Hi, I'm Seiryuki

Archive: 12 posts

My PSNID is Seiryuki2002, and I love to create things. LittleBigPlanet is just one game that I can express my creativity in.

I'm a perfectionist and, as a result, I spend a lot of time trying to get my creations as perfect as they can be. Hence, I tend to get disappointed because of the limited features of a creation tool e.g. In LBP, I really hate that thermometer ^_^.

As of October 2009, I have created just one level, but I am very glad as to how it turned out. The title is:
"The Experiment" by Sudesh
This level wasn't designed with the LBP community in mind because it is an 'experiment' for me to determine the maximum creativity that a LBP stage can withstand. Hence, it is a guide for my future levels.

(I'm sorry, but I sometimes interchange the word 'level' with 'stage', as I prefer to use the word 'stage&apos.

However, that doesn't mean that I didn't put any effort into "The Experiment".
The level was designed around my style of gaming. I wanted to add everything I liked into the mix, making the mixture non-pretty. There are creatures that I designed and created myself. The puzzles were all designed by me. The gameplay has the old-ResidentEvil keys-style of influence mixed with some gun-play of MetalSlug. TombRaider-styled environmental puzzles were added as well.
In the end, the mixture does fairly well together and I got my answer to the max of a LBP stage. I have also learned how to work with the LBP creation tools because of this 1st level.

There is some difficulty to the level, but after a few tries, it gets very easy and the secret boss creature is the main draw of this level and my creature-designing skills. (I love animals BTW, just like Mr. Fumito Ueda).
Please try my level and tell me what you think. I can't improve on it as it is completely maxxed-out. Remember to set "Collect Community Prizes" ON to get the in-game secret sticker-keys to unlock the secret boss creature. You can turn it off afterwards if you don't want the game's finishing prizes.

I am currently working on a new stage that is very dark and maybe a bit bloody *gross* (as I tend to be realistic at anything). It will not be like my first level. There will be almost no difficulty and it will be a bit unique because it uses the theme of "Different Things Happen Each Time You Re-Play". Actually, it is not difficult to achieve and a player will only notice the changes during their second/third playthrough or by their collaboration with others on the stage. This would mean that if a player just plays the level once, they my find it artistic but lacking something. That something is the theme I mentioned above. I'm aiming to finish it by Christmas or earlier as it is currently in paper-based design.

Thanks, and I look forward to comments regarding my "The Experiment" level. Remember, I cannot make any improvements and I'm done with it. However I welcome thoughts/ideas still. More importantly, try to reach the secret boss creature "Sudesaurus", as that would indicate that you have truly 'played-through' my mixed designs of the level. (Hint: There are two ways to approach the Sudesaurus; by foot is one way.)

Again, thanks.
Seiryuki.
