and light-hearted end to a strange and dark dream, but I enjoyed it. Later on sometime I'll talk a bit about last night's dream, if I can conjure up some of the details. It involved my being a member of some underground dream rebellion in a middle eastern country, and being able to go undercover in dreams. Very weird stuff.

How the heck do you remember so much?! Your dreams are so fun to read. Go make yourself a book.

Normally I don't remember them in such detail. Lately I've been having a bit of a dream-remembering renaissance, and I'm not sure why. I've been getting a bit more exercise lately - is that it? I've been reading ravenously, ten times more than usual - could that be it? I think I've been eating more, not at all more healthy or less healthy, just more in general. I haven't played videogames in a while. Mayhaps the videogame's the thing?

For whatever reason, lately they've just been sticking with me. I'll try to dig down for this next one, but there are going to be a lot of gaps. This was last night's.

It started with me at home, and a building sense of the world news getting bigger and bigger, in the worst way. A general sense of intense strife spreading out, particularly from the middle east, and getting into everything, every part of life. I found myself caught up in it somehow.

I sat in a room, underground, something like Les Miserables' ABC Cafe, where a group of underground rebels were meeting and planning. Whatever this cause was, I was on the precipice of diving into it, and I had a general feeling of knowing that I was on the verge of a major, life-changing decision. I was in a strange Middle-Eastern city, an absolute hodge-podge of places and cultures and ideals. Very little of it seemed to reflect the reality in war-torn Iraq or Palestine. It was something older, and with far more color. Some piece of ancient Arabia, during the time of its civilized height, when it was the jewel of the world was there - some piece of Tangiers in the 50s, the mish-mash of cultures and convergence of notable people was there - some storybook Arabian Nights fantasy was there - and, finally, just a bit of modern reality, of faded buildings riddled with bullet holes. It didn't feel like a place at the edge of the world, but rather of a place lively and colorful and healthy and rich, but in the throes of some un-defined revolution that I somehow felt I had to participate in.

It's a ridiculous thing for me to devote myself to an impassioned, life-altering cause in a dream that is never even clearly defined. In retrospect it's easy for me to pinpoint it - it was a decision for myself, to give myself purpose and to push myself, and to feel a part of some important thing. It was the idea of it that drew me in, the details I don't think concerned my dreaming brains.

But this "dream director" - the subconscious that keeps me engaged in the dream without my realizing it, was really on the job with this one. I think whenever I hit some kind of realistic dissonance where the events were too alien and unreal to my life, the "director" conceived of a device that played out through the rest of this dream.

In it, I was a dreamer. They had certain "soldiers" of the revolution who wouldn't directly fight at all, but instead wage a different type of battle in dreams. I was like a dream spy. The underground had a dreaming room, a dim, candle-lit room adorned with elaborate rugs and tapestries and pillows. I would sleep here, and find myself in another part of the city. Now the colors of the city really showed themselves. It was a far more elaborate place, color and texture and culture seemed to drip from the walls and balconies. My mission involved a massive sabotage of important people attending an opera. It was around dusk, and there was almost a feeling of Renaissance Italy to the city, with minstrels in the streets, art everywhere you looked. I was part of a team of "dream spies", and together we set about our plan. Unfortunately, this most exciting part of the dream I don't remember the details to. We planned something. Dusk turned to twilight as we made our way into the backstage areas of the opera house, a giant but ancient and exquisitely detailed building. A lot of sneaking and hiding in this part of the dream, and something going terribly wrong. Panic sets in, and I find myself back in the underground with the other revolutionaries. with the failure at the opera house we have to plan a new mission. Unfortunately I don't remember anything from here. It's amazing to me that this dream maintained as much continuity as it did, but I think around this point it probably went way off the rails and I might have ended up in disneyland hiding from zombies for all I remember.

It's really unusual and rare for a dream to have such a round and complete narrative as the previous one from two nights ago. It's a fully-contained story with an ending. You gotta appreciate when your brain serves you up a full story for a dream. Usually they just sit there hanging awkwardly unfinished, like my arabian-dream-revolution, or utterly bizarre and random, like most unrecalled dreams.

Wow. Ever, huh? Considering there's a sudden REM rebound effect when you stop smoking, perhaps - just going out on a limb here - but perhaps you should try NOT smoking for maybe 2, 3 days? Hell, after that you can go buck wild. But the REM rebound effect causes unusually intense REM sleep, with particularly vivid dreams.

Eating lots of cheese just before bed - certain types in particular, like Stilton - is known to cause vivid, strange dreams.

So try this kiddos: Smoke lots of business for a while, then stop suddenly. For a couple of nights in a row, eat a lot of Stilton just before bed. You might want to temporarily install a seatbelt in your bed.

Haha, well I actually had a dream where I was a sackboy in create mode and I had to create the best level. In it was Will Ferral and Dr. Weir (Stargate Atlantis) and they were having a romantic dinner and using my creating skills I had to change everything to make it perfect . . .then my alarm woke me up. lol. It was a strange dream.2010-02-10 07:25:00

You're bang on right with that one. I've smoked almost every day for the last 20 years, but there have been a few rare occasions (such as my honeymoon) when I've been forced into abstinence. At these times, my dreams have come back with such vivid intensity that I've woken up convinced it was real and feeling psychologically traumatised for the rest of the day. There was one such occasion when I dreamed I was a high flying corporate chairman, fornicating with my horny secretary in my private office. When I woke up, I found my hips in mid-thrust, the bed shaking violently, and my horrified wife glaring at me across her pillow.

Better not dreaming at all, IMO.

I love those dreams where you begin to fall or something similar then you wake up, feeling like some has just dropped a brick on your chest, your heart rate is high and your breathing really heavy. But the best dreams are the ones where you can control what you do.

I had this dream a while ago but it's abou the only dream I can still remember vividly, I wont go into detail because I can't be bothered but it was basically the apocolypse but with planes, it was really cool.

I was in a sports shop and found a BLU Scout Uniform. So I put it on and started saying random Scout quotes like "GRASS GROWS, BIRDS FLY, SUN SHINES, AND BROTHER... I HURT PEOPLE!" Then after I got a baseball bat and shouted "PLAY BALL!" When I was fully equiped and looked like a BLU Scout I started batting people to death around me.

I don't know why I had a dream related to TF2, it has been weeks since I played that.

The one i had three days ago is not....-cough- G-rated, at least for this site...so....

But the other night, i dreamt i was in a fusion of the "S-cry-ed" anime and this rap video my friends made (which is actually really, really good. it tells the story of someone who's whipped like...well...yes.), and so I had some pretty strange going-ons. i didn't bother to remember that one very much, as it was some version of a chivalric tale. lol.

I always had a problem with lucid dreams. I very rarely in my life have been able to maintain a lucid dream for very long. Anytime I realize I'm dreaming and begin to exert a bit of control over my surroundings, I wake up. It's not hard to understand why - I know it's unreal, I know reality cannot sustain the things happening in front of me. Common dreams are full of these things, but you usually don't recognize bluntly that you're simply in a dream.

So for me, if I realize, "wait, I'm in a dream!" I might start up the magic and bring myself somewhere else, do something I want to do, maybe I start flying. But it never lasts more than a few seconds before I wake up.

I just can't sustain a real lucid dream. So I've stopped trying. It seems my dreaming brain is quite resilient nowadays as a result. I'm able to subconsciously invent ways to keep a dream going in the face of overt fantasy, through gimmicks or ideas or whatever. I might find that the events in my dream have actually all been happening on a movie theater screen in front of me, or are part of a story being told to me by someone else, or in fact they were all a dream and now I'm awake (though I'm actually not), or they were all part of some memory, etc.

I dreamt that I was sitting on my sofa & could hear something inside the walls, probably a rat, running around. I'd yell at it to shut up & it'd keep quiet for a while but then it'd start up again, louder & I could hear it scratching or digging or eating something in there so, I started punching at the walls to scare it off but it wouldn't stop. Then I woke up.2010-02-11 18:28:00

Wow, sounds like my bedroom. We've got pidgeons that are roosting up in the roof/wall right beside my friggin' pillow, so every night I hear very clear, very loud scratching and shuffling right next to me. The first time I heard it I thought there was a rat IN THE ROOM. Nope. Sky-rats just outside it.

I was dreaming about the rare prize crown!

