Ah bloody hell, now my PS3 has died on me too! I just took a break from creating to watch Fringe, returned to my PS3 and found the cursed thing in a coma, totally cyanosed, chain stokes breathing and flashing a red light at me! I can't even eject the LBP disc! I was planning to go into town to buy Uncharted2 in the morning too! It's not pinin'! It's passed on! This PS3 is no more! It has ceased to be! It's expired and gone to meet it's maker! It's a stiff! Bereft of life, it rests in peace! If it wasn't nailed to the perch it would be pushing up the daisies! It's metabolic processes are now history! It's off the twig! It's kicked the bucket, it's shuffled off it's mortal coil, run down the curtain and joined the bleedin' choir invisibile!! THIS IS AN EX-PS3!! Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh!!! | 2009-10-15 21:21:00 Author: Ungreth Posts: 2130 |

Well, now I'm not sure whether to phone Sony first thing in the morning and get them to fix the PS3, or to take myself down to A&E and get them to fix the hand I just broke while punching a bloody wall! | 2009-10-15 21:34:00 Author: Ungreth Posts: 2130 |

Get the number for sony, then go to A&E - you'll still be waiting in the morning so you can call them from the hospital Efficiency maximised. But it does suck. I'd do somat to help but I can't so... *hugs ungreth* Right, I'm off to go have a wash now... | 2009-10-15 21:41:00 Author: rtm223 Posts: 6497 |

Oh I'm really sorry for you..! All those threads about PS3 dying really scare me..... I cross fingers... | 2009-10-15 22:12:00 Author: dajdaj03 Posts: 1486 |
So how long did your PS3 last? (Mine's been having small troubles lately... ) It lasted a year, then it stopped loading games. Sent it for repair, then got it back not working at all. Sent it for repair again, had to pay ?14 to get it back because they found nothing wrong with it...turns out they'd set it to high-def and it wasn't working because my TV isn't high-def. They said I should have tried holding the on switch down for several seconds to switch it back to normal, and if I didn't know that then I should have read the instruction manual. Fair enough...you live and learn. Once I finally got a working console, it lasted another 4 or 5 months, and then...well, you know the rest already. The console had been on for about three hours today, but it wasn't even hot and besides, I've had it on all day and well into the night before now and it's never overheated. It's out in the garage where it's nice and cool, and it's not kept in a tight, enclosed space either. Shouldn't have overheated, so I'm guessing it had cancer or swine flu...or something. | 2009-10-15 22:32:00 Author: Ungreth Posts: 2130 |
it had cancer or swine flu...or something. Maybe you've been playing too much LBP and your sackboy gave it twine flu... I'll get my coat, then | 2009-10-15 22:35:00 Author: rtm223 Posts: 6497 |
Maybe you've been playing too much LBP and your sackboy gave it twine flu... I'll get my coat, then I can't believe you just made me lol when I'm on the verge of an emotional breakdown! You just totally robbed me of my moment of abject misery, man! | 2009-10-15 22:38:00 Author: Ungreth Posts: 2130 |
Haha, twine flu. Epic, thanks for that rtm... ...erm. I mean... Sorry to hear about your ill fortune Ungreth. May we hope the situation resolves itself at minimal cost to you. | 2009-10-15 22:39:00 Author: comphermc Posts: 5338 |

Mine's about to turn a year, did you do maintenance regulary (clean the dust uff and stuff)? Just asking to see if anything like it affected the time. | 2009-10-15 22:44:00 Author: Silverleon Posts: 6707 |

Yes, I would regularly give Elizabeth a good hard dusting, but that clearly didn't satisfy her and now she's left me. It doesn't matter how well you treat your console Silverleon...in the end they all leave you chokin' on your tears! | 2009-10-15 22:49:00 Author: Ungreth Posts: 2130 |

Try putting a cold cloth on it, rubbing it gently, and softly singing sweet lullaby's to it. Hey... anything's worth a try at this point right? Man, that sucks large! Sorry to hear about your misfortune. This would never happen if they were made by Cyberdyne Systems Corporation instead of Sony you know. | 2009-10-15 23:10:00 Author: Rustbukkit Posts: 1737 |

Hey, I already do that every night before I go to sleep! So, you do it too huh? Maybe you could explain to my wife that it's just something guys do and there's nothing weird about it, because she...oh...you mean the PS3? Erm...what? | 2009-10-15 23:18:00 Author: Ungreth Posts: 2130 |
hehe innuendos hehe Anyways, I'm fairly certain there's a curse going around here. Every week or so a new topic pops up where someone's PS3 has died. | 2009-10-15 23:50:00 Author: Arkei Posts: 1432 |
Mine started freezing alot and I knew something was coming... soon enough I got the red screen of "death". I had to send my ps3 in to Sony in Laredo, TX and im waiting on it to be fixed as they just got it Good luck with yours, though. | 2009-10-16 00:54:00 Author: Ricano Posts: 434 |
Ah, distinctly I remember it was in the bleak October, And each separate dying Station wrought its ghost upon the threads. Eagerly I wished the morrow; - vainly I had sought to borrow From my games surcease of sorrow - sorrow for the lost Elizabeth - For the rare and radiant Station whom Ungreth named Elizabeth - Powerless here for evermore. ok - so it doesn't exactly rhyme but I tried. I'm so sorry Ungreth. Hope you get your Station and hand sorted out soon | 2009-10-16 03:09:00 Author: Morgana25 Posts: 5983 |
Well, on the bright side, they just announced a 250 GB model. If you decide to get a new one, you can upgrade to way more storage than you could ever need. Link (http://ps3.ign.com/articles/103/1035520p1.html). | 2009-10-16 04:07:00 Author: comphermc Posts: 5338 |
I'm not sure I understand the problem here.... good grief, just run down to the store and get a new one! The PS3 Slim is CHEAP! It only costs $300.00! That's only about 50 bucks more than the PSP go. I mean, most of us have that much in our walllet right now!.....right? Oh, and Morgana.... that was.... beautiful.... * sniff * | 2009-10-16 04:17:00 Author: CCubbage Posts: 4430 |

Actually, my account is ?80 in debt right now. ohh...that makes it worse! i don't know about englands economy but its sucking in the USA at the moment so i hope mine doesn't brake soon...or im pretty much screwed! | 2009-10-17 00:10:00 Author: theswweet Posts: 2468 |
I think the best deal you can find on a PS3 right now is from SonyStyle, where you can get a new 80GB with a second controller for $250. I know your situation doesn't permit that right now, but I'd put this option on the back burner. | 2009-10-17 00:31:00 Author: BSprague Posts: 2325 |
dang that sucks hard got me kinda worried myself. recently my consoles been haveing some problems with lbp i thought it was jsut online till one day i got back on and i had lost a days worth of irriplaceable level sections for my halloween spooktacular! ive been playing inFamouse for afew days after that just to vent and also cause im afraid my lbp or ps3 will get even more messed up, if i lose this ps3 there is slim to none chance im gunna afford another. should i be worried? what where the first signs of malfunction with your ps3? also how should i be exiting lbp and turning off the ps3? my current method is to wait for the loading icon to leave then quit game from XMB then turn it off from the front. | 2009-10-17 00:54:00 Author: Littlebigdude805 Posts: 1924 |
