When level links happen, community spot light should get a level?

Archive: 8 posts

I think that would make it easier for everyone on LBPC to play all of the great levels.

I don't know about you guys, but it is a lot of effort to write down all the level names and authors and then search for them all one by one.

Thats why I frequently don't play them all.

When level links comes out, if its possible to link to another creators creation, it might be worth someone in a higher up position of power on this site whacking out a selection of links and in game images every spotlight time.

Thus anyone that wants to play through the levels, just has to play the spotlight level, then just pick one from there, instant legwork done.

Sounds like a plan?

If "level links" were to be added as a feature (I've certainly never heard more than rumors and hopes in that department) then we'd look into it, but I can't guarantee we'd use it. It's not hard to print out the list of levels if you'd like to avoid writing it down.2009-10-17 21:56:00

What would be nice is if LBPC had a PSN and hearted all the spotlight levels. THAT would make it a lot easier2009-10-18 01:35:00

I believe Morgana is in the process of doing so, I remember her telling me she was doing this, you can ask her if you want.

The hearted list has a limit, and the number of levels we have spotlighted goes way over that limit. No, what we have is the best solution with the present options, because it's not finicky and you can easily print out the Spotlight if you're not inclined to write them down.

Yea I have an account but I can only get so many levels on it before it starts dropping the earlier ones. I haven't come up with a good solution yet.2009-10-18 10:14:00

One thought that is still a bit clunky, would be that the spotlighted creators leave a message on a particular level on that account so at least you could link to the creator. Of course there could be a ton of other comments left on there. So maybe if the comment we left was in a particular format like the following example.

jwwPhotos - LBPC Spotlight 19 - Space Escape

At least there would be a bit of valid info there with the link back to the creator. ...of course others could fake that a bit, but if it was a level that was unplayable by having a blocked entrance, that might help reduce other comments.

Yeah... still clunky... but a thought until there was something like level linking or some other feature down the road that might help us.

I'm pretty sure we could create 3-4 accounts and full their hearted AND creators lists. We would have all the spotlighted levels in one easy spot.

But anyways, this suggestion here is moot because we ASSUME we know how level linking would word.
Personally I doubt it would just be linking as in "play it in a row". What if it's considered "the same level" and that there would only be a loading screen between each? What if it's a puck that would open a set of pucks like the story mode? If it's the later it wouldn't be different than a hearted list anyways.
