HOME Update 01.30 (AKA 1.3) Crashes When Initializing

| The latest HOME update patch, 01.30 (or simply 1.3) crashes after pressing X at the main screen for many people. I had this problem, and all I had to do to fix it was to re-install HOME. No big deal there, all of your purchased/downloaded content will still be on your HDD because they're stored in your save file. Looks like Sony didn't test this update thoroughly before rolling it out. Quite inconvenient, really. You'll stilll have to download all of the locations again before you can go anywhere though. Turns out that updating HOME with the patch instead of installing it clean causes the problem. I initially speculated that the game cache data was corrupt, because it was only 13KB. Actually, it turns out this is normal; I suppose the bulk of the data for HOME is stored somewhere else on the PS3. So in short, not a big deal and can be easily fixed with a re-install.
