As some of you may or may not know, certain words in LBP are censored silently whenever you use text chat or publish a level containing magic mouths. The result is that the entire phrase turns into "**********" making the text completely unreadable without alerting you that it has done this. According to the extensive list compiled here (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=t=6932), many benign words are picked up by the censor for one reason or another and silently censored this way. I propose that MM should, at the very least, have a popup notification warning you that your text has been censored when you chat or publish a level. That way, at least, you know something happened instead of being left in the dark about it. Ideally they should also look into what they can do to stop censoring benign words like "computer", "happened" and "punching", but until we really make a fuss about it I don't think they will put much effort into that.

It should just show stars as you type the word, rather than showing the person typing one thing and the person recieving another

The only way it could do that is if it was magically predicting what you were about to type. So I could type in any letter, and it would be censored because you can say a bad thing using just about any letter to start with. Fail.

He just wasn't thinking much about the actual mechanics....

I'm fairly sure he meant that as the words are typed, if they would trip the censor they would be censored at the source. For instance, you would start typing "comput" but as soon as you hit the "e" the asterisks would show up. This wouldn't really work though because the censoring is handled on the LBP servers (and not by the game) as far as I can tell.
