Ladder's in a new Creator Pack?

Archive: 14 posts

Well ever since I have played Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage, I have fallen in love with ladder obstacles....jumping from ladder to ladder avoiding falling boulders and jet streams from below...

Yet I have yet to see a ladder addon for LBP

Maybe it could be like a rod addon and you can put how many sack people it can hold before it breaks at a set time...and also you can change what material it could be like wooden for a jungle and metal for a factory.

So yeah I think I am the first person to think this could actually be a cool idea for LBP...

PS: I forgot to mention the obstacles you can use with them but I think others can figure out what to make with them...

Yeah I thought other people would have thought of the idea but I wasn't exactly sure at the time I made the thread today...2009-10-27 13:20:00

Climbable objects are definitely a must for some future DLC. Ladders, iron posts, ropes and lianas - those would be a nice addition.2009-10-27 19:12:00

As much as I would love to have a pack like this...I would still like to see people use their creativity when it comes to climbing up a 45cm building 2009-10-27 22:40:00

I have mixed feelings on this. I could see the use of these in some cases, while in others using creativity to create your own way up for your levels is nice.

There is a technique that expert players use called 'wall climbing' which is where if two straight up and down walls are close enough to each other you can jump repeatedly and somehow the game reads the walls as footing and the jump button activates as a cause of this, but if you stop jumping or your jumps aren't rhythmed right, then you'll fall all the way to the bottom.

I had working ladders in a level I started making once, but just like most of my other levels....It never got finished lol

It worked quite well, you basically just stood in front of the ladder and rose to the top with some invisible magic

But proper ladders and ropes and fireman poles would be a great addition

Maybe not a ladder, but a grab-able material that you can climb all over.2009-10-29 23:47:00

I saw ladders in a Mm video presenting an early prototype of LittleBigPlanet. The gameplay was also 3D instead of the 2.5D we have right now.

But, back to the topic, I do think climbable objects would be neat, though it would remove the challenge for the creator to make a method to traverse steep slopes themselves.

Also, what's a liana?

people never use creative methods to get up high, they just have a elevator or a ball on a winch

Some people actually use creative methods. But I'm pretty sure those creators would continue to use creative methods even after the ladders are out.

What do you mean in your post, I mean would you prefer ladders like this:

|----|
|----|

Or sideways ladders?

If ladders were added on, they could be used to great effect. An example of this could be a boss that you have to climb up to defeat.2009-10-31 11:32:00
