Archive: 6 posts

ahhhh
my nintendo died(for people that think im talking about the wii or the compony no i mean an original 1985 nintendo)
yup just got the green screen of death this morning. i was also using it to make a egsact lvl recreation on lbp but she died

but theres stiil hope. my diagnosis of it is ither my conectors are bad or the **** lockout chip is fried. so im hunting down the parts i need and was wonder if anybody would know how much it would cost.

ohnestly though close to 30 years of playing, abuse and inproper storage and it still ran until now. thats inpressiv considering the average lifespan of todays consoles it 10 years with perfect handeling.

People usually refer to that console as the "NES" (short for Nintendo Entertainment System). Using that name will make your search for parts a lot easier than using Nintendo.

There seem to be some parts on ebay, though many are simply broken NES consoles sold "as is" for cannibalizing parts (which may or may not contain the parts you need). If going the ebay route always be extra careful to deal only with trustworthy sellers.

Otherwise, maybe some console-modding sites would have good references?

They dont build em like they used to

I'd say there are a lot of enthusiasts out there that could fix it up for you. It would be a shame to let something like that die. I still love my super nintendo (still working). I so mad I sold my spectrum!

I've found a self-repair article on classicgaming.

Hope that helps.

"todays consoles" are only there since 4 years and they already are failing. I WISH they would last 10 years with perfect handling but I would even doubt that.