Experimented with some "Dreaming Cheese" last night. Actually I was starving before bed and had to eat SOMETHING, and so I had some stilton and crackers. Thought I might be able to confirm or deny its effects on dreams.

And I can't say for sure. I will say that I had a pretty vivid dream, but I'm having a hard time remembering a lot of it. It was much less strange than a lot of my dreams, being pretty grounded for the most part, which is what I think defined the "vividness" of it. The really weird part? It starred our very own Morgana! Whaaa??

I don't remember much, but I do remember that we were hanging out playing LBP, the two of us in person. I was lying down on a couch with my legs up on the arm, and it occurred to me after some time playing that I don't think I had even seen her in all the time we'd been hanging out. It was exactly like playing online, really. So I craned my head and looked "up" (sideways, as I was lying down), and Morgana had done the same thing at the same time, each of us confirming that we were, in fact, actually in the same room and perhaps allaying fears that the other was some kind of woodland goblin? My brain put together a face as quickly as it could, slightly heart-shaped (but maybe that was because I was looking "down the forehead"). I'd probably recognize the face if I ever saw it, but I get the sensation my brain probably didn't invent a new face, but rather put together pieces of people I know and see a lot.

We went back to the game, where we were in the middle of creating some level, and god, for the life of me I can't remember what that level was. I've been wracking my brain, I've NEVER had a dream about specifically creating an LBP level idea - I've had frustrating create-nightmares, but never a "dream level". But I can't dig it out of there, I don't know what it was.

I don't think it ever really got much more exciting than that. We didn't don any secret superhero costumes and save the world, or even the neighborhood for that matter.

Why I had an LBP dream (and an LBPCentral dream for that matter) after staying up late to play Mass Effect 2 is beyond me.

Stilton! Dream about... things!

Last night I had a sad dream...

It was about my dad coming to life...

It made me cry in my sleep. And when I woke up I was sad...

Don't get me wrong but I think it was his spirit cheering me up. It's one way for me to be with him. Hm?

Sounds to me more like a sweet dream that becomes sad in the waking. (Unless you were aware that it was a dream while it was happening - that really is tragic.) That can definitely be a sobering experience. But dreams really are the best way for us to extend our experiences with deceased loved ones. If you know someone really well, dreams can help you maintain your memories of that person, and if the dream simulates their personality accurately... hell, you don't get closer than that to a real reunion for my money.

More than anything though, I think these dreams are potent reminders.

Congratulations on seeing your dad again.

I wish that that would happen to me...

Most dreams we don't remember, maybe it has.

It's strange how much we can express while we dream. My lady once cried in her sleep and it woke her up. She dreamed that she and I had spent a big day adventuring, and toward the end of the day I very simply told her that it was time for me to die. I had wings now, said goodbye, and calmly flew away. She woke from the dream mid-sob with tears streaming down her face.

It's a beautiful dream, but I sure as hell know I'm not ready to go out with that much grace. I'd more realistically be yelling "What the?? Wings?? Scissors! Get me some scissors! BIG ones!"

But it seems to hold up this theory of the purpose of dreams as being preparers. Trainers. We become complacent in life, and only in our dreams do we glimpse the tragedies and hardships that we will someday have to confront. If, like Pantyer described, we have already experienced these things, then dreams can always surface now and then as if to say: Remember.

And then there are the in-between dreams that are just mind-blowingly random. I can't see how turning into a flying purple hippopotamus is going to help prepare ME for the future, but you never know.

I had a dream of two things. The first part of my dream was about an idea for a cartoon series, and the theme park it'd produce. It'd be as big as Disney and Warner Bros., but it'd be under a style I coined "American-made Anime". I can tell you guys about my "grand ideas"... but only if you want to .

My OTHER part of my dream was about what my display level for Outlaw Flyers, Inc.™ would play out. Imagine, 7 different sectors all dedicated to an individual board- ALL of which are very diverse and different from eachother (well... for most of them at least). And each would have a different theme and different format of demonstration. But most of all, I dreamt of how well the level would be recieved... and then dreaded about all of the copy-cats that'd follow suit.

But still, better than what I usually have: a random mash-up of the most random things merged into an abstract, twisted kaleidoscope. Think of it as a Dr. Seuss book gone horribly, horribly wrong.

i was driving an old fashioned car. im not talking 1960's or anything, im talking about the 20's sort of stuff. it was a real pain to drive and it was surprising because i can't drive. it was towing the back end of a lorry with a cement mixer in it (?). next minute, im next to a paint ball cannon and i accidentally pressed R1 (as in PS3 controls. i don't know why!) and shot somebody in the arm with it. but not to badly.

not the weirdest dream i've ever had.

aaaaalrighty well it started where i was uh erm  ok nvm

anyway at this one random point i paratroopered in to a scene of a few people armored up behind a small barackade shooting between these two large concrete structures that formed kind of a wall with an area big enough for a large vehicle, there were some bad guys shooting from both in plain sight and under cover and it felt like i was in Uncharted based on the sounds and weapons so i quickly went to hide in front of the concreate structure around the corner where i could not be seen but could pop out and mow them down if they came up the valley, but almost there one popped out around that corner and started shooting (at this point i was now in MAG o.O) and i quickly got him, heard some noise from a lower concrete level and looked up to see a fellow SVER face to face with some enemy and i quickly whipped out a piston and "boom headshot" ed him XD and the SVER guy wearing a SVER hockey mask waved at me like saying thanks, i waved back and turned back to my position and as we infiltrated the place it turned all Valor sabotage map (ei: rusty wooden water towers, green transport vehicles, pipes and tracks and wooden old houses, and the point we were heading to liked like a huge wooden bunk house and at that point it was all kinda fuzzy but i ended up were the dream started and i woke up...lol

my dream was...

i was in an apartment that was being attacked by robots, i was kidnapped with my friend hohepa and I were chucked in the boot of an SUV. then the SUV turned into a giant robot and said "I will not eat you"

then...

I said for some reason
"short people are great to have around the house, they're like puppies!"

and my short associate (i wouldn't call him a friend) was right there and I hadn't seen him.

"hey...edward....didn't see you there......." i said, "******," i muttered to myself.

LIVE!!

(...again!)

I had a doozy last night! Where did it come from?? For some UNHOLY REASON, I had a Ghostbuster 2 dream. Not even Ghostubsters 1. Ghostbusters TWO.

It was so freakishly scary, I wish so badly I could have recorded it. It was one scene from Ghostbusters 2, re-imagined by my dreaming brain thusly:

It's the scene where Janosz, after being brainwashed by Viggo, visits Dana Barrett during the blackout in the city. But with a nightmarish twist.

In my version, Dana had been involved in the photographing of the Viggo painting by the guys, and had learned how photographs reveal the true nature of this sort of spirit. She had kept her camera handy at all times after learning of it.

Janosz shows up at her door, only he doesn't look like himself. He has mutated. His face is becoming that of a monster. It is beginning to look like some sort of half decayed demon flesh, deep with rotting lines and wholly inhuman features. His eyes are solid. His chin and mouth region are unrecognizably human, the flesh is so deeply marked and lined and discolored and malformed. He doesn't seem to realize that he is visibly taking on a nightmarish appearance, and tries to have a conversation with Dana. Even his voice is taking on a horrific tone.

Dana knows immediately the danger she's in, but also realizes that he doesn't know she can recognize that he's a monster. So, petrified by the mere sight of his face, she maintains her composure, pretends like everything is fine, even somehow manages to snap a few candid photos of him from the camera in her hand, down by her hip. She has a horrible semblance of a conversation with this hideous creature in the dark, just holding on for dear life really, hoping he'll leave. He eventually does, and she sets about immediately to develop the film.

When the photos come out, they reveal that a great demon was standing right in front of her, a hideous 6-armed monster formed of malice and evil. Everything about the photo was hideous, even the hallway behind him had taken on a grotesque form. As soon as she sees the true extent of this thing's evil represented, she's overtaken by a sensation that they are up against something way beyond them. They are going to fail. She is going to die.

and that was my Ghostbusters 2 dream!

My dreams lately are not really dreams, but brainstorms. I'm thinking of new, innovative level ideas for my other account once I unlock everything (all over again... -_-).

It involves a plot similar to Story Mode, draws heavy influence from The Gardens and Wilderness Levels and... well, if I were to tell you of my plans, they would literally turn your world upside-down...

