You wake up alone in a ruined lab. Where are you and what is Project Z? This is a scifi-horror level I made for the Halloween season and there is some gore and scary effects in it. You also need to have community objects turned on for sticker switches. I was not able to test this for multi-player.

This is my first level I have put up since I joined LBP central. I spent a long time on this one working on it slowly over the summer. Normally my levels are pretty cute platformer types so I wanted to do something different and make a scary level for Halloween. I'm a big horror movie fan and I love playing people's horror levels on LBP. This does have lots of blood and skulls and limbs and such in case you are sensitive to that sort of thing. It was partially inspired by the Aliens movies. I'd like to know specifically are how well it works multi-player as I only have one play station controller and very few friends that have LBP or ps3s to help me test.

After getting the green sticker it was so dark that I couldn't see where I needed to go and just randomly started jumping and eventually found the way back up. Maybe add a blinking light to guide the player after getting the green sticker.

The boss could be defeated easily by standing in one spot. Better than having a super cheap boss though. Great looking boss!

The fuse or whatever it was, was very hard to see. I kept grabbing the larger circle not seeing the little one that moved. Fix the lighting in this area as well or have the fuse have a light on it or something.

Pretty good level. I liked when the monsters jumped out at the different points in the level. I liked the platforming in the electrified room. I wish the rest of the level had similar platforming as it is more fun than staying on the ground and running throughout the level.

Keep it up! Great level for Halloween!

Thank you for the review elguero. I think my gamma might be turned up higher than usual as the two people I had play test it at my house didn't have the same darkness issues and trouble seeing that you noted. I think adding lighting is a good fix to it rather than upping the global lighting.

I'll also try to add another emitter or two to the boss to cover some more area.

Just played it. The visuals were great, the story was great and the gameplay was great. I loved the poor little sackboys in the tank at the start lol. My gamma is default (halfway) and I had no problems with the lighting. The lighting was perfect. I gave it a well deserved heart and 5 stars. It easily deserves more than the 3 stars that it currently has. Definitely a must play for everyone.2009-10-12 15:48:00

Thanks for the review shindol! I added some lights on the stairs after you get the green key card and tweaked up the global lighting in the fuse room. I also changed the bullet pattern on the boss and added some more wall so it should be harder to stand in one place and fire.2009-10-12 20:13:00

Wow...this level was awesome. It was fun and the story was good. The visuals were just right and I am the high score in this level so far, so it is a great level I am very impressed and hope that my level that I am working on looks as good as this. Great job! oh and if you want to leave feedback on any of my levels, that would be great.2009-10-13 07:52:00

Well, as a F4F member I have just played this till the end

I liked how you told a small bit of the story every time you had to search for a key (3 times) and each time you got the key and went back something happened (monster appearing, blood and limbs ...) nice horror scenes!

Only one tiny remark: the monster could have looked more horrifying. I believe the one you see very swiftly seems to show more detail I could be mistaken but that's my two cents

The end battle with the test subject creature was a little too easy but was well made, so kudos for that!

Overall I felt this level looks polished and deserves good ratings. I think the only thing that's keeping it from a 4 is maybe a lack of variety in the level design and some more wow effects.

Nevertheless a 3.5 star level for me

Please give your comments on wild west sheriffs, my very first attempt at a small paintgun level and don't forget to see the bonus level to the right before finishing the level because I 'm anxious to know what people think of that as well

thanks in advance

Yeah nightwing, I agree that the initial glimpse of the monster looks the most horrifying. I just couldn't get it to look the same when I made it out of a thicker layer.

I went back and tried to add lots of detail to the monster with stickers and decorations which I was able to do in the boss fight however I couldn't do it to some of the other versions. Specifically the second time you see it as I glued gas over it to make it deadly and if I tried to remove it to add more detail the whole monster fell apart. I'm kind of afraid to mess with that whole event sequence as I've tried once or twice and if I change with anything it tends to break everything else.

I also think its like any other horror media. The monster is always scarier before you get to see it. I'm having trouble connecting to the lbp servers right now so I'll try to play everyone's levels who I haven't given feed back yet tomorrow or later tonight.
