String Tool Ideas

Archive: 20 posts

What if you used the string tool to make a sock or something! That would be awesome! What would you make with the string tool? BTW, does anyone know if the string has preset base colors to choose from?2008-09-19 18:16:00

String's just used to attach things to each other, you can't make stuff out of it lol.2008-09-19 18:31:00

actually, you could intertwine the strings together. put one going down, the next going sideways, so on and so forth. so i do believe that is possible. also, you could create a wooden shape, cut out the center so that it is just the outlining, and start fillin it up with string!

Like you said, I'm gonna create a large wooden circle, cut out the inner part, leaving only the outline, fill it up with lots and lots and lots of string, and then use it as a trampoline xD2008-09-20 01:05:00

interesting, but i am unsure if the game's physics allow for that to work.

I want to make a shaky bridge using just wood planks and string to keep them together and add a invisible motion sensor explosive to the other side so the first on to other side will activate the bomb and will survive while the others either fall to their doom or have no way to cross and die by remaining off screen or by jumping in the gap.2008-09-20 05:16:00

and to add to the challenge you could have random rocks fall down on the bridge (let's assume where by some kinda cliff). and with each bridge section you could put the strings in only 1 area to get passed (i'm talking three dimensional, so you'd have to move up and down on the path, otherwise, you'd fall, if any of this makes sense) think of Ratchet and Clank rail grinding where you have to jump left or right onto another rail because the rail ends (hopefully you've played R&C.) :hero:

I'm making a whole spiderweb level, but instead of string, the webs are made of elastic. They are all connected by little sponge balls which you can grab onto and fling yourself to another.

Kind of like in Super Mario Galaxy, if anyone's ever played it.

Please add that to LittleBigCreation. Awesome idea.

PS, you still have to add StixVision.

You too. :hero:
That idea is epic. I can't wait to play it!

So can you or can you not attach string together? I'm still 50-50 on the concept.2008-09-20 19:53:00

You can't. BUT, you could attach multiple strings to a tiny shape or something to make it look like they're connected, kinda like I'm doing with my spiderwb.

Oh I see, like a open circle donut but has strings attached from one side of the inner circle to the other. I got it!

You can't attach string to string.

You can attatch a large amount of strings to the same sides, connecting sides of a shape for example. Think tennis racquet. Or badmiton I suppose.

Lol, That's simple use of string which everyone knew you could do xD

- Hate to be a downer on you guys, but I'm almost certain you won't be able to make the trampoline you speak of, or any of these designs.. Strings just a tool, not a decoration kit xD

You will not be able to attatch string to string as Tyler said, but you could weave them together I guess. 2008-09-21 15:31:00
