How to speed up firefox
Archive: 10 posts
Okay i had no idea what section this should go in so i posted it here (important note this is not my tutorial) .......................... Here's something for broadband people that will really speed Firefox up: 1.Type "about:config" into the address bar and hit return. Scroll down and look for the following entries: network.http.pipelining network.http.proxy.pipelining network.http.pipelining.maxrequests Normally the browser will make one request to a web page at a time. When you enable pipelining it will make several at once, which really speeds up page loading. 2. Alter the entries as follows: Set "network.http.pipelining" to "true" Set "network.http.proxy.pipelining" to "true" Set "network.http.pipelining.maxrequests" to some number like 30. This means it will make 30 requests at once. 3. Lastly right-click anywhere and select New-> Integer. Name it "nglayout.initialpaint.delay" and set its value to "0". This value is the amount of time the browser waits before it acts on information it recieves. If you're using a broadband connection you'll load pages MUCH faster now! | 2009-10-16 09:13:00 Author: rseah Posts: 2701 |
I can't tell the difference I never really paid attention to how fast it went before i made the changes, so unless i go and change it back i won't be able to see a difference. It's kind of like when i first got a ps2, i didn't think it was any different than the ps1 before i went and played my ps1 again afterwards | 2009-10-16 10:28:00 Author: Dexiro Posts: 2100 |

I used to play Burnout Dominator on PSP all the time, then I got a PS3 and started playing Paradise. When I went back to Dominator I realized how incredibly ugly it was | 2009-10-16 11:33:00 Author: ARD Posts: 4291 |

Just made the changes to Firefox on my PC here at home. I'm a Chrome guy myself, but the wife still uses Firefox religiously. We'll see if she notices a difference... | 2009-10-18 23:39:00 Author: supersickie Posts: 1366 |