I can't remember what my dream was, but i DO know why we sometimes can't remember them =L
It's because while we are asleep, our long term memory shuts off, but our short term memory remains active. So when we wake up in the morning, we can remember our dreams, and if we don't run it through our heads as soon as we wake up -it won't be transferred to our long term memory so we won't remember it later on

Read it on t'internet ^^

Thanks Ragfell I never knew what they were called, thanks for the link too, seems they're quite a popular area of study. For me they're just fun

Anyway that dream that I couldn't remember suddenly came back to me a few days ago and I remembered to write down a few points. So here goes.

It started with me at my school, why I was at school I don't know. School wasn't actually on since it was night time it was only me there by myself but everything that happened in the dream happened to 'us', it felt as if there were other people there with me but in the dream I never spoke to nor saw them.

The sky was partly apocalyptic in ways. It was grey with dark red lightly washed over some of the clouds. The clouds were swirly towards a central 'eye' of sorts yet the eye could not be seen and was forever changing position.

I was confused as to why everything was the way it was, I wasn't scared more intrigued. So I began wandering around the grounds to see the place. Suddenly the ground began to shake and we (like I said above everything happened to 'us&apos were being thrown around the place. Not like a normal eathquake though, we were being thrown around very quickly almost 50m a time and about 1m off the ground but we stayed upright almost as if were just floating. Eventually I regained my footing and went inside the nearest building. Inside the building was very cramped as there was not much room and there were a few of us in there.

The earthquake stopped, we all just stayed very still for a moment. We decided it was safe to go back outside and tried to find the cause of the earthquake. Searching around I found no cause for the earthquake which made me very confused.

I decided to walk back to the building to be on the safe side. Just as I reached the outdoor sheltered area of the building I heard a great noise and the earthquake started again. I quickly turned around to see what the noise was and to see why the earthquake had started again. Of in the distance about 300m away I saw five big jets taking off and thought to myself, "So it was the jets, it wasn't an earthquake at all." With a sigh of relief a walked back under the shelter an sat down at a table to watch the jets. The jets flew around for a minute or so then screamed past right over our heads and traveled off into the distance untill I couldn't see them.

This is when I knew something was wrong. The earthquake started to intensify, even worse than before. I started being thrown around again, more violently than last time yet still staying upright. I tried to grab onto something, trees, buildings anything but I couldn't get a grip. I thought to myself, "This is very wrong." I looked up at the sky and the red had intensified, the swirling coulds were much faster and the sky seemed to be moving closer to the ground.

I eventaully fell down and tried to keep myself as low as possible, keeping my head down to stop the wind from blowing me around. I looked up and saw a few dark figures in the distance. They were coming nearer and the eartquake didn't seem to be affecting them yet I couldn't do anything. One of the figures came right up to me with the others standing beind her. She had pitch black hair, transparent red eyes, small dark pupils and grey skin with black veins showing through. Just as she was about say something to me that's when the dream ended.

Btw that creepy was the inperation for my latest sackboy. Well his head anyway.
EDIT: Wow that ^ doesn't make any sense. What it was meant to say was:
Btw that creepy girl was the insperation for my latest sackboy costume, well his head anyway.
There that's better

I like the ones where you dream about someone then when you wake up you forget about it, then later in the day you feel some strange connection with the person you dreamt of.

Wow! That was quite the dream. I can imagine it's some sort of alternate reality version of the world, of your school grounds, and this is why you felt the presence of other people even though the place was visibly empty. Just one dimension over, your old familiar school overlapped with this one, so everyone else walked as ghosts, or perhaps you were the ghost.

Anyway, these kind of apocalyptic dreams are some of the best. I had one, very different though, many years ago that always stuck with me. I was in some big, nameless city, and an ungodly enormous creature had awakened and was "flowing" through the streets. The city was so enormous, and this creature also so ridiculously massive, it was impossible to tell through the glimpses you got of it what its shape or form was. You just saw this massive flesh literally filling the streets completely. At one point the people with me and I got away from the city's core and into this emptied out restaurant with a cliffside patio looking out over the skyline a couple of miles away. we saw glimpses of this massive thing and from our vantage point we realized it was probably bigger than the entire city itself, but most of it was still underground.

I love the apocalyptic stuff in dreams!

Yeah it was quite a dream, and I remebered it all by writing down 3 words, earthquake, jets and school.
I love the apocalyptic dreams too, I'm not sure why but I seem to have a lot of them although I often find it hard to remeber them but for some reason I remeber this one so clearly. I want to sketch a few pictures of it and I'll post them here if I ever get around to it.

Interesting theory you have there, It does actually sound quite plausable, I think you might be onto something.

There is one other one I remember but only very little of it.
I was in a new city and everything had a red tinge to it. There were lots of big gnarly trees with longs roots which had broken through the roads and buildings. Everyone was panicking an running, I didn't know why then I saw someone point up to the sky and the were hundreds of passenger planes on fire falling from the skies. So I started running too but tripped over a tree root. That's all I remember.

I had my only Apocalyptic dream some years ago, maybe when I was 7 or 8. I was in a darkened airport, and there a lot of people in there with planes taking off outside. I remember in the corner of the ceiling a television was on. Outside, I saw fire and smoke in the distance, cracks in the ground, and the sky tinged red. I can't remember now whether I could hear the television or what it said, text or otherwise, but I remember getting the impression that the world was ending. After a while a big, bearded man took us to a nearby hotel room, and as I sat down on the bed there, I got the impression that we were going to die. If there was anything else after that, I can't remember.

After a while a big, bearded man took us to a nearby hotel room, and as I sat down on the bed there, I got the impression that we were going to die. If there was anything else after that, I can't remember.

Now this is interesting. I've noticed both of my dreams and your dream all have three similarities.
Teebonesy I think you might like this too.
1. All 3 involve planes

Everyone was panicking an running, I didn't know why then I saw someone point up to the sky and the were hundreds of passenger planes on fire falling from the skies.

I was in a darkened airport, and there a lot of people in there with planes taking off outside.
2. All 3 involved the ground breaking up

The earthquake started to intensify, even worse than before. I started being thrown around again, more violently than last time yet still staying upright. I tried to grab onto something, trees, buildings anything but I couldn't get a grip.

There were lots of big gnarly trees with longs roots which had broken through the roads and buildings.

Outside, I saw fire and smoke in the distance, cracks in the ground
3. All 3 were tinged red

I thought to myself, "This is very wrong." I looked up at the sky and the red had intensified, the swirling coulds were much faster and the sky seemed to be moving closer to the ground.

I was in a new city and everything had a red tinge to it.

Outside, I saw fire and smoke in the distance, cracks in the ground, and the sky tinged red.

It seems our dreams are quite clich?d. Firstly a red tinge is synonymous with the apocalypse, it's been done in movies countless times and it's even been done in The Simpsons.
As for the planes, they can be related to the technological apocalypse. The old scenario of the worlds computers crashing technology going berserk, which has also happened in The Simpsons.
Then we come to the ground cracking and earthquakes, well this is just stereotypical apocalypse, which has once again been depicted in The Simpsons.

So it looks like our apocalyptic dreams have just pulled out all the tricks then given them our own touch.

I've had 1 lucid dream a while ago now.

I just remember flying up to the balcony of my grandmothers apartment with a camera looking at me that panned and twisted in all cool kinds of ways. I landed, but then a thought popped in my head. I was like wait a minute, did I just.. fly? That can't be real I thought. I must be.. dreaming? I was excited as lucidity was something I had wanted to achieve, but this wasn't a night or morning I had planned to try. Just randomly I decided to do a reality check. I looked at my hand and it was held like a fist. Then I looked away for a second and looked back at my hand. Now it was spread out and twisted around backwards, definitely not my doing so at that moment I knew it was a dream. Of course you have this idea it's a dream I can do anything! But that was quickly dismissed as I failed to throw fireballs and my grandmother looked at me oddly. Only now in awareness did I notice how blurry it was. I went into the sitting room and thought ok I just flew up here surely I can fly out of here! I stood and braced my self for lift off but then.. nothing. I couldn't do anything! I sat on the chair disappointed and I thought well if I can't fly maybe I'll try floating. I focused but couldn't get anything to happen with myself so I gazed at the cushions. Telepathy come on, do it! I was amazed as the cushions started to rise into mid air. Eventually I focused on myself, I willed it and sure enough I started floating. Oddly it worked it's way from my feet up, so my feet rose first, seemingly I was getting dragged upwards until I was completely airborne. It was like zero gravity, I presume that's how zero gravity feels anyway. I formed little balls and spun around for a while. It was fun! Then i faded back into the dream and lost the lucidity. It was great while it lasted!

