The Code

The kids won't let you pass unless you enter the code. It's up to you to figure it out. This level is loosely based off of The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask.
all
The part of the game this is based off is the part where you have to chase the kids to get the code to go to the laboratory. But, I don't have the creative skills to create the laboratory part.

Here are some screenshots:

some of the screenshots aren't up to date, so I didn't put all of them.

Theres also a boss.
I don't have any of the good DLC, so I can't stress enough how easy the boss is.

Ok here I am to return some Feedback.

Pros:

-Original Idea, I like it, quite fun.
-Cool code system

Cons:

-Aesthics in this level are very poor. I recommend you dont put your level on the ground, it looks really bad. Try to float your level in the sky and create your own scenery.
-I dont like the "now you have to die in order to progess" set up. Its just not a good idea, maybe just make the area a lift.
-The path to number 5 is annoying, either remove the knives or remove the electricity, dont keep em together.
-Try to have everything in your level be connected through scenery, your level is just a bunch of random sponge platforms.
-The end has no scenery and no story line, the door just opens and "here comes some random boss"...doesnt make much sense.

I have to stress that you add scenery to this level, its just a bunch of random platforms and walls.

:star::star: This level desperately needs scenery

Hi manny!

One thing you need to know about putting your levels here on the Showcase is that members will give you frank and honest feedback. And everyone is entitled to their opinion.

However, in MY opinion, the feedback offered should be given fairly and to offer you encouragement, NOT to put you off from submitting them!

I've just played this level, and there are some good ideas in it. There's nothing wrong with using Mm backgrounds or building your level on the floor. There's nothing wrong with using materials that came with the original game. Your code numbers are great, and your use of lights is good, too.

I had a small problem - after going up the semi-circle grab lift, you come to child number 2 and you need to die because the checkpoint moves. What I did was fall off the diagonally-moving rectangular lift, but the yellow sponge mechanism didn't respawn so I had to start again. No biggie, but you may want to emit another one when the original disappears.

There are some tricky bits involved, but overall I had fun.

More importantly, not everyone will like your stuff, but I hope it won't put you off from creating more.

Well done.

Hello there !

I liked the concept of the code myself as well.

Like stated above, you don't have to be an artist to create a good playable level which everyone can enjoy

placing your level on the ground really is not much of an issue to me, but what you can do to make it more aesthetic:

take the green material (used for grass) or the light green material and put a thick layer on the ground floor and then built the first part of your level on that.

If you ever want to try and create the laboratory, use stone or metal as thick layer for you to walk on and place your objects on.

Then just simply add some scenery, walls etc... A good tip and one that helps me alot when I'm struggling how to create something or what to put in a level is ... go to google and type in a keyword for your level and search pictures. You will then find pictures of objects and t hus you have an example of what to create and you can try to rebuilt it

Let's say I wanted to create a western level and didn't know how a bank looked back then? Well, I simply look up bank in the wild west on google pictures search and find plenty of perfect examples.

Also, remember to make sure switches are invisble (you can turn those invisible by going to their respective menus and selectin visible: NO)

For your next level, try building a basic level around a theme. I'm really curious how you will pull that off :-)

remember: you learn a lot every time you make a level, I made around 20 levels so far and only the 3 last of them are really good so don't let your hopes down. I'm sure by practicing you'll be able to make very good levels as well :-)

I hope this advice has been helpful

Feedback for feedback please, try one of my subject levels, thanks !
