Who here watches the show Wipeout or watches Most Extreme Elimination (MXE(Japanese) ) I had and idea where we could make crazy moving obstacles like in those shows. we could slightly modify them littlebigplanet style. If you haven't heard of either of them, YouTube it. it's pretty funny! Edit: Its now a group go here (http://www.lbpcentral.com/forums/group.php?groupid=21) to join! | 2008-09-20 22:06:00 Author: Sage Posts: 2068 |
I've heard of it! The game where there is a wall moving towards you with a shape cut out that you have to make it through, right? | 2008-09-20 22:10:00 Author: Unknown User |
Omg I saw that once.. Was so funny lmfaoo!!! | 2008-09-20 22:11:00 Author: DrunkMiffy Posts: 2758 |
yeah and thats only one of the like 11 events | 2008-09-20 22:11:00 Author: Sage Posts: 2068 |
So then each section of the level you'd have to get passed some sort of obstacle? Wait a minute. Isn't that how the game is already set up? lol | 2008-09-20 22:14:00 Author: Unknown User |
just YouTube it and you'll know exactly what i'm talking about | 2008-09-20 22:16:00 Author: Sage Posts: 2068 |
Omg the WipeOut show is hilarious, but one of the key things that makes it funny is the two announcers. That's usually what makes those shows funny, so we would have to have someone announcing it, with good humor. Or we can just have obstacles if you dont want it to be all about humor. But good idea! | 2008-09-20 22:16:00 Author: Whalio Cappuccino Posts: 5250 |
thanks. glad you like it(at least i'm not the only one that watches it) . but I really need help on building it and ideas on recreating the obsticles and possibly making new ones | 2008-09-20 22:24:00 Author: Sage Posts: 2068 |

You get given a certain amount of items, and you have to rearrange them (by grabbing) so you're able to fit through the hole in the wall (e.g. you have to build a tower to reach the hole), otherwise the wall hits you (possibly covered by poison gas / fire)?? | 2008-09-20 22:27:00 Author: DrunkMiffy Posts: 2758 |

Hmmm. I was lead to believe that the Gas Tool turned the selected object completely into gas. | 2008-09-20 22:30:00 Author: Unknown User |
Hmmm. I was lead to believe that the Gas Tool turned the selected object completely into gas. Nah, it adds poison gas to it, to make it a danger, like the fire tool. The object still keeps it shape, it just gains an extra property. | 2008-09-20 22:31:00 Author: DrunkMiffy Posts: 2758 |

Do you remember that one video with the cowboy Sackboy, where there was a Mario level feel to it, transitioning music, traversing platforms, and stationary platforms afterwards? How did they surround that enitre section with gas? | 2008-09-20 22:34:00 Author: Unknown User |
@Clank I think making a group would be wonderous! but would I have to contact an admin first? @Miffy I like that idea even though i dont fully understand it can you get me a sketch? | 2008-09-20 22:34:00 Author: Sage Posts: 2068 |
Mind if I incorporate some of this into The Idiots of LBP? This is an awesome and funny idea. | 2008-09-20 22:36:00 Author: Sack-Jake Posts: 1153 |

How did they surround that enitre section with gas? They just made a wall around everything, and added the gas property to it I'd guess. @Clank I think making a group would be wonderous! but would I have to contact an admin first? @Miffy I like that idea even though i dont fully understand it can you get me a sketch? Erm, maybe later xD I'll try explain it clearer. There's a danger wall, slowly moving towards your sackboy(s), he has 3 cloth blocks next to him, which he needs to pile on top of each other so he can reach the hole in the wall. sure i don't mind, but this is copyrighted by me so you'll have to include my name. thanks Edit: oh Miffy didn't see your post. yeah now I get it sounds great | 2008-09-20 22:38:00 Author: Sage Posts: 2068 |
@Clank I think making a group would be wonderous! but would I have to contact an admin first? @Miffy I like that idea even though i dont fully understand it can you get me a sketch? It definitely wouldn't hurt to talk to an admin first. ConfusedCartman is on right now, I think. | 2008-09-20 22:38:00 Author: Unknown User |
You don't have to talk to an admin to make a group xD If you want me to make it for you I will, or I can tell you how. | 2008-09-20 22:39:00 Author: DrunkMiffy Posts: 2758 |