I want to sketch a few pictures of it and I'll post them here if I ever get around to it.

I've surprised myself here, I actually got the pictures done. They're not very detailed or realistic but they're pretty accurate depictions of my dream. The pictures relate to the quote below

http://i875.photobucket.com/albums/ab311/SR20DETDOG/Dream0001.jpg

It started with me at my school, why I was at school I don't know. School wasn't actually on since it was night time it was only me there by myself but everything that happened in the dream happened to 'us', it felt as if there were other people there with me but in the dream I never spoke to nor saw them.

http://i875.photobucket.com/albums/ab311/SR20DETDOG/Dream0002.jpg

I decided to walk back to the building to be on the safe side.

http://i875.photobucket.com/albums/ab311/SR20DETDOG/Dream0003.jpg

Of in the distance about 300m away I saw five big jets taking off and thought to myself, "So it was the jets, it wasn't an earthquake at all." With a sigh of relief a walked back under the shelter an sat down at a table to watch the jets. The jets flew around for a minute or so then screamed past right over our heads and traveled off into the distance untill I couldn't see them.

http://i875.photobucket.com/albums/ab311/SR20DETDOG/Dream0004.jpg

Eventually I regained my footing and went inside the nearest building. Inside the building was very cramped as there was not much room and there were a few of us in there.

http://i875.photobucket.com/albums/ab311/SR20DETDOG/Dream0005.jpg

I looked up and saw a few dark figures in the distance. They were coming nearer and the eartquake didn't seem to be affecting them yet I couldn't do anything.

http://i875.photobucket.com/albums/ab311/SR20DETDOG/Dream0006.jpg

One of the figures came right up to me with the others standing beind her. She had pitch black hair, transparent red eyes, small dark pupils and grey skin with black veins showing through. Just as she was about say something to me that's when the dream ended.
I forgot to put the veins in but I'm sure you can imagine what they look like

I fell asleep in my bed once and had a nightmare about falling off the edge of the Grand Canyon...

When I hit the bottom, I woke to find myself on the floor.

*gasp*

It's the Langoliers!

Except for the bearded man in the hotel room. I don't know, I don't really remember that movie. And I never read the book. All I know is that your dream made me think of The Langoliers.

Oh god, dreams? You guys don't even want to know... lol

...

SO, last night.

I dreamed I woke up in a motel or something, and supposedly I was an outlaw in some spanish country. EVERYTHING was in spanish, which was REALLY creepy, since I barely know spanish. It was probbaly just random spanish sounding words put together in my crackhead silly mind. ANYWAYS... I ended up hitching a ride on a um.. giant whale? To the airport, where I tried to get a plane to America. Then I was arrested D:

They asked me stupid things translated by a man with a elephant mask on [ A really cute one ], they asked me things like,

So you're mother did have a cleft chin? No? She didnt?

I heard you played roller derby? Is that a contanct sport?

Does a bear **** in the woods?

To the last one I replied 'No, a polar bear ***** on the ice' [ <3 ]

They were all like offended then I woke up.

...

What wonderful look into my crackhead silly mind :]

I walked out of my friends house with them to the end of their garden. Looking left I saw their neighbor from two doors down rushing around, as if searching for something. There was two other guys with him and they all seemed panicked for some reason. I waited as my friend walked ahead to find out what was going on. Even though they were a good distance away I heard everything, it was my dream after all. They said they were experimenting and the creature escaped. It was best to get back indoors away from possible danger. I noticed the other people with their backs to walls further down, peeking around corners like ninjas but then my friend came running back. I acted completely clueless about what I had heard as my friend struggled to tell me of this monster whilst dashing for the door. I said "monster?". I looked around walking backwards towards the door when I seen something. It was galloping towards us across the field just adjacent the house. It looked weird that's for sure. It was humanoid, it had all the limbs we do but just a bit contorted. The arms were as long as the legs, it ran on all fours. Its neck was sharply bent upwards with a deformed face attached staring directly at us with evil intent. It had curly brown hair that bobbed up and down and blood seemed smeared on its face. I said "that thing in the field?", my friend glanced back.. "OH GOD RUN!!". We ran for the porch and locked the door behind us. My friend was trying to find the right key but failed a few times in panic giving the creature time to get into the garden. It walked forward slowly, almost sizing us up. As if it was going to make a move any second but just then the front door flew open and we ran in slamming it behind us. Oddly, at that moment, it was calm. Like we completely forgot the sheer hysteria that had been with us seconds before. My friend strolled into the kitchen. I followed suite and noticed something different upon entering. The entire back wall of the house was glass, not usually like this I inspected the outside. Just then I seen the creature coming over the back wall! It didn't climb. it just sort of floated over, the lack of movement and it's head focused on me was really unsettling as it drew closer and finally touched down. I expressed my concern to my friend that it was in the back garden but he just dismissed it. Then the monster backed up and ran for the glass. It broke through and at that moment I ran for my life. I ran out of the kitchen, up the stairs and into my friends bedroom which I knew had a lock in it. When I got there his brother was just standing in the room. I was ecstatic shouting "OH MY GOD YOU WON'T BELIEVE WHAT'S HAPPENING DOWNSTAIRS!", the brother replied in the most solemnly boring voice possible, "whaaaaaat?". I explained that his brother must still be down there with this beast as he hadn't appeared and got told I should go back down. Obviously nervous about the prospect and the total silence I creeped downstairs. As I got to the closed over kitchen door that just a beam of light passed though I reached out my hand. As I was about to open the door it burst open and noise resumed. It was chaotic but it was as if the kitchen had been paused while I was away. My friend pushed me ahead shouting "GO GO GO". We reached his bedroom and slammed the door. I quizzed what happened in the kitchen, my friend replied "Oh I was just getting a glass of milk" which he was clearly observed sipping on. I was shocked but then quickly realised the door hadn't been locked. I heard the creature running upstairs as I dived for the lock. It's footsteps were incredibly loud like it smashed it's feet off the floor each step. We remained in the room for hours it seemed. Occasionally the beast would go back downstairs and we would sneak out. But it would always come running back up with us just narrowly locking ourselves back in. There was one mobile phone but the tiniest bit of credit. Who to call seemed impossible to decide. I got it though, I had a dagger at home, surely it could slay the beast so i called my brother and it only took a few words to get him to bring the dagger. Only thing we didn't get to mention was we were locked in an upstairs bedroom and he would have to find a way to get it to us. So when he arrived we were excited but he walked straight up to the front door and rang the bell. We heard the beast run downstairs but it seemed to pause as if composing itself before answering the door. It opened the door and it had my sisters voice, albeit more demonic. It asked what my brother wanted and he handed the dagger over not knowing what he was giving it to. The beast slammed the door shut and ran back upstairs and stated stabbing the door with the dagger repeatedly. As far as I know we never got out and presumably perished at the hands of that odd creature.2010-04-07 15:03:00

Yep... I don't buy any tripe about dreams just being random and not having any deeper meaning. I'm not particularly big on Jung either, but I don't doubt for a second that some of the deepest pieces of our subconscious identity come out in our dreams. Things we repress, pieces of ourselves that are unpleasant or that we try to forget, they can continue to pop up and remind us that they're there, and remind us that we may not be exactly the things we project.

Also, one time I dreamed I was a doggy.

I had a dream that one of my friends hid under my sofa suddenly, and refused our attempts to coax him out. When he finally emerged, he'd become a Beagle, and he ran off down the road.

I also had one where some girl persuaded me to go hunting for one of my teachers, saying that he'd become evil. We went to a large cul-de-sac with a grassy bit in the middle with trees. She shot my teacher with a crossbow, but he didn't flinch, and showed us that he'd found some kind of purple squishy stuff that allowed him to shapeshift, fly, be super strong, yadda yadda yadda, but eventually lose your humanity. Then he began to offer us it, insisting that we take it through a massive syringe, which he began chasing us with. We ran, and to make the dream even weirder, managed to bump into Hester Shaw, the scar faced girl from the Mortal Engines quartet, along with one of my friends, and they helped us get away from this syringe weiding maniac, by doing some skillful parkour. Yesh.

