The Jeff Dunham Show

Archive: 7 posts

Do you think Jeff Dunham's new show, "The Jeff Dunham Show", is good?

I personally thought it was 50% funny, and 50% lacking. I guess he should stick with stand up shows instead, but who knows. It seems a pretty descent show to me.

His Stand Up will always be better.

Comedy Central butchers good comedians by giving them a crappy show.

Demetri Martin: Funny stand up, stupid show.
Daniel Tosh: Funny stand up, crappy show.

They kill comedians. Hopefully Jeff Dunham will be able to overcome it, cause I really like his stand up.

The part of the episode I did watch was. . eh. I'll have to watch it again, I was listening to music lol. Didn't seem too funny though. I saw a lot of corn. And corn is not good in comedy. (corny jokes)

The only Comedian they did not butcher was Dave Chappelle. But then he butchered himself and went to Africa so. .

I essentially agree with ChristmasJew on this one. It's just too...contrived. I like stand-up comedy because while it's scripted, there's enough ad-libbing to keep it feeling natural and spontaneous. The comedian tells a joke, the audience reacts, then the comedian continues based on the audience's reaction. With a television show, there's none of that "back and forth" that makes comedy so great. Instead, it's just pre-scripted "funny" lines and jokes that come off feeling robotic and forced. I definitely won't be watching it again.2009-10-24 06:06:00

I don't think any of Jess Dunhams stuff is funny.
In my area everyone suddenly went obsessed with that Akmed the Terrorist thing and wouldn't shut up about it, so i searched for the clip and i didn't even get a smile from it.

I also tried watching the full show incase it was about context but i couldn't make it to the end, there wasn't one moment that struck me as funny.

I like Jeff Dunham and got the spark of insanity DVD. It was pretty good. I haven't seen the show, but from what I have just read, I probably wont.2009-10-24 12:43:00

I love his Walter character, that is the only one I truly enjoy seeing.
The fact that he got his own show is new to me though, I'm off to google the heck out of it.

I agree. I said it myself, he's more or likely a stand up guy, not a television acter.

Peanut is funny in my opinion. I liked the part when he said:

Peanut: "Holy ****, you almost dropped him. That would have been as funny as ****!"
Jeff: "How?"
Peanut: "What do you get from two dancers on a jalepeno on the floor? Salsa!"
