Hello all, i'm not sure if font is the right word, but... i was thinking of making a level with the Japanese Katakana character set (they look like this, クリス, by the way) given away as prizes...well, setting it up as a copyable level would probably be better, so people don't have to deal with 52prize balloons. Anyways, like with the Kanji Dictionary i did, i want to make them out of cardboard with a glass backing (so they don't fall apart), that people could detach and mount, or make stickers of, to give their levels a little Japanese feel (or not, but the Katakana still look kind of cool and future-y, i think). So the questions... one, when dealing with characters, is there a certain size that people find easy to deal with? i used a 6x6 small grid for the kanji, so they wouldn't lose detail, but i think i could go smaller, as the katakana are much simpler. Two, i did the kanji up with colourful stickers so they'd stand out, but is it easier for folks if the characters are sticker-free? i'm sorry if this is oddly worded...i'm still working on my first cup of morning coffee. I don't think it matters all that much for the stickers - although if your handing it out so people can use it I'd leave them unstickered. Size wise - 6x6 seems reasonable. People can always make them bigger or smaller if your going to make the level copyable anyway. Cool idea too. I can't read it but they look cool btw, do you get many brats in Osaka? (only like 5 people on this whole forum will understand that question too.)

Thanks for the quick reply... i was just going through my kanji level and realized that they were on a 12x12, though for the katakana 5x5 seems to do fine. Looking at the syllabary in my dictionary, i realized there are actually a bit over 70characters, so i think copyable and not prize bubble is definitely the way to go. When i first read your question, i thought, well...i do teach a lot of kids... i've been away too long. As reply, of the many things the Japanese do well, sausage and bratwurst are not among them...cheese too...they don't really dig on cheese...it can be a tough row to hoe for someone from Mil-town. As for having to make 52 prize bubbles, you can capture all of them at once and put it into one bubble. That's how a good portion of people give away fonts.

Landmark Lanes is still open, yeah? i miss my old job there sometimes. It's funny how I actually ate there a few months back It was nice a really, really nice barish? place. There weren't much people there when i went though >.<