So I have an imagination thats trying to burst out of my head. Big deal!

I have had nightmares everyday since I was a kid,
grown up with them and loving most of them.

But last night was one of a returning nightmare I have had the past several years ever since my arms went fubar.
In the dream I feel like someone is pushing me down against my will and when I wake up (I really do wake up.. its been tested).
I cant move my body, al I can do is open/close my eyes and move my head left/right.
Now I have had dreams about alien invasions, mutants ripping the limbs out of my friends and family.. but this keeps scaring me.
I try to yell for help, but I dont produce any sound, so I try to yell harder but nothing but a little bit of sound comes out...
Every time i try to struggle my way out of the grip I am feeling it feels like something is screaming in my head, I cant hear any voices but it really feels like something is going berserk screaming in my ears and I just feel my body filling with fear.
Eventually the pressure on my body is gone and I can move again..
But strangely.. no matter how scary it was.. I fall back to sleep.

this time I could for some reason remember the face of a girl in Belgium I once knew..
but she looked so angry.. frustrated.. screaming.
But having lost all contact... not sure how to regain it.

I remember having a dream of the central station of doetichem in the Netherlands.
Never been there but according to a chat-friend who lives there what I dreamt was pretty close.
the scary thing was, I dreamt about a man saying goodbye.
not having spoken to her in a long time I contacted her the next day..
her father died...

I have had the same dream about my dad..
it was probably my first nightmare.. I was 4 years old but I can remember it as if it was last night.
I was in care-bear world.. you know.. the clouds.. cute bears shooting rainbow's and that kind of disney enjoyable crappage.
All of a sudden my father was there, sitting in an elevator that reached heaven..
his legs outside of the elevator.
he looked at me and said.. be strong.. i got to go.
I cried.. asking him why.. but he couldnt explain.. he was needed..
that moment the door of the elevator closes.. leaving his legs behind.. while the elevator shoots towards the sky.

a few years later on christmas eve.. dad passed away after a car accident that summer..
even if he survived.. he would never be able to walk again.

And Ive written down many many other dreams and nightmares I had.
as a matter of fact, "Sack, The legendary" is based on a dream I had. (I even dreamt about logic that worked when I tried it the next day).

that has got to be the most scariest nightmare ever. not being able to move for real...
my dream last night about drinking a car seems pretty lame compared to that.

Not being able to move sounds like sleep paralysis but can't really say. Sounds weird, I've heard people say they have that sensation when they wake up they can't move and usually their is darkness about it like someone watching or an evilness or in your case something going berserk in your ear even though you can't hear it. I don't think we dream about the future necessarily but of course topics are bound to pop up that do eventually come true, whether we can call that a premonition or not I am not sure. I've had some myself and it is odd half the time how close to reality things can be but I'm not convinced it's some heavenly calling. I think we are naturally going to be predicting things unconsciously and our brains take educated guesses in putting these dreams together it's not just total randomness I don't think. I wish their was a device that allowed us to record our dreams so we could really see the similarities to reality up close.

As for my dream last night, well I can't remember it much. I got tangled up in a web and a twisted and turned looking for whatever had spun the web. I saw a little spider on my hand and I thought no way that made the web. Then in the corner of my eye I seen it. A giant spider came crawling forward, then it jumped at me. It was like slow motion as it came closer fangs spread wide. Then from behind bullets came flying, the spider got shot to pieces and whoever it was smiled and said they had my back.

but it's when you dream about something that you didn't even know excised, now that's weird. being 5 and dreaming about scooby doo before you've even heard of or seen the show or the dog is kinda strange (that happened to me).

Can you be 1000% sure you never seen Scooby Doo before that, not even for a split second? I mean dogs are lovable creatures and I think kids particularly are fascinated, it's not out of the realms of possibility you dreamed up a dog with a funny voice that happened to be brown etc etc. As I said a device to record would be handy and settle this debate, because we can easily fabricate an image in our minds of what we think we seen. I personally don't remember much before the age of about 4 so what exactly I encountered in that time I don't know, I could have seen any number of things that later appeared in dreams but had no clue what they were as the memory was gone to me but subconsciously it remained. I don't know but the mind is a powerful thing, it can create images so real, sounds we are convinced happened, hallucinations etc. I don't doubt for a second it's capable of creating many of these "supernatural" things we convince ourselves had deeper meaning.

the fact that the next day was the first day i saw an episode of scooby doo, the one with captain redbeard, was ever stranger. now, i agree that my mind must have been influenced somehow, it couldn't just make it up, but it must have been on some bizarre sub-conscious level. weird how the human brain works, huh?

WUT

You loose control of your muscles at various points of sleep, and if awoken by something, mental or physical, you may become conscious in that state. You eventually regain control or go back to sleep.
Speaking of that, good night.

I think my dreams are slowly fading into reality.

A few months ago, my dreams were ridiculous and odd (something that'd scare the living daylights out of Tim Burton ). They were just random and obscure images as though Van Gogh had a seizure and swiped uncontrollably across his palette. But now... they're becoming more practical and real. The randosity has changed to a more subtle oddity; a paradox, as you put it. Sure, some events are still abit odd and jumbled, but it's starting to get to the point that my dream are, actually... starting to resemble my life. Full-fledged arguements, typical day-to-day stuff and a feeling of emotional distress are becoming more and more apparant in my dreams. Of course, this isn't always the case, but they've been occuring more and more often...

I think this is the first time I've ever said this on LBPC: I'm scared...

lol I love when technology starts interrupting. I had a bit in one of my dreams where there was an object, but it was way too small I needed to make it bigger so I just dragged my finger across the air and made a selection box lol then I tried to scale up like in 3ds max but no, the laws of physics wouldn't allow it.2010-04-20 14:31:00

Alrighty, I've had another dream, well one that I can remember.
Sorry if it seems confusing and out of order but that's the way I dreamt it, unlike my previous dream.
So here goes nothin'...

I was playing Sim City but it was real life, I was putting down commercial and residential zones and the city was going really good, I finally saved up enough money and bought an airport for my city. Then what do I see? I see Bart Simpson running around my city square park, I didn't like the looks of this. Next thing I know Bart decided it would be a great idea to place a stupid airport down in my city, not even a good one just a crappy small one but it still cost money luckily I still had $166,664 left. Then I relised that not only had Bart placed a stupid airport on my city but he placed it right next to the military space station. So I'm staring at the planes coming out of the airport, flying around in circles and get shot down straight away by surface to air missiles.

So I go down into my city with my brother and head over to the swamp. Very quietly we sneak over to sea plane sitting in the swamp, we quickly hide as Zombie Man has just stepped out of the plane and is walking our way. Crouching quietly in the dark my brother and I watch as Zombie Man, with his tiny eyes tight together, walks straight past us. Once I'm sure that he's gone I quickly run to the plane, say bye to my brother and fly off.

I made it out of the city and was flying alongside the green cliffs of the coast. I was amazed at the beauty of the coast, no buildings, no people, just nature at its best. Eventually I came to my destination and landed. Upon arrival I was greated a mysterious man. His face was just a silhouette and he was wearing a black panama hat and a very dark brown trench coat. He led me down a stepped path made of rocks through the rainforest to a secret area by the water which was completely covered and hidden by the canopy of the trees. It was a beautiful place and had an almost magical feel to it.

Upon arriving at the secret area the mysterious man disappeared. I looked around and saw a few people and what looked like to be family with two kids. The kids looked sad though and everyone else didn't seem to be at ease. I didn't take any notice of it, and decided to take a look around. I was so happy here, it was such a beautiful place if a little dark. After wondering about for a while I felt like like going for a swim. I started walking leisurely down to the water. As I passed the other people on my way down to the water I saw them staring at me out of the corner of my eye. They seemed a bit odd but nice enough.

Swimming in the water was amazing. It was so clean and crystal clear. It was colder than I usually would have liked but for some reason I didn't mind. In fact, I quite enjoyed the low temperature, it gave me the feeling that I was more connected to nature, that this was what life should be, the simple things. The swimming put me into an almost trance like state it was so relaxing, I was overcome with happiness.

