How do I make an Animated sig?

Archive: 13 posts

I just downloaded Paint(not the default one on Windows), and I'm wondering how I can make an animated signature with it. Can someone please help me? 2009-10-08 17:39:00

you can't make animated sigs with paint.net I think, you need GIMP or photoshop.2009-10-08 18:52:00

Or something else.
I've never used gimp or photoshop for anything.
Or Paint.net.

...Or you could download a GIF animating program, save each frame as a GIF image, and make it into an animation... But that takes a little too long.

You could however download the free trial of Photoshop...

I used to use PDN all the time. I've never once made an animation on it though, so maybe you could find help on the PDN forum...

I'm sure there is a way to do them, but it is very likely far too time consuming for what he wants, and probably not as good quality as someone would do on PS or GIMP.

If you know what you want, you could always request in the Sig Exchange thread, link in my sig

Shameless advertising FTW.

Photoshop does a good job with animation - as does paint shop pro.

Essentially, you save as a .gif (which supports frames)

In the program, you create frames and then assign a time period for each frame. If you want it to run in real time, you need it to run at 25 frames per second (or 0.04 secs per frame).

Animation takes a great deal of time to get good quality and pretty tricky to get right.

Good luck.

My only advice would be - don't make it too jerky - people don't generally like "flashes" or random moving images.

In GIMP, another good, free image manipulation program, when you save it as a .gif, each layer becomes an individual frame.2009-10-17 13:18:00
