You should give DA a real chance. I joined and never regretted it. There's a fantastic and friendly community, i'm part of a group that gives you constructive critism. It's really awsome.

Sweet... You've got a nice balance between stylization and realism in your style. Keep it up, and try and do a few anatomy studies and such a few times a week.

If you're looking for more indepth critique/feedback on your stuff you could join www.polykarbonbbs.com
Its a pretty small art community, but I really like it. The members have a good sense of humour and theres lots of helpful people there.
There's always www.conceptart.org too, but I personally haven't joined up yet cause the place is full of serious l33t artists, and it might not be the best place to learn and improve.

I joined DA in 2005 but I haven't signed in for 3 years. I don't like the interface and the site is always slow and clunky.