Suddenly the trance was broken, one of the people on the shore screamed at me to, "Get out, quick!" I looked around to try and figure out why I needed to get out so urgently. I looked into the water and saw two dark figures heading towards me from the depths. I quickly swam to the shore and quickly tried to climb up a a big, old fallen tree trunk. I just got onto the tree when these two horrible dinosaur like fish the size of sharks started trying to bite me with their huge teeth.

Luckily for me I was just out of their reach but it was hard to keep a grip on the tree as it was so wide. One of the other men there ran over to help me up but he couldn't reach, he kept telling me to, "Come on! you need to get up." So I tried my hardest to move up the tree, I was becoming exhausted but I got just high enough to reach the man's hand. He pulled me up to safety and we all sat together just watching the two beasts swimming.

One of the beasts spotted a sting ray like creature and picked it up with it's arm like fins. It grabbed each end of the poor creature and stretched it out so far it snapped in two, while it was still alive. The two children were crying and everyone was shocked and deeply disturbed. We all moved in closer to comfort each other.

And that's where the dream ended.
Hope you enjoyed it

I do remember most of my dreams if I really try hard, but the best ones are definately the ultra-real ones.

I remember once trying Lucidity, remember shouting "Increase Lucidity!" in my dream when I became aware that I was dreaming. It didn't work too well as I felt myself wake up... wierd feeling that.

This was a while ago....
I dreamed about a kid crawling through some undergrowth on her hands and knees and there were bugs on the ground around her. Then she put her hand on a Hornet. She then held her hand up and said ow and was almost about to cry when i woke up to the sound of thunder. Believe me, after a creepy dream, waking up to thunder is the last thing to do.

One of my worst nightmares I have ever had..
Well, I lived in a beautiful house, and a rabid peacock had escaped from the zoo. It got inside my house and it saw me, so I ran to my parent's room, and my dog jumped out a window, then the peacock came in and I jumped out the window, too. Then I kept falling down and when I was about to hit the ground I looked up and the peacock had jumped too. I turned over and I saw the ground, and I woke up. There wasn't a lot of dialogue, but it was scary:eek:
Another one was really short but extremely scary. I was at home and it was like 3 in the morning, and my dad woke me up and said we were at worlds end.
I went to my mom's bedroom and I ran as fast as I could but I couldn't reach her, and I was calling her and she couldn't hear me. That night I slept on my parent's bedroom floor.

A rabid PEACOCK chased you?

...What the??!!

As an aside: Here's a really funny blog (http://sleeptalkinman.blogspot.com/)kept by a woman who records her husband's sleep-talking and transcribes it. It's quite hilarious (note there is some language). A few recent gems:

Catch it. Catch it... Use both hands! Its legs are still wiggly! Now clap. (sinister laugh) Niiiiice.

Never before have I had the opportunity to ride one of these wonderful creatures. I'm gonna take it slow, and make it last all day. Mmmm-hmmm. I love saddling up my hamster.

I've got you by the balls. An uncomfortable situation for both of us.... but one I'm going to savor.

EDIT: These are so unbelievably funny. A few more.

You can't do that to a jellyfish. I'm calling the authorities. You dirty jelly molester.

We gotta put a mask on your chicken. You don't want to recognize it. Put glasses on it. Just to be safe.

Ok, apologies for bumping this thread; but I had the most crazy dream earlier.

It was SO realistic.......

I was in Manchester City Centre (near to where I live) just on my own, walking around looking for something to do. I was walking down the high street, just looking in at shop windows until I saw some old friends from High School. I stopped and chatted to them about various things until we decided to go and look around together. Before long we came across a chocolate shop. I peered my head in through the window to get a better view of the things on display, until.

BOOM

Everything went dark.

I could still see, but it was like day had turned to night in an instant. I looked up at the sky to see the moon, glowing brightly in the sky. Slowly a monsters roar built up, until it was deafening. Then, the moon. It split into lots of pieces and the whole world was plunged into darkness.

I could see nothing...all I heard were screams of people around me.

Then I woke up, well and truly freaked out. Ummmm yeah.

Last night I dreamt I was at a carnival alone. I didn't recognize anyone in the crowd until I saw (IDENTITY WITHHELD!). She was wearing a navy blue hoody and her breath could be seen in the cold air. I tried to make my way through the crowd to her, but no matter how hard i tried I couldn't. I felt a hand on my shoulder. It startled me at first until I saw it was (IDENTITY WITHHELD!). He said to me,"Brandon! We've been looking for you. (IDENTITY WITHHELD!) found some girls by the ferris wheel. Well what are you waiting for? Come on!"

I could tell something was strange about the situation. I thought to myself,"How did he know I was here? Why is he acting like we've been hanging out all night?" I shook the thoughts from my head. I felt him tug at my arm, but I ignored it. I wanted to see her one last time before I turned. Something about the way the lights hit her eyes had me in a trance. (IDENTITY WITHHELD!) tugged at my arm again, this time as if angry. I felt myself tearing up, so I hid my face and followed him. I began to question myself again,"Why can he just glide through the crowd? Why is it impossible for me? What am I going to say to these girls when I have her on my mind?" The more I saw (IDENTITY WITHHELD!) move through the crowd, the more my anger grew. I began to push people out of the way onto the ground. They sat and wept. When we were nearing the ferris wheel my conscious kicked in,"Why am I being such an ***hole!" I pressed my hands against my face and started to breath heavily. I calmed down and turned to the people I had just hurt each still weeping. I walked back to them and helped them up, apologizing to all of them.

I hung my head as I made my way back to (IDENTITY WITHHELD!). He was already talking to the girls along with (IDENTITY WITHHELD!). They could obviously tell something was wrong because when I arrived to them one of the girls asked me if everything was alright. I responded with a shallow,"Yeah" The girl I began to talk to was cute. She had beautiful hair, it seemed to dance across her face before she brushed it back. My friend had already started making out with the girl he was talking to. The girl I was talking to noticed and tried to kiss me. It seemed like she was feeling pressured by her friends actions, so I reached my hand into my pocket and fiddled with my phone until it made a beep. I was able to turn my head and act like I was reading a text. I said i had to make a call and that I would be right back. I walked away and sat at a table a ways a way. I thought to myself, "I shouldn't of left her, to sit here. What if she thought it was something she did? Why can't I just forget about (IDENTITY WITHHELD!), she's gone." Out of confusion I slammed my hands against the table.

I started to get up and walk again when I saw (IDENTITY WITHHELD!). She wasn't alone this time, she was with a guy. I felt sick for a second, but followed them. I saw them go behind one of the booths. He was kissing her and putting his hands all over her. I was disgusted. You could tell by the way he was kissing her that it was not out of care or love. They stood there for a second and made their way to a car parked in the field. I knew what was going to happen, so I stopped watching. I walked back to the girl I was talking to earlier. She was kicking up dust, obviously bored. I felt terrible for leaving her alone, and that she felt she had to wait for me out of courtesy. I went up to her, but she seemed annoyed by me. I apologized for running off and said i was hers for the rest of the night. I guess she didn't care because she said she had to leave. She grabbed her friend away from (IDENTITY WITHHELD!) and informed him they were leaving. (IDENTITY WITHHELD!) came up to me enraged and screamed, "Nice going Brandon! You blew it! I was guaranteed to get laid tonight, but you can't help but **** it up can you?!" He had all the right to be angry at me, the girls were gone because of me, but still it angered me the way he was thinking about them. He pushed me and walked away.

I was alone again, but this time feeling terrible. I felt alone, angry and broken. I saw a small child separated from his parents. He was crying with his hands to his mouth and a bitter face. I forgot about my twisted emotions and went to help the child. Somehow i knew who his parents were, or at least knew their faces. Soon we found them and they thanked me. When I saw them I remembered how I knew them. They were (IDENTITY WITHHELD!)'s Aunt and Uncle. She was walking with them when I returned her cousin, she hardly recognized me. I asked, "(IDENTITY WITHHELD!), don't you recognize me? It's Brandon, we went to school together." She seemed excited to see me. She hugged me, asking me how I'd been. I guess I should of felt happy to feel her embrace, but I didn't, not after seeing her with that guy. And it didn't help to see him again returning to her with arms full of food and drinks.

