Interesting (though useless) Create Mode find...
Archive: 13 posts
So, I bet some of you know about what I'm about to tell you, but I thought it was interesting and worth sharing. About a month ago, I had a friend over and we were playing LBP, as always. After an hour or so of playing OH NO!! THE PRINCESS!! levels, we decided to hop into Create Mode for the lulz. I slapped down a bit of pink floaty and my buddy grabbed it. "Wait a mo'!" I said. "Keep grabbing that!" And he did. While he was holding onto the floaty, I lit it on fire, because I thought he would get burned and hilarity would ensue. Much to our surprise, he continued to hold on, as if the floaty were simply floaty in a pure, un-flamed state. Of course, this led to further experimentation and, as it turns out, it works with every hazard setting. (It's quite odd seeing a Sackboy floating around holding on to a block of Horrible Gas, I can assure you) Has anyone else seen this happen before? As I said in the title, it's really a useless find because it only works in Create Mode, but it's good for a laugh. tl;dr-If you hold on to something and it gets lethalized, you'll continue to hold on to it as if it were safe. Discuss. | 2009-10-18 17:16:00 Author: dandygandy2704 Posts: 1002 |
i found this when i first played with a friend and if you move there's a high chance of death | 2009-10-18 18:18:00 Author: ktang77 Posts: 592 |
A similar thing occurs with three way switches. I once played a glitch showcase level where the creator hung 3 three way sitches upside down form dark matter, one was electrified, one on fire and one gas, yet you could still grab (and swing from) each. | 2009-10-18 18:46:00 Author: croissantbuncake Posts: 572 |

I wonder if it's set up the same way or not... | 2009-10-18 22:21:00 Author: dandygandy2704 Posts: 1002 |
That's awesome! Create mode glitches are always fun. Did you know if you put a bolt on an object, then put it in the layer in front of your sackboy until you here the screwed-in sound, you can bolt objects to your sacboy? No lie! | 2009-10-18 22:38:00 Author: Incinerator22 Posts: 3251 |

I call shenanigans until I can test this one myself. | 2009-10-18 23:13:00 Author: dandygandy2704 Posts: 1002 |
There is something similar to this that works in play mode, although doubtless many of you already know this. If you lethalize a sombrero it isn't at all dangerous and behaves like a normal sombrero. It works with certain other objects too, but I can't recall which. I'll never forget my brother's face when I ran him over astride a horrible gas sombrero tank. Only in LBP. | 2009-10-21 20:06:00 Author: CartoonPiranha Posts: 16 |

Did you know if you put a bolt on an object, then put it in the layer in front of your sackboy until you here the screwed-in sound, you can bolt objects to your sacboy? No lie! That is true. (There's a rumour of it corrupting your save, though... Mine got corrupted after I tried it, so I believe the rumour...) Also, I knew about the floaty thing. (I found it with my friend.) If you do it with peach floaty, it'll keep going upward, while the other sackboy is holding it, and when it hits the roof, he'll die. Oh? Create mode glitches are fun? I'm pretty sure it would work with any other grabable material, but we just tested it with floaty. I've got a picture that I took just for this thread (I think ahead, me) but I haven't exported it yet. xD;; | 2009-10-21 20:38:00 Author: dandygandy2704 Posts: 1002 |
I call shenanigans until I can test this one myself. Well it works with strings and rods etc so why not? | 2009-10-21 21:44:00 Author: ARD Posts: 4291 |
Well it works with strings and rods etc so why not? It's probably my favorite glitch too, I've managed to get a piston into the front layer that Sackboy floats in by doing this. | 2009-10-22 00:56:00 Author: BSprague Posts: 2325 |
