If you could add any tags to the game what would they be? | 2009-10-27 17:57:00 Author: jackofcourse ![]() Posts: 1494 |
I'd like to see genre tags that the creator can add themselves to tag their own level. ^_^ | 2009-10-27 18:05:00 Author: xkappax ![]() Posts: 2569 |
Hm... it's been a while since we've had one of these, and I can't find the original, so... Logical Spam Classic Survival | 2009-10-27 18:06:00 Author: comphermc ![]() Posts: 5338 |

i'd just like to see a scrollable list rather than a 6 seemingly random picks which i have to keep pushing square to find the one i wanted, some times you just give up and skip or select the one you really didnt want. | 2009-10-27 18:37:00 Author: deboerdave ![]() Posts: 384 |

A scrolling alphabetical list would be much better. I think the way it's set up at the moment is the reason we get so many weird tags because players ( especially younger ones ) just can't be bothered looking for the one they want. I find it really annoying myself having to trawl through page after page of tags taking ages to find the one you want and I must admit I sometimes just give up and skip it altogether. As for additional tags I'm not really sure what's there and what's not now because it's so random but if they aren't there how about: Fantastic Awesome Excellent Dreamy Perfect Fabulous Hot Summery Wintery Ethereal and maybe a few for future use such as: Wet Watery Splashy Boats Fishy | 2009-10-27 20:21:00 Author: mistervista ![]() Posts: 2210 |

I had a failed thread a while back that tried to piece together an agreed-upon list of tags that could be implemented. I'll go ahead and copy-and-paste what I put down on that long-gone day. the main thing with tags is that I think you should be able to BROWSE by category, or at least set up detailed filters, so you can make a filter for "platformers" that are "3/5 difficulty or easier" that are "holiday-themed", for example. Good way to pick out halloween levels. Firstly, categories. I think a level should be taggable in several distinct categories. Genre Horror, Action, Racing, Adventure, RPG, Puzzle, Music, Survival, Platformer... etc. Difficulty Every publisher should be required to define a difficulty for their levels. I love in Rock Band quick play mode, how every single song lists a scale of 0-6 difficulty for each instrument. Perfect. Content I think there should be a SIZEABLE list of content tags. As I try to come up with them, many fit tags that are currently in the tagging system. But I do think that you should be able to choose from certain tags for your level. Some good examples are already found in the main game's tag system. Atmospheric Story Holiday-themed Epic Remake/Adaptation obviously, this isn't my comprehensive list, just a little smattering of ideas. | 2009-10-28 01:00:00 Author: Teebonesy ![]() Posts: 1937 |

After some of the levels I played tonight, there definitely needs to be an "incomplete" or "unfinish-able" tag. ![]() | 2009-10-28 03:18:00 Author: xkappax ![]() Posts: 2569 |
After some of the levels I played tonight, there definitely needs to be an "incomplete" or "unfinish-able" tag. ![]() Yeah, I've often wanted something along the lines of a "broken", or "needs repair" type of tag. It would be a shame to have your level plastered by that and then be stuck with it even after you fix it, though... | 2009-10-28 03:37:00 Author: Teebonesy ![]() Posts: 1937 |
Yes, that is true, I hadn't thought of that. hmm... | 2009-10-28 03:44:00 Author: xkappax ![]() Posts: 2569 |
I never tag a level, I usually skip this part and it's basically a habit. If the way we got to pick tags was improved then I might care about this tag system. Needs Work Copied Epic H4H Sucks! | 2009-10-28 04:42:00 Author: TheFirstAvenger ![]() Posts: 787 |

Hmm... tags, ratings... it may be possible to combine both along with the genre prefix that a few here have mentioned already. So, you create a puzzle level. As creator, you author tag it within the 'Puzzle' genre. There are no stars, only a 1 to 10 rating. And there are preset definitions as to what tag your level gets dependant on it's aggregate score. For example, your level... "Your Puzzle Level" is genre-tagged as 'Puzzle', has an aggregate rating of 7.2, and it's automated tag is 'Very Good'. Of course, it's open to similar use/abuse as we have now, but no tags to falsely put people off or falsely advertise. And yes, people could use the '10 if I like it, 1 if I don't' system, but it's just another idea to throw into the mix. ![]() | 2009-10-28 22:50:00 Author: MrsSpookyBuz ![]() Posts: 1492 |
