Quite an inaccurate, unreliable and inefficient way to create escalators. I recommend working with (DM)-(Stiff Piston)-(Escalator Element) combinations. In order for this to work smoothly, you might want to build your escalator horizontally (grid mode + pistons) - just move the single triangle elements from left to right using stiff pistons at a constant speed (inverted directional non-active switch of any kind) on a flat, horizontal surface. Let them spawn and dissolve at the right spots (at the right interval, of course), and you'll get a smooth, quite thermo-friendly, reliable contraption.

ye i agree with Treas this takes up quite a bit of thermo and all you need is a conveyor belt with triangles hidden behind a wall and you have an escalator
