YouTube Hackings

Archive: 6 posts

How do they happen? Are they actual skilled hacker attacks on Google's servers? Or are they merely script kiddies who guess passwords? Does anyone have a clue as to how one account after another is being accessed without authorization? It seems like the average YouTube user cannot protect himself or herself against these attacks, no matter how secure his or her password is. Discuss.

I never heard of it. But if it's true, then Ryan Higa should watch out.

If you don't know, Ryan Higa's channel "nigahiga" is the most subscribe channel on YouTube. If someone hacks him, then his reputation can go down...badly.

Doesn't YouTube know about this? There have been countless threads posted in the help forums, but none of them are ever replied to. Not even by users!2009-10-05 15:44:00

Most Youtube accounts get hacked because the user got tricked into giving their password or someone found the answer to their security question. If you're smart you can avoid that kind of hacking, like a lot of the big shot web stars on Youtube. It requires a professional hacker to bypass Youtube's encryption codes. Usually they don't bother though. Don't worry about it too much.

That's a relief, and sounds completely possible.
