Well, the Watchmen costumes are coming out soon.
For water pack, just be patient because they have picked some to test it out so that means it will come out soon.

The PS sore is updated every thursday by the way (in England PS store anyway). I think it's the same everywhere.
There will be more coming eventually, hopefully online create soon but the water beta is just getting started really.

I wonder how people enjoyed their games for a longer period 3 years ago, when consoles weren't connected to the internet. How can you possibly enjoy a game without paying every week for trumpery?2009-09-30 23:08:00

hahaha so true. I mean, isn't it sad? But its a dream for big corporations out there. They are slowly making us more and more into consumption machine. The "teach us to pay" more and more so people with money and power can have even more money... and then power. The sad reality of the growing extreme capitalism our society lives in.

Anyhow, at least your post made me laugh.

I remember how... we enjoyed what we had and were thankful for it.

Seriously, in the old days we had attention spans. Todays media is turning society into a bunch of A.D.D. zombies. When I was younger and bought a video game, I had to play it over and over again from back to front for months to get my value out of it.

I just think it's because we have so MANY games out now.
I remember when I was little, there were a handful of games people would play, diablo, C&C, Half Life... but now when you ask someone what their playing they each give you something different!

But why would the number of games you have would influence you? The obsession of playing games right when they release is useless afterall. Also, there's no expiry dates on your games.

No... I still think it's todays generation. I only have 12 to 15 titles for my PS3. It's not about the amount of games available at all, it's about todays twenty-something's and younger not being able to go one day without the comfort of their media driven gadget distractions. Seriously... step on a public bus in any half decent sized city and tell me that 40% of the people that get on aren't wearing an Ipod while playing games or texting someone on their blackberry or mobile. It's getting scary... no one even talks to anyone in public anymore. Video games are just another way to keep people placated in their own little world so they don't know how badly the corrupt governments are pooching them on a regular basis.

Don't get me wrong... I love video games and media gadgets just as much as the next person, but I don't let it control things in my life, I stay informed and up to date on current events, and I still have my patience fully intact.

Because there might be a even BETTER game than the one you're playing!!

Or atleast that's how i take it.
I have around 10 PC games which I've only played like 2 hours into each. Their all good games... but I think there could be something better.
I also have like 5 other games on my shelf that I haven't even installed yet.
I just haven't gotten around to playing them, and they kinda got old now >.< (one of them is 5 years old!)

But I do agree with finishing a game when it's released.... I really see no point in that, unless they just couldn't put the game down because it was just that awesome.
I just finished a game I spend a year on playing, and it appears my game hours were only 24! hah, I still had a blast playing that game (nearly cried at the end because it was just such a lovely game )

@ Rustbukkit, I just think technology allowed our generation to do these kinda stuff. It's not like we don't have the patience to just sit down and look into empty space, we just chose to replace that with something more interesting
But I do think it's kinda making people anti-social, and it's sometimes rude.
You try and start a conversation and if it gets any boring they just put on their head phones. Also people txting people 5 meters away.... wtf?

There were just as many games released 10 years ago and people were playing them. I don't know where you've got the "only a handful of games that were played" from - that's a joke, right? I was playing the resident evils, silent hills, legacy of kains, ratchet and clanks, time crises, etc. on my PS2, and Unreal tournament and Quake on the PC, some of my friends were playing C&C and warcraft and PES and GTA and ... do I need to go on? I stillplay games that are 10 (and more years old). They are no worse than they were back then.

No, Rustbukkit is right, people of my age and below are incapable of seeing the worth in something that isn't bleeding edge and it really is kinda sad, this obsession with the new.

Especially in a game like LBP where the onus is on you to create the new content, people still expect (and even need) to be spoon fed by publishers with new "content", regardless of how mundane said content is. LBP, as other's have said, has new content daily, which is arguably more interesting than the sticker packs we pay for, so why doesn't that count? So blind is this consumerism that the content has to come from a recognised source and has to be bought, or at least obtained, in a store. LBP give us the gift of self-expression within a videogame, to a level never before seen. The sheer wonder of that alone will not wear thin on me for many years.

Anyway, I'm bored of typing now, I'm gonna stop. There haven't been any new letters on my keyboard in ages, which must mean there is nothing more to say...