I knew his type, could tell by the way he addressed himself, by the clothes he wore, by the way he ate, by the way he looked me in the eyes. We had been sitting and eating together for awhile after she had introduced me to him. He seemed hostile toward me. After he "accidently" spilled his drink on me he pulled me aside. He brought me to a place not well lit with not very many people. He said he could tell I was going to make a move on (IDENTITY WITHHELD!), and that if I even thought about it he would **** me up. I could tell what he was doing, asserting his dominance, not unnatural for a person like himself. He threw me against the wall and held me there, I didn't say anything, just stared at him. He let go of me, angry that he couldn't make me squeal. As he turned his back to me, I felt the urge to hit him as hard as I could, but I with held it.

I walked back to the table after I wiped off my shirt. I said I had to leave, and he gave me a smug look. I said goodbye to everyone, and thanked them for the food. As I walked away (IDENTITY WITHHELD!) said goodbye one last time. I turned around, smiled, and said, "Bye, love you" to her. At that moment I realized what I just did. "Dumb***!" I said to myself. I could see her "boyfriend" was enraged by that, maybe he saw it as me challenging him, or being a smart***, but honestly it was a mistake. I guess I just said what I had been wanting to, didn't think I would regret it when I did though. I awkwardly turned away and walked to my car. When I was nearing it I was reaching to pull my keys out of my pocket, they were getting tangled up in the mess of change, lint, and my pocket knife. I felt like I was hit by a car. (IDENTITY WITHHELD!)'s "boyfriend" had tackled me to the ground. He started beating me repeatedly, cussing as he spit on me. He started beating my head to the point where I felt dazed. I pulled my pocket knife out of my pocket, opened it up, and stabbed him in the side. His blood ran down the knife and onto my hand. He was to angered to care. I yanked and tore it out of him and tried to focus. He had begun to beat me even harder, and I was finding it hard to breath. I pushed him up slightly and drove the knife into his chest. His eyes widened and his frantic behavior began to calm. I toppled over and repeatedly stabbed him in the chest, I could feel the hate and anger leave my body. it became harder and harder to breath. My hearing was dampened and I saw flashes of light. Soon a cloud of black ensued my vision and i lost consciousness. That's when I woke up. It was a weird dream, felt soooo realistic.

Was this a long post?

A_Morton I think you influenced my dream last night because it had a day to night moment except reversed and involved the moon.

It was a dark dream with some kind of entity opening windows and doors etc that I shut as soon as I turned my back. When windows opened and the curtain blew back, in the small gaps I could see it's eyes which were completely black. My mood was creeped out and then I had a false awakening, it was still night though. My woken self was still freaked out but more rational. None of the lights seemed to work, even the light on my pc monitor was really dim. I saw my blind slightly up and could see out into the darkness, I pulled it shut, just in case Some time later I saw light suddenly beam in through the edges of my blind, I pulled it up to see what was happening. It looked like day but the light wasn't as strong as the sun. I looked toward the source and it was the moon. But it was absolutely huge! Right before the light I felt a thud so I thought the moon had collided with the Earth. Just next to it though, through some trees, looked like the normal moon so we had two moons if this was the case. The dream went on and eventually on the news I heard a giant ice sculpture of the moon crashed into where I live which reflected a lot of light seemingly. It came from Vegas apparently(yes it doesn't make sense both temperature and the fact the coast is facing the wrong way for both of us but then did dreams ever make sense? Also I'm playing Dead Rising 2, I think that influenced that bit lol).

read it... dude i had a similar dream a few years back but it was not as violent in the end (I dont own a pocket knife) I had a 3 foot chain i beat the guy, who oddly was my best friend at the time with... and the girl was my friend from elementary school.

im a pacifist so dreams where i actually go and hurt people scare me a tad.

Ok, this is a quick post because it was a quick dream. I dozed off in my bed while listening to music and started to dream that I went into the kitchen and started to make some chicken (I guess I am hungry?). I have a gas stove, so you don't want to leave it unattended for to long. Anyway, I woke up and freaked out because I thought something could of caught on fire, so I jumped out of my bed (tripped), and went into the kitchen. I turned on the light and noticed that there was nothing the way it was before i dozed off, so I started to get creeped out. I soon realized that it was just a dream though, thought it was real though.

The saddest part about this dream was, no chicken...

I had another dream that seemed pretty vivid. This one seemed happy...

From what I can remember from the dream, I was at a log cabin like house near a HUGE lake, apparently home to a party. There was loud music playing in the background and the bass shook the windows. I felt a little uneasy sitting in the corner by myself waiting for my friends to arrive, but never the less, I laid back and had a drink. I was able to observe the scene for a moment. There was a herd of people gathered in the middle of the living room, dancing and having fun. I noticed no one in my dream was wearing shoes, they all had bare feet. I felt like I knew everyone there, but I couldn't for the life of me recognize them. I shook myself from my thoughts and got up from the corner I was slouched in.

I went to a back room that was vastly different from the first, almost like a mini concert (because it was). When I was walking to the next room I noticed that I had bare feet too. The music from the first room disappeared and I felt intoxicated by a beautiful sound. The music seemed like a mix of the Kings of Leon, U2, and The Beatles. Unfortunately I can't remember the song only that it had verses that went like,"And I'm gonna be fine, my love, my divine spirit..." and,"So I am off to greater shores, (The Horizon!) To the city of neon fields (The Horizon!)..." I can't remember what came after that but I know I started singing a long to it, as everyone did, seemingly in harmony. I felt at peace, like I was completely freed, it was amazing. The band that was playing set down their instruments and began to relax with everyone else.

I heard my name among the army of noises, it was my friend (IDENTITY WITHHELD!). I gave his shoulder a firm grasp as we greeted each other. He had driven almost all my friends to the party in a red pick up truck. I saw everyone getting out, and as they did, they took off their shoes and placed their wallets in the back of the pick up truck. The truck backed out (without a driver), and behind followed an ambulance that I had just noticed. They all ran inside with a bounce in their step and we joked and played stupid games involving, lighters, salt, and lots of beer. The night seemed to last forever, but I only remember parts. I remember that I broke a window in the house because i was playing baseball with pool-balls, I played a few songs on the guitar in a quiet room with a group of people i didn't recognize (we were all kind of out of it), a dude fell off the roof when (IDENTITY WITHHELD!) bet him he couldn't do a back flip (for some reason he thought the higher he got, the easier it would be for him to do a backflip drunk), and someone drove their car into the lake when they pulled in (there's a steep hill leading to the lake).

The next thing I remember, the night had calmed down. What was once flashing neon lights had become soft glowing candles and the music had become very...warm, heartfelt? I don't know...just...calming. I was down on the shore of the lake with all of my friends just talking. I held a girl in my arms who was obviously tired from the night. I can't remember where she came from, and she didn't look familiar, but still I let her rest. I spoke with my closest friend, (IDENTITY WITHHELD!) about life and I can remember him saying,"It's all but over unless you want it to be finished quickly" I like that quote. I stopped to admire the scenery. The lake now seemed like an ocean, and went on forever, but still I could see the sliver of a city. The lights of the city danced around like diamonds being shaken in a glass jar, it was beautiful. Other than that sliver of city and that house, the rest of the world was forest, lush and green. Everything was...perfect. I didn't feel pain or misery, nor did concern myself with it.

I could now only here the sounds of nature, which was music in itself. The girl in my arms drifted deeply into sleep as I felt her steady breathing on my neck. I grabbed a blanket from out of nowhere and carefully placed her snug in the chair with it. I walked up the steep hill to my car, on my journey there I noticed everyone was in the deepest sleep imaginable, lying all over the ground, anywhere really. My car was the red pick up truck, it was filled with shoes. I laughed for a moment at the silly sight, but for some reason I picked up each pair and placed them back on the feet of their owners as they slept (somehow I knew who's shoes were who's). I couldn't find (IDENTITY WITHHELD!), (IDENTITY WITHHELD!), (IDENTITY WITHHELD!), or my shoes. I turned around from the truck and saw everyone was gone except for (IDENTITY WITHHELD!),(IDENTITY WITHHELD!),(IDENTITY WITHHELD!), that one girl, and me, so I went down to the shore where they lay and laid down next to that girl. I slowly fell asleep...

That's when I woke up, still felt as happy as I was in my dream until I realized it was only a dream.

