500 xp challenge - part two - donations

Archive: 18 posts

OK, so part 2 of my treasure-hunt-***-puzzle-stravaganza is ready. All I need do is flick the switch. Don't worry, it won't be until tomorrow evening. Or maybe Tuesday.

What THIS is, is a request thread.

So in the last thread, I offered 500xp to the winner. Surprisingly, comphermc and MrsSpookyBuz offered another 500xp each, because the challenge was so intriguing. I noticed that for all the posts I made, I earned 250xp, and someone else mentioned that just through their frenzied posting in the topic, which reached 22 pages in <2 hours (330/120, that's almost 3 posts a minute!), went up two levels of LBEXP.

So all that got me thinking what if:

I contribute 300xp, which I should make back, allowing me to keep building up more and more contests.
Other people contribute 100xp, which they should make back JUST in posting, and possibly have the chance to win many times that amount.

then surely we could build a pot of around 1500xp again? 1500xp is a huge incentive, meaning more posts, meaning more people will be willing to donate to the pot, and so on.

So this is what I'm asking. All you need to is send me 100xp points, and post in this thread so that I can give you Thanks! and put you on an honour's list. In return, you'll get a bigger pot to win a large sum out of, and will make your money back ANYWAY if you try solving my dastardly puzzles.

Current pot:

300 by dawesbr
1000 by syroc - based on the promise that it will be as good as the last one, which I believe it to be!
300 by sage
2500 by ConfusedCartman (woah!)

Phew, already at 1600xp! This is gonna be a good one!

Is it as good as yesterday? I ask because on it depends the amount I give.

Edit: By good I mean brain activating.

It's nowhere NEAR as repetitive, it's going to be HARDER, with a lot less hints by me, and a lot more lateral thinking to be done by you guys!

EDIT: On your edit - yes. That it will be.

In that case:

Ask and ye shall receive.

Actually, I think there are less stages (ie on the last one - hidden link->image->hidden site->avatar->Message->First letters), but the first stage alone should take you a lot longer. Unless you're a bunch of genii.2009-10-18 17:41:00

Holy moly! That's incredible! 1000xp! If we get other people donating, I could keep this round at 1500xp, and create a third round too!2009-10-18 17:48:00

Sorry, I'm new to LBPC, and don't understand the whole exp. thing, and how to "donate". Could someone maybe clarify?2009-10-18 18:18:00

Thanks Sage! It's already a bigger pot than last time!

OK, Sgt. Poptart, here's the briefing!

LBEXP is handed out automatically when you perform almost any action on the site - post a post, thank someone else, get thanked, get repped, post a thread, have a thread replied to etc.

Users can use these points to buy things from the Shop, such as custom titles under their username, bigger avatars, bigger PM storage space etc.

Users can also give others points by loading their profile, choosing the "LittleBigExperience" tab, and clicking "Give points". These points come out of their own pocket. Alternatively, they can buy a Give Points away In A Contest for 500xp, which can be used to give any amount of points to any amount of users for LBP related contests ONLY.

I ran a contest the other day where I left a trail of clues leading to a single word, the first poster of which would win some XP, and all those who contributed to finding the final word would win some too. The response was overwhelming, so I'm doing it again.

You need not donate, as you only have 156 XP, but be sure to play my upcoming game for a chance to win 800XP and more!

I have given my exp away too much to be able to contribute to this. I only have 67 left.

At least Rhy, Icey and graham are happy!

Haha, well...

Rhy always did loads for the sig exchange and Icey is his missus and I couldn't let Rhy brag could I?

I gave xp to Graham for winning the last sig contest as a bonus to his win. (Cos im nice like that!)

I will get as much as I can before the end and send it all over.

Heweheshsahshwahwahhwashawhawhekebuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu uuuuuuuuuuuuuuh

*keels over*

WHAT! What! WHAT!

WHAT

OK...so...ok...

4100xp seems a bit too much to give away at once.

I'm taking the executive decision and making this a 3000xp giveaway. The other 1100xp will go to the next round!

Thanks for the clarification! I thanked your post. BTW, what are the bundles? Like Premium Bundle and such?2009-10-20 01:21:00

Each bundle adds special features. The full descriptions are on their individual pages in the shop, but they're things like:

1st level bundle increases PM storage to, say, 100
2nd level to 200
3rd to 300

Something like that. They also add many other features, like .gif avatars, use of size and colour in sigs (see my sig), things like that.