I was actually referring to how easy it is to obtain games now. So you don't have to play one specific game just because you don't have money to buy a new one.
Games do not get worse over time, but they do get dated. The amount of hype, and new ideas could have made the game a huge success when it was released but would prove boring for a new player now because all of these new ideas have been modified into newer games and almost all hype would be gone.

And.... bah! Screw it! It's so hard to defend my generation >.<
We do have good parts too!

You have to bear in mind that those of us saying this, weren't limited by that several years ago. If I go back 8 years, I could afford to buy whatever games I wanted then too, it makes no odds to me. It's been a long time since I couldn't buy new games on a whim. But just because I can, doesn't mean I ever feel compelled to. It's that difference that seems to be abundant in people of my generation and below (I'm in my mid 20s, so I do fall into the generation we are talking about here), the obsession with new things and the hype.

A lot of the older titles on my shelf are far better games than the latest releases, regardless of age - very few original titles are being made now anyway.

You would probably think so because you've already played those games. Where as a new player that has NEVER played the game before might think of it as a downgraded version of another game that was released recently. Where as they might of thought differently if they played it when the game was released.

You also got to take into consideration of how easier it is to obtain new items now.
You're pretty much a few clicks away from something new in the PSN, and can start using it straight away.
Where as before you actually had to go out to the shop, buy it and bring it home to play.

(I agree on the originality of games though. But you can also blame the gaming community for that as well... but that's a different story.)

I still buy older games that I've never played before, so it's not just nostalgia.

And your "have to walk into town" argument just goes to prove Rustbukkit's thoughts on attention span and patience. I wouldn't ever consider the walk into town to be a significant factor in anything. The difference between having something in 5 minutes vs having it in 1 hour makes no odds to me. Unless it's lunch, then those 55 minutes are significant

It's all about obsessive consumerism and materialism, combined with short attention spans and limited patience. You haven't actually put any arguments against these things, you've just said "it's easy to do it"...

I wonder what would happen to peoples health once you can print out food off the interwebs and eat it.....

I wouldn't call it patience though, more like lazy.
Also with LPB. Rather than spending a few hours trying to look for a level you really like, most people would rather wait and play survival levels while MM get something new ready. Not impatient or short attention span... just lazy. Thanks to technology (probably...).

Exactly!

I keep expecting someone to pull the curtain out of the way and find Steve Balmer hiding behind it trying to add SOME kind of negativity to the most creative gaming experience ever created.

My son says "I'm bored" and I tell him "If you're bored, it's YOUR fault. Look around you and find something to do."

Good grief, if Media Molecule didn't add ANY new features what they've done already is enough to stimulate a creative person for the next several years.

But yep, I'd take this game with no bonus content (leave in the bug fixes though please, those have been invaluable) over pretty much any game going.

Give 'em time to get some stuff done lol. Just because you are used to having it regularly doesn't mean it's easy. And if they have something big on the way, which we know they do, then they might want to give it a while before giving us it.2009-10-01 17:33:00

I'm playing even more games now than when I was a kid afterall. There's also alot more games but it's not about trying them all so I don't understand the pressure of playing less of one game or quit it to play a new game. If you realise halfway that a game could be better, to me it means you shouldn't have lost your time with that game to begin with! Get more picky, shop more before buying. Buy less but better games. You don't have game time for lesser products after all.

Sorry, but you're overthinking my name.... Cubbage is just a silly name. Rhymes with Cabbage. Unfortunately, it's my real name so therefore really has no impact on my personality.

But, you may be right about rtm.... I mean, what else could "rtm" stand for? I'm just trying to figure out what the 223 means... I already understand the binary digits. Although there are 12 binary digits, which seems a bit odd. Shouldn't there be 16? Maybe it's a sign of imbalance.

I think he's just lashing out because I found your comment funnier.

But, yes - I probably took a silly name like "Cabbage" and made it even SILLIER with Cubbage so that everyone would make fun of "Cubbage" sounding like "Cabbage" instead of just feeling sorry for me that my name is "Cabbage"....

Funny thing is, I had to find a wife who had a sillier name than me so that when she took on my name she wouldn't be more self-conscious....