Oh my god!!! now am thinking of the same thing, making a Wipeout ship then i'll make it fly! Thanks man Uhm, you're not thinking of the video game, are you? | 2008-09-20 23:31:00 Author: Unknown User |
Alright, there's one thing I think you guys are missing: A way for spectators to watch. I think you need to build some sort of catwalk system that runs over everything so the other people in the game can follow you and watch you screw up. | 2008-09-21 00:12:00 Author: ConfusedCartman Posts: 3729 |
Uhm, there can be four players total. So if there was an announcer implemented, that leaves 3. You don't really compete by yourself, so that leaves 1. The spectators total up to a whopping 1. I guess you could have 3 copies of the same obstacle, so that there would be 3 competing for points. Each would take a turn, 1 by 1, while the other two are on the mobile bleachers and the announcer is in his mobile press box. The respawn would be attatched over the mobile bleachers. Hmmm, I like it! | 2008-09-21 00:24:00 Author: Unknown User |
Well, the announcers would only be used if making this a machinima. If it is a regular level, just a round people can play, you wouldn't have people log in just to commentate. If you wanted to make this for machinima, you would just add the commentary in post production. -Josh | 2008-09-21 00:43:00 Author: gimpyjosh Posts: 24 |
The whole announcer bit is just for fun, and it is more fun to do it during playthrough because you get to see your Sackboy or Sackgirl lip synch. Maybe the announcer could have another role. Maybe whoever would like to be the announcer would host, so that this idea could spread through multiple patches and the announcer could decide where to go next and in what order. Oh, almost forgot. If there is more room in the level, check out (youtibe) "Takeshi's Castle" Japanese game show, some rounds like "Jump the shark" would go great with the idea! | 2008-09-21 08:12:00 Author: flakmagnet Posts: 1084 |

I love Takeshi's Castle, that would work great in LBP! (Well, some of it.) | 2008-09-21 14:57:00 Author: GuyWithNoEyes Posts: 1100 |
good idea, a bit like that japnese show with that castel on challage. you should make it so that the commentor follows you and when it get so far he say something like "watch out for those sissor as they can cut fabic" how would you do it to make it simular to the show | 2008-09-21 15:30:00 Author: panzer3000 Posts: 362 |
If you guys like those shows you should check out "Ninja Warrior", which I think airs on G4. It's kind of more serious than those other shows, but it has way cooler obstacles and is kinda more sport competition than comedy gameshow. But I would definitely play a gameshow themed level. *thumbs up* | 2008-09-21 16:37:00 Author: fortunekey Posts: 29 |
i would love to play it as well, people could do gameshowlbp | 2008-09-21 16:50:00 Author: panzer3000 Posts: 362 |
I love these ideas but i have no idea how their going to be recreated could someone bring up a sketch of what they mean? | 2008-09-21 18:54:00 Author: Sage Posts: 2068 |
For the BIG BALLS section, you could put some glass (slippery) balls on motion-sensing pistons, so that when you touch one, you bounce and slide all over, making it difficult to progress. Edit: Yay I'm a sack lolz. | 2008-09-21 18:56:00 Author: Sack-Jake Posts: 1153 |
YES I LOVE THAT IDEA!!! PERFECT thank you Jake. I wonder if that would work. This is Jim Henson signing off good night and big balls. xD Edit: Congrats on your Sackdom lol | 2008-09-21 23:07:00 Author: Sage Posts: 2068 |
Hah, hadn't realised, I've just become a sack too! YES! Panzer, the show you're thihnking of IS Takeshi's castle. Some other rounds would work great, like "High rollers" "Skipping Stones" and the like, but others like Kareoke and "Bite the Bun" might be a little difficult! | 2008-09-22 07:58:00 Author: flakmagnet Posts: 1084 |
haha very cool idea. Can't wait to play it. | 2008-09-22 09:46:00 Author: Lococard Posts: 4 |
