| Indiana, USA. Born in 65... you do the math. Male, married since 86, 4 daughters, 1 grandchild. US Navy Veteran. Acoustic guitar player, wannabe singer song writer, creative writer. I work in the field of electronics for the DoD. I have recently come to the realization that I enjoy the creation process... and enjoy even more other people finding enjoyment in my creations. I can't think of a better place to excercise that inclination than LBP. I've owned LBP for about two months. It has been just during the last month that I have dabbled in the creation side of the game. My freshman effort is Spook House and is listed in the Levels Feedback section of the site. I'm eagerly anticipating getting some feedback on this level as I want to use it to help in the creation of future levels. This site has alot of great info and loads of constructive criticism for fellow gadders. Its good to see so much encouraging words being shared and a lack of flame wars. Having just figured out what F4F means... I would be more than happy to return feedback for others. I may not have the game creation aspects mastered... but I know what I like. I was deprived as a kid (loI) we didn't have video games at home. Some of my neighbors had Pong and Atari that I would occaisionally get to play. I really started gaming back in the 80s in college with text games like colossal caverns and Infocom on a Kaypro 1x that had only hercules graphics, no hard drive and ran on CPM language. I later bought an IBM XT clone and began playing Sierra Online games, first on a monochrome monitor and later on the wonders of a RGB monitor. Over the years I've progressed through computers, was really into Everquest for a while and have owned and played sega, turbo graphix, and the other competetors gaming systems. I've always thought it would be neat to be able to design a game of my own. Thanks LBP for giving me the opportunity. | Welcome! Sounds like you have a lot in common with many of us "oldies" around here. Check out the 30+ thread - I think you'll get a kick out of a lot of what's posted in there. Can't wait to see what you've been working on. Many of our more technical members have some awesome stuff. | Holy cow! You're only 5 years older than me and your a grandfather already?! I'm not mentally ready for that prospect yet. I've got daughters too (3). Nice to know someone survived it... gives me hope! Do your girls play LBP with you? I'm also grateful for the opportunity LBP gives to create. There's really never been anything like it before, ever.
