Wow. has anyone else noticed the HUGE increase of 'Players Online' during 9:00 GMT on a Saturday/Sunday and then the sudden drop about two hours later!?!?!?!

Last night i saw over 900,000 players online drop to under 10,000 in the space of about two hours!

It's kinda crazy to think that nearly 1 million people around the world all have the same desire at the same time to play this wonderful game and then, in perfect harmony all decide to go off!

This is truly the best time to get your levels out or hit up quick-play.

I just cant believe how similar peoples gaming routines are! XD

I guess we can now see that this is when people have the most free time of the week.

That, or it's a glitch? Just a thought.2009-10-11 18:39:00

Lol, can't believe MM still hasn't fixed that glitch... Do you honestly think there are actually 900,000 people playing LBP? If there were levels would be getting much more playsthan they do now. 14,000 players online is a much more reasonable estimate. And yes, and have been seeing more people online lately, with the increase in PS3 sales and that LBP commercial it's only natural that we see more players online.2009-10-11 18:51:00

Yeah ... while it would appear the numbers of people online during peak times keeps getting bigger and bigger ... I'm pretty sure that THAT big an outlier spike and then drop is not realistic.

I mean, have that many units even sold, none-the-less been produced?

LittleBigPlanet has sold over a million copies worldwide. The numbers for people online are very strange though, I wouldn't put much any stock into those.

Sure it's a glitch... 900 000 is too huge to be possible...

The average number of online players at the same time is more often between 7 000 and 10 000 (at least that's what I always see when I connect...)

Actually, it makes perfect sense to me - first thing on Saturday morning is when the young kids that are generally in school or doing their homework are allowed to play. I've been watching pretty big jumps and drops on Saturday morning for a fairly long time. Generally it doesn't drop THAT much, however - I've noticed a LOT more players over Saturday than most other days.2009-10-11 19:22:00

Yeah the jump doesn't really make sense. During the week there's like 7000 to 10 000 players around. During the week at peak time i've seen 100 000 players once. This is 10 times the people you see during the week.

Now seeing like almost 20 times more people for Saturday peek time I don't believe. That's a freaking huge bunch of kids. CCubbage

The highest the play count will reach over the weekdays is around 12,000. On Saturdays and Sundays(the time when most people play) is when there's around 14,000 people playing, which is a decent spike from just a month ago when 9,000 people played on weekdays and 11,000 played on weekends.

Also, I still remember on Christmas Day when about 5 of the Story levels EACH had +1,000 plays and the rest had +800 plays.... Compare that to now when the average Story level gets around 150 plays.

Really its a glitch!?

Adding to the long list of LBP glitches then...

But i agree with Cubbage, it is plausible, that that time and day must have a much bigger 'audience' than say 4:00AM on a Tuesday. Maybe not that big, but it's hefty enough to screw up the servers......maybe its more!
