Level Description: The evil Retro Head ordered the mad scientist to build a collection of robotic army. His prime objective is world domination. You must infiltrate the factory, locate Retro Head and defuse his sinister mind.

Difficulty: Medium/Hard, can be done with one life but much skills needed. For the Elite. :kz:

Single Player Recommended [multi make things alot harder]

Unfortunately my level is affected by the "search engine" bug, it can't be searched. Therefore input my PSN id 'yuukun_uk' and click on my old level, then look for more levels by Author, from there you should able to see Robot Carnival.

I have a video on youtube which I won't post here, it's a walkthrough and will spoil the fun. The video shown me dying four times before completing it. Can you beat my record?

The name Robot Carnival is inspired by 1987's Japanese anime which featured a handful of shorts directed by different directors. Although the level itself have nothing related or any similarities between the anime. The "carnival" is the level's journey containing only robotic theme, not your usual carnival i must say. 2009-10-26 22:13:00

I loved it up till near the end of the first boss. You did a great job on almost everything until that point.

I couldn't finish the level due to a bug. The part of the second boss that shot the bullets got stuck in that hole on the bottom of the screen. I didn't want to replay because it was a little too frustrating.

The Good
- I loved the atmosphere up to the jetpack part, very cool, you obviously put a lot of effort in it.
- Challenge felt about right up to the jetpack part.
- Pretty much the level was just plain epic up until the jetpack portion.
- - Although I thought the rotating maze was cool.

The Bad
- Everything after the first boss just felt tacked on to create artificial length. Like it should have just ended after the first boss.
- The bosses felt like they relied to much on chance then skill.
- Everything after the first boss felt rushed visually, and the near the end I actually wondered if I was playing the same level.

Overall cool level.

Is this the hole at the bottom on the right side (in the square red & green room)? i know what you mean, it's a 10-15% chance it does this and it's not an easy fix because I looked into it before and I have improved it. Thanks for notify this problem.

I know what you mean, infact myself have quite a few criticism on my own level, although it's done and dusted and won't be changed at all. I will put my time to make my 3rd level which will be completely different to what i've done so far.

One of the reason why it felt like a different level during second part. Let me explain, the first half it's the junk yard and second half entering high security to the master area which had a clean look overall. however, the design is very different due to my long break in between. you see, the whole of the first boss and second half is made last Christmas 2008 (MGS pack), which was left for 9 months before I revived it, my creativity had change during this time as you can see the differences, although there is no excuses for the lack of intergration. I will of course learn from this not to leave unfinished levels for such a lengthy time because I almost forgotten how to use the tools. :blush:

Actually, I was referring specifically to when the robots start shooting out the green bullets in almost random patterns. Although, that video video is going to make me rethink that statement.

Yes, I was aiming for randomness, you need to be highly alert since there is no pattern. I'm not a fan on pattern attacks, much prefer the flexibility to choose the right spacing when to dodge.

I know how you feel, I did intented to set the level in high difficulty. I'm a R-type and Contra player, nothing is hard compared to those classic games.

the bug is now fixed, along with a few adjustments on the final boss.