Usually I have what you kiddies call now-a-days "nightmares". However, in these so called "nightmares", my mind always finds a way to make it end the way I want it. Almost like I have the power to control my nightmares.

However, I never had a full dream where I wasn't trying to be killed... except one time, but it involved a girl dancing in a graveyard, which was actually the one (if not the only) to have woken me up scared and confused. I'm actually getting small chills thinking about it, but I don't know why. I swear I have seen her before, but I can't remember where.

I had a dream I met James Spafford (http://www.mediamolecule.com/about/whos_who/#Spaff) and Alex Evans (http://www.mediamolecule.com/about/whos_who/#Alex) of Media Molecule at some city in a underground parking garage area, there were others there, and the two I were showing off LBP2 to them.

I was talking to Spaff, then Alex Evans got onto the ground, huddled up, and began to weep and moan because he said he wanted to get back to work so badly...he must love his job!

It was a strange dream...

I had two dreams.

In one, I was looking at a Labrador. It then turned into a pit bull and attacked me... I think...

In the other, I tried on my school uniform and it was too small.

I'm boring.

i remember one-

Me and my family were in a car driving through a park, with a trailer and a mattress. Suddenly, a black cat jumps on the mattress. It blankly stares at us, then when we drive out the park it jumps off... The next day we are driving through the park with a mattress in a trailer. The cat jumps back on and stares at us again. Then i climb out of the car and sit on the mattress. The cat stares at me for a few seconds then leaps towards me. Then the nightmare ends..... I was around 5-7 when i repeatedly had this dream.

I had a dream once, now sit and listen as if I was some old guy standing in the road, telling you the meaning of life.

The Story I have to tell

I was walking down this random street in summer nad I saw a green light, I continued walking into it, and then I
walked into a roundabout, throwing cars everywhere, and generally kicking *** to the song Rockstar by Nickleback. Then a random guy ran at me (like a suicide grunt from Halo) and attacked me. and THEN... I woke up.

You may continue with your daily Life.

It's 42!!!!

Ugh. I don't remember much of my dream, but I was being chased by vampires. Just when I thought I was done for, they started to sparkle and talk about their feelings and thoughts for hours and hours. It was awful.2010-10-27 16:54:00

In my dream I was with my buddy, talking about music. I was saying how I actually started to like some of his music a little bit (we have very different tastes.) Then when I woke up, the guy was actually there in my room!

He'd come over for a bit before he had to go to work! I think he just watched me sleep for a while and talked to me, trying to alter my dream to his musical tastes! XD

This happened a few weeks ago:

So first off, I'm sitting in a classroom, listening to the teacher. Then, a kid runs in and says that Mrs. (Undisclosed 70+ year old) is pregnant. The teacher I was listening too just says, "So." Then the kid yells, "But shes like 90 years old!" My teacher then begins to morph into Mrs. (Undisclosed because I'm scared of her, 70+ year old). And of course, the teacher eats me. Anytime I dream of a teacher, the teacher eats me. Every time! The strange thing is, it's always Mrs. (Undisclosed 70+ year old) because she is quite round and is not attractive whatsoever...

I won't go tickling her any time of day because that will result in some nomnom-ing.

Strange...

Not possible... I don't think...
Well I had a dream that one of my friends was the Prime minister, and that I would text him and ask how the country is doing, there were many more components, but I'll just leave it at that.

I often have dreams where I am either: trying to fly, trying to escape something or dodging falling objects. These I most often remember. Also, when I was younger I achieved lucidity quite often, at least, they were the dreams I always remembered. Sometimes I repeat dreams in my sleep, and change what I do each time (kind of like multiple endings), which always feels strange.

I had a dream I woke up while I was having an operation (one of my biggest fears was having anaesthetic failing on me) and I just was not bothered. Now operations never scare me. Weird. The best dreams I have are where I actually manage to fly, something I mostly try desperately, but hardly ever achieve in dreams.

I've had a few bad reoccurring nightmares in the past. Basically:

I'm in a room, and its got cement walls, no windows, and the door is on a ledge. The door gets closed when I'm inside, and It's pitch black and I'm all alone and I think they forgot about me. I bang on the door yelling HELLO continuously. HOWEVER, I sleep in a pitch black room, and I actually wake up during this process. But I don't realise it D: So in reality, instead of climbing onto a ledge banging on the door yelling hello for help, my mum opens the door and I've climbed half into my wardrobe banging on the back of it yelling hello at the top of my voice at like 5 in the morning D: D: D:

In fairness, it's hilarious to laugh about after.

The second time it happened my bro shouted 'RYAN! YOU'RE IN YOUR ROOM. GO TO SLEEP!' and instantly I was fine LOL.

That's just life's crude way of coming back to kick you in the gut

EDIT: Okay, I lied >.<

Your brain often runs through scenarios when you think of things. And you almost always dream of whatever you think about before you finally fall asleep!

Not sure if I've already said this here, but you can only remember dreams if you run through them as you wake up. That's because your long term memory switches off during sleep, leaving your short term memory to record what you're dreaming about! That also explains why it's the last thing you thought about that makes it into your dream!

Rated PEGI 16+, I'm afraid I cant tell you

But seriously, most of them don't make sense and I forget them so I still can't tell you. sometimes they end up being about LBP, however.

I learned how to lucid dream at will a few weeks ago, it's pretty fun. I haven't been chanting to myself "I will have a lucid dream", reading about lucid dreaming or eating bananas before going to bed, which seem to be the most common techniques. Instead, I will just say to myself in any dream or nightmare that I am having one and I suddenly have control. It's weird. I haven't been able to summon my subconscious yet, but I'll keep trying.

You guys should keep a dream journal by your bed, it's pretty useful. The moment you wake up, run to it and record anything you can remember before you forget it. I read about any dreams I've had before going to bed and then I'm able to continue them. It's great for when you have a really awesome dream and want to have it again.

I actually find myself dreaming about playing games that don't even exist. Then, I record them and think about how I could transfer them to LBP2. That's actually how I came up with both of my shooter ideas.

i remember a nightmare i had when i was like... 5 i'll NEVER forget it. (thanks kindergarten teacher for the nightmare!)
so i was in the classrooom, and we had this rolling board. I walked behind it and saw a hole in the floor with bones in the shape of a dog. a woman walks out and says it's a dalmatian (they were my favorite animal back then) i ran outside the school and turned around to see that it was on fire. i go to a fire station and yell,"the school's on fire!" i see a fireman in a chair with his backed turned to me. I tapped on his shoulder, and I heard a creak as he turned his neck around. It was a skeleton in a fireman suit. So I run home to ask my mom to drive me to another. We get in a car and drive by a house with a blue ball stuck in the bushes. My mo stops, gets out of the car to get the ball. She went inside the house with the bushes and I heard a scream.

Then I woke up yea, we were talking about jobs like veterenarian, police, fire man, etc. that day in kindergarten. so i blame my teacher

I used to try really hard to get into a lucid dream. The only time I ever had one, I didn't realise it until I woke up!

I was trying to have one for weeks, trying to control myself before I fell asleep, reading up about it ect. Then, one night as I was falling asleep, I got up out of bed and turned off my PS3, then went back to 'sleep'....only I didn't. When I woke up, I remembered that my PS3 was never on in the first place, so the whole thing was a lucid dream!

Man, what a waste!

i had one of those before. I was helping a relative beat a DS game. I eventually fell asleep and 'woke' up and played it more. When I actually woke up, my fingers were moving around pushing buttons on an invisible DS. 2010-10-31 06:11:00

That's awesome! You and me are much alike my friend.

However, I decided for the majority of my dreams to run wild. Usually they all consist of something trying to kill or hurt me, so I just let it go wild and I join in on the "fight". BUT, once in a while I get a repetitive one, so I just control it and do whatever I want. Just last time I got bored of a tornado chasing us, so what I did was I told myself I was having a dream and I automatically took control of it. Next thing I knew, I was inside of the tornado flying at high speeds!

Seriously guys, try it. It's fun... the dream thing, not actually riding a tornado.

I like controlling my dreams, I often decide when to wake up. Btw: There are methods to make dreams last longer (I forget what they are ), no more waking up from awesome dreams again!2010-10-31 11:41:00

Try to not get too excited, as that is the worst thing that can happen in a lucid dream. The dream will go by faster, or you will suddenly wake up.2010-10-31 17:13:00
