LBPC after release

How do you think the forums will look after LBP's release?

Personally, I think the forums will be dead because none will be posting thing everyone will just be playing LBP. But, thats just my opinion what do you think??

In terms of activity, I can't be sure. It might be dead, but it might liven up a lot too with people sharing what they make. In terms of forum layout, we've already got some ideas. You'll see them implemented about a week before LittleBigPlanet launches.2008-09-20 06:27:00

I don't think it will die, I think it will be less popular but I would get on once or twice a day, I mean your acting like your going to be playing 24/7. You'll get on, see whats up, the latest news, post some threads about how the game is going for everyone, etc... I'm not worried about this site being dead at all. 2008-09-20 06:30:00

Eh, I might not be coming back after release.

Heh...

Anyway, I think the forums will probably calm down, since most of the conversations are "OMG LOOK WHAT I FOUND" and "OMG LOOK AT WHAT I'LL MAKE". However, this page is currently one of my home pages when I open up Chrome, so it'll always be there displayed for me.

I'm excited for release because I can't wait to see what everyone makes. Personally, I'm an object guy, so I'll be grabbing any cool objects or contraptions you guys make.2008-09-20 07:27:00

I would have presumed the board would be busier, ful of people asking others to test/vote for their levels, sharing their ideas and looking for meet-ups with people they know.2008-09-20 07:32:00

Speaking of Chrome, how is that lil buddy doing? Is it worth downloading and giving it out a try?

And as for what Cartmen said, I will be doing the exact same thing, I'll be on here once or twice a day, to see if anyone wants some testers for their levels, I'd be glad to be a tester and help someone out with ideas and comments on how to make their level better.

It's awesome. Default browser right now ever since its release. Like I said, you can set up multiple home pages... MaxConsole.net, N4G.com, Gametrailers.com, LiBiPl.net, LBPCentral.com and LBPCentral.com/forums for me.

The browser uses a little bit of memory when running because each separate tab has its own memory, so if something crashes, the whole browser doesn't go down. It doesn't have that many features yet since it's on Beta, but I recommend downloading it and at least giving it a try.

Wanted to keep this with a spoiler tag to avoid showing off the out-of-topic discussion. d:

with activity and members, my theory is that as the release date gets closer more and more people will be coming to the forums.
Then when the game is released the forum will have a small dip for a week or so but then its peek will happen in the months after the release with more and more new members coming. But then the activity will drop. Casuals will lose interest in paying close attention to the LBP community happenings and so less people will be on the forums. If Mm announces a big DLC package of some sort that will change the game then more people will come otherwise expect this forum to go high in the LBP beginnings but drop eventually.

All the regulars will still be here though

Just as long as the emphasis goes from general LBP discussion into reviewing levels, objects and providing plenty of advice and tips for creators, this place is going to be just fine.

The content here should be of high quality though. If the creator forum gets spammed with multiple or otherwise worthless threads (as the general forums are now), I wouldn't bother trying to find anything worth reading/discussing.

Yeah i'm still gonna be around to get an easier overview of what everybody is making on here and also remember were gonna have loads of comps and events on here to participate in. Also the collaboration levels we have planned and new ones that come up (if we work out how to get these done)

It's looking good for LBPC !!!!!!!!!!

I'm definitely sticking around. However - I don't think I'll be on at all on the 21st/22nd/23rd. Playing LBP, running as fast as I can for 18 minutes (crossing my fingers that it's that short - an extra 45 secs and I don't make regionals), then playing more LBP.2008-09-20 13:05:00

There will be a calm period, where everyone goes off and get used to/plays game to death. But after that people will start to come back, for disscussion about the game and swapping ideas etc.

Although, it may be the other way round. People who have never been on this site/any other lbp site before may start looking for places to post ideas and to talk about the game. So, the numbers may increase rapidly and it may become very busy, very quickly.

I can see the creation/ideas part of the forum growing a ton, and some of the other general discussion forums taking the hit. A lot more of "What did you do today in LBP?" style of topics. I really don't think it's going to die, I think it's just going to change. I see the forums becoming more of a meta-POD of sorts, and more focused on the game itself.2008-09-20 16:50:00

I'll probably be playing LBP more than coming here, but I'll check here every day before I go to play LBP. That's how things will change for me, but I don't know about the rest of you. :/2008-09-20 18:06:00

LittleBigPlanet has a great community aspect; so I will most likely see most of you guys every day in-game.

I will still check on the forums for any discussion, but yeah, we can always talk in-game. :arg:

I think LittleBigCreation is going to be a GREAT tool for creators after release, it will be a database of all user's creations since LBP doesn't go that into depth while cataloging actual objects/enemies/machines/ect.

It will only get bigger, and more popular.

I for one would love to design my levels and show them on here for as many people to see as possible. Especially if I have spent numerous hours building something, I want to share it!!

Even if we can do that online, we will still see ideas w/pics posted up here, which will only grow after the games release.

I hope it stays popular... It would be a nice showcase and whatnot, and besides I joined this forum mainly to have other people to be there so it's not just me by myself (and my one friend), so that I have other people to push me on, and whatnot. Yep.2008-09-20 20:03:00

okay sorry for the drama. I think the forums will be alot quieter after LBP release but i think people will still be on just not as much as right now. the reason most of us are here right now is because we want to know more about the game and we want to share our ideas, but once the game comes out, we'll know whats possible and whats not, and we'll all be creating and sharing in-game. so that's why I think the forums will be dead.2008-09-20 20:40:00

I think there will be a lot more sharing of ideas along with have you seen this yet and spolier posts and numerous screen caps of funny / interesting gameplay. I'll still be dropping in a few times a day to check things out and post as well as work with the rest of the crew on the Sackcast episodes.

I agree with QuozL. I think it can go both ways, the more dedicated members would come to the site a couple times a day. See what everyone is doing, put out their own level so people can play it, because remember, everyone wants to be rewarded with more slots, and you need to get as many people to play your level as possible. I, myself would, like I said in an earlier post, would love to play all of your levels.

There's no way this place will die. So many people will be looking for a forum for the game, we'll have tons of posts even if most of us don't even visit. We'll want to share levels, get more upload slots, etc.2008-09-20 21:55:00

Honestly, as I've said before, this site has a much better community spirit thing going on, and I have yet to come across any stupid flame wars or trolling, so this is the one LBP board I will be coming back to time and again after the game is released, to get intellegent people to playtest my levels and help me improve them, and also hopefully help others to do the same.2008-09-21 09:27:00
