My favorite song by S.O.A.D. is probably BYOB, then probably Sugar and Chop Suey! Who else likes them?2009-10-16 00:46:00

I'm not a fan or anything, but I do like some of their songs. My main favorite is Chop Suey. I love that song. As for the other ones I like I can't remember the names. ^_^2009-10-16 01:01:00

The first album (self titled) is bar far the best as far as I'm concerned. Mezmerize and Hypnotize were really quite a disappointment to me when they came out - there are some really good songs on there, but nothing like the early stuff. In fact I'd probably rate steal this album, which is a compilation a b-tracks and stuff that got cut, over the newer albums.

Seeing War, live, right near the front of the crowd was quite a memorable experience

Toxicity is the only song of theirs which made it onto my iPod Shuffle. That's how I gauge music now. I have upwards of 10,000 songs I've collected over the years, and with the limited space of the Shuffle, I had to condense and limit myself to ~260 of my favorite songs. Toxicity made the cut.2009-10-16 01:34:00

SOAD is the best, I have all their albums. I'm just listening Radio/Video. Dreaming is their best song. The Mezmerize and Hypnotize are their best albums and you can combine them in an ingenious way. If you have them try listening Mezmerize and then Hypnotize right after it, they just fit together. Once you hear the Soldier Side (last track on hypnotize and first track on Mezmerize as an intro) again, it ends with same riff that Mezmerize starts with. It's awesome!2009-10-16 06:05:00

I like everything SOAD have done in equal measure, so I take no sides in any Toxicity vs Mesmerize/Hypnotize debate. Serj Tankian's solo album was great too. As far as I can see the band called it quits when they were still at the top of the mountain, with no epic fails in their discography and a loyal fan base still fully behind them. That's a good thing IMO, since many bands don't know to quit when they're ahead and end up producing stale, substandard cack after their first few albums. There are exceptions of course.2009-10-16 12:07:00
