so im playing uncharted 2 online and i found like literly10(no affence intended)8 yearolds with mics going on saying that uncharted is a gears of war rippoff. the samething with the kids at school who never evan played either game. seriously what did uncharted rippoff the most comman i herd was uncharted coppied the cover and blindfire systems. well in my mind if uncharted copied it than so did gta4 kz2 and just about every other game of 2008/09. can someone please elaborate

Well, you can't really deny that the two games share SOME similarities. But there's no way Uncharted is a ripoff of Gears of War. If you want a prime example of rip-offs, go look at Square's portfolio during their pre-Final Fantasy days.

The game is rated +16 here in Finland, and in all Europe I think... And I was about 7 when I played GTA 2...

Well, uninformed people will shout anything their retarded mind can think of I suppose. Add immaturity to the mix and that's really bad. Gears of War didn't invent anything. They took their gameplay directly from Killswitch, a very nice but unpopular game in the PS2/Xbox era. Also, games of the same GENRE will always be similar. I mean, there's a handful of games now and then that creates new stuff but let's face it, most games fall into a well-knowed category and that's all. A new platformer with a hero that jumps on ennemies isn't a coopycat of Mario. .

If these kids think Uncharted 2's cover system was based on Gears of War's cover system, they're probably right to a point. I'm sure Naughty Dog drew from all sorts of sources, GoW included. Does that mean it's a ripoff? No way. If every well-developed system could only be implemented in one franchise to be considered "original", then every FPS released to date is simply a ripoff of Wolfenstein 3D. Aren't you still in high school, "kid"? The irony... I'm in high school as well and, from my point of view, his statement is pretty accurate (with some exceptions, of course).

i have a 12 and an eleven year old and they think the game is awesome. but if i said to them that the game was a ripoff or this is bad or that is bad, they will follow my every word. So my assumption is that some kid's older brother was goofing off, or is just the epitome of NOOB and copied him. you know how younger siblings like to look up to the older siblings
