http://img113.imageshack.us/img113/9418/creete01.jpgA high-speed racing level for 1-4 sacks. This level has lots of obstacles which speed you up, allowing you to run super-fast and jump super-far!

I wanted to make a level that involved running at very very high speeds, allowing you to maintain your momentum as you skid along the floor and jump ridiculous distances. Creete is that level! It's got a lot of stunts, and if you're really really good, you can zip through the entire level without stopping, running faster than any sack thought possible.

It's also got a handful of standard gadgets - spinners, crushers, and bumpers. But I think I used them in some really cool ways. For example, in a few places the spinners can be used to turn a corner really fast - or they'll be hanging from a ceiling, to help you gain momentum when you're running down a hallway. Crushers are always deadly obstacles - but sometimes you can let them push you to gain speed.

The level has a mere 160 plays - and about 120 of those plays are me and my friend Marvin, trying to beat eachothers' best times. It's really addictive for us! I hope you enjoy it too. So if you enjoy the level, consider playing it a couple of times to see if you can figure out all of its tricks! There's cool stuff here.

Looking at the description, this seems to be the perfect level for me. I really like the "gain and keep momentum" gameplay, built a level around that myself. I'm definitely gonna give this one a go!2009-10-19 09:06:00

Hey thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed the whole "keeping your momentum" gameplay mechanism! Now i'm curious to look at the level and see how you scored :-D I bet you made some people in the top ten look bad!!

Checked it out tonight and the momentum concept is really neat. I unfortunately am not very good at it though. I liked the bumpers and the way you can fling sackboy around but since I spent a lot of the level trying to get back up to speed and not so much flinging and flying I had a tough time of it. The color and texture of that peachy sandy colored metallic material is interesting but compared to your other levels which are just beautifully lit and designed this one felt really flat to me. I suppose if I were flying through it I might not have time to notice but alas... I did. I'd rate this one 4 stars overall but I can totally see why players would love to race through this one.2009-10-20 05:18:00

I agree, it's fairly flat texturewise - this was partially out of laziness and partially out of not wanting to sabotage peoples' hand-eye coordination with crazy distractions :d I'm curious how a level like this would look and play differently, if it were busier visually!

I'm glad you liked the concept, i hope someone else with a closer eye for aesthetics can steal this idea and run with it! (or heck, they can copy the level and decorate it themselves )

Had one heck of a fun time playing this level. Got on #5 on my first playthrough. However, I decided tryin' to get a better score and ended up in playing your level for about half an hour non-stop. Got #3 with 21660 points.

I LOVE it. And... I want more of it!

Simple elements put together, creating a mirror's edge-like experience. Truly great

For a next level, I'd recomment getting rid of all unnatural edges and building a whole level based on grid-mode shapes and grid-mode corner editing. Like the mirror's edge addon. With your skill in creating momentum-based obstacles and chains, I can clearly see potential for a great abstract speed challenge.

:star::star::star::star::star: and hearted.

Wow! Sounds like you got hooked too 21,660 is a really good score, congrats!

I'll have to think of some fun new obstacles if I decide to do another level like this. I wouldn't want to just rehash all the same ideas. But i like where you're coming from!
