While working the night shift at the construction site, the cranes begin to malfunction- with you below!
Evade the falling cinder blocks, metal beams, explosives and more while collecting points for a high score!

Hey Everyone, got a new level for you to try out. It's a pretty basic bomb survival, but its got a rusty, construction theme with some obstacles thrown in for a tougher challenge. This includes cinder blocks, metal beams, tools and bags of cement. Took me a few hours to make it. Have fun, be harsh, do what you gotta do.

Some before and after photos to show the theme. Action shots got a little difficult so I skipped it.

Judging by your pics, this looks like a quality (bomb) survival. I'll skip the "oh noez, moar bombs" part because actually, even if it will most certainly not get the "original" and "innovative" tags from my side, being a bomb survival doesn't automatically make it a bad level.

I'm gonna check this out as soon as possible, trying to deliver some quality feedback. I'm kind of a survival addict myself, both in terms of creating and playing, so I guess this is the right level for me. Oh, and brillant use of the "sackdoll torso"!

Thanks for not writing it off for being a bomb challenge. Honestly, I haven't created a level in a while now, and my creative juices aren't flowing properly, so I wanted to get one out there. Let me know what you think and don't hold back.

Visuals:

I kinda liked the look of your level. It fits your description. Nice light effects, too. I think it is a bit too dark though (on a plasma TV with neutral gamma setting). You could add more details in the thin front layer. Nothing big or eye-catching; just some stuff to make it look more interesting.

I strongly recommend building your own bombs (or re-stickering the Mm ones). They just don't fit in the scenery.

Gameplay:

First off, I wouldn't call this level a "bomb survival". The classic, over-used bomb survival consists of entirely explodable flooring, a whole lot of bombs and some point bubbles.

I really like the gameplay. There's quite a similiar survival challenge, "Phenomenal Frantic Factory" by PSN user steve_big_guns. I recommend checking it out as well.

I found a few flaws in your level though; once, I got gasified out of no reason. I was just standing on the floor, dodging bombs, and suddenly... pfff and gone. I think it was black gas, not sure though.

I like the additional stuff dropping down!

On a side note, you could add some logics to enable re-activating the "wall of fame". In order to see it a second time after either releasing the cube or pressing triangle, you'd have to completely restart the level. Let an emitter emit an auto-activated cutscene mouth on a piece of DM each time you grab it (One Shot, max. 1 at a time) and there you go.


Sound:

This level lacks some music. Seriously. Add some music. Please. The sound effects are nice though.


Not a bad level, but you should get rid of that "random and sudden death gas", as it really ruins gameflow. I'm looking forward to playing an updated version!
