Search button plz.

And we don't know, probably not, due to copyright issues.

Personally, I don't get copy right issues as a reason since you could still break them with the PSEye.

But meh.

Yeah, because I've got a PLAYSTATION Eye and what I'll probably do is just put the picture up on my labtop and take a picture of it there. The quality actually turns out pretty well. I was able to show someone how to register on another website using my PLAYSTATION Eye and my labtop.

take a picture with your PSEye, like lets say a copyrighted logo. Wouldn't that still break copyright rules? I don't get why the PSEye wouldn't make it un-copyrighted.2008-09-20 22:18:00

You don't get it because it isn't true.

If it's hi-def and progressive or you have a long exposure time to overcome interlace, as long as you have a steady camera you can get it done. It's just that it may turn out to look dim, depending.2008-09-20 22:30:00

Oh, so you have to put it on a stand... I thought it would be like the Ctrl + Prt Sc SysRq button on the keyboard...2008-09-20 22:40:00

Huh? Did you perhaps mean Computer screen above (rather than TV)?

If so a program called HyperCam can be used to record.

If you did mean TV:
I have a portable media player thing that can record from AV input. Very cool/good quality, but have to play games on a really tiny screen if recording them.
You could probably find a similar device at your local electronics store.

How much did you pay for yours?

Hey that's a bright idea, I wouldn't have thought the quality would be too good, but I'll definitely check this out, see how it turns out!

Yup! I think it helps to keep it dark where the area is and let the labtop resonate the light for you. It also helps to keep everything still. It'll all just look white for like, five seconds but the camera adjusts to the light.

The reason for no HDD importing isn't just copyright - it's file size. Having many more custom images would increase file size too much. I believe that's the reason they gave.2008-09-21 00:43:00

To be honest I thought the reason was that they just hadn't actually got it working yet, but they have hinted at the possibility of it on a future patch, i wouldn't hold my breath though.

The issue with copyright is also that it is dead simple to download sprites or other copyrighted images straight to your HD, it at least takes some effort to get good quality sprites into the game via the camera, so no one can claim that MM are making it too easy to publish copyrighted materials.

I'm going to print out my chosen images at 450 dpi, 6-colour and use the PS3eye on that image to achieve the highest quality. Better than a hi-def screen.2008-09-22 15:38:00

I've setup a small portable photo booth on the coffee table with white walls and floor with a D65K light source so I can just place the object or image in there to get the best possible picture with the PSEYE. I saw in one of the demo videos that you can trim around the image you import with the eye so I should be able to get rid of any white background left over and still have a good quality sticker.
