So...i was making a Banjo-Kazooie level about 3 hours ago...then my PS3 froze and all my hard work (It was about 90% done, only a bit of tweaking was left) Anyways, mid-level creating i realized...I cant read music all that great I came across these two colorful arrays of notes...and i have no idea the beats in these. http://i661.photobucket.com/albums/uu340/King_Tubb/UnknownNotes.jpg If someone could write the beats out for me (I dont need the pitch, just the beat pattern) If someone could explain how this beat goes that would be awesome. Kinda write it out using these (1/4) (1/8) (1/16) (1/32) And use this: - If the notes are linked Also that little squiggle thingy just indicates to skip the 1/4 beat and move onto the next beat...right? Because my brain just divides each stanza into fourths based on a 1/4 beat rate, so essential each stanza is 4 beats, with each beats with each beat...if that makes sense to you.

The "squiggle thing" is a 1/4 rest. But I haven't read music in a while.

what happened to the start of the music? I see no time signature. Thats somewhat important for the beat But you really don't want me reading music, i'm pretty bad at it lol.

Adding up the beats seems to all add up to 4/4 in 4/4 - Whole note means 4 beats Half note means 2 beats quarter note means 1 beat 8th note means 1/2 a beat ( 1 and 2 and 3 and 4 and ) 16th note means 1/4 a beat ( 1 e and a , 2 e and a, etc.) 32nd note means 1/8 of a beat Also those squiggly lines are "rests" A rest just means not playing anything, not skipping right away to the next note. Heh. You're welcome So for future reference: hollow circle with no tail = whole note Hollow circle with tail = half note filled circle with tail = quarter note " " " and 1 flag = eighth note and then every time you add a flag it halves the duration
