Halpz!! Publishing Locked Levels.

Archive: 9 posts

Okay folks... here's my problem.

About two months ago I began getting the "Your profile is too large, try deleting... blah blah blah" message. At the time I had 16 costumes saved, three or four personal objects, 3 personal stickers, and about a dozen community stickers. My moon had six levels in progress saved to it. I published two levels locked, and deleted all objects and all stickers but three of which I needed in order to free up some space.

This worked for about a week then suddenly the message started popping up with increasing regularity, so I deleted all my stickers hoping this would free up more space.... yeah right!

So now here I am with no stickers, no community objects, and no personal objects. I can't save any objects or stickers without getting this stupid message. I'm now down to 13 costumes, and would rather not delete them as I really like all of them.

My moon currently has 5 levels in various stages. One is 3/4 full on thermo, another is 1/2 full, two are 1/4 full, and the last is almost full.

It seems that I need to get rid of some levels in hopes that it will free up my profile space (though I'm not holding my breath given the ridiculousness of my situation and how I can't even save a bloody sticker!).

So here's my question... if I publish some (or all but one) of these levels and keep them locked, does that mean that when I re-publish them as playable that they won't ever have a chance of hitting the cool levels page or anyone ever seeing them? (if I should be so lucky as to have people play or like them enough).

Although I've already published locked levels in the past to free up space, I don't know if those have already lost their chance at hitting cool levels.

If you've published locked levels and then re-published them as playable... please respond. I'm really not looking for conjecture at this point... only responses from those who've done this are appreciated.

Thanks

published as locked, then publish in a new space when you want to unlock it and delete the locked one2009-09-27 20:39:00

Just delete the old version off your online levels when you're ready to publish the finished version, and it'll count as a new level.2009-09-27 20:39:00

Okay... I'll try that when it comes time Ard. Thanks. I just need to make sure there is a way to ensure they show up as new levels before I publish them locked and delete them off my moon.

Cheerz!

You don't have to delete the old one first, just publish it in a new location. Then, delete the old one.2009-09-27 20:43:00

Yes, all the above advice is correct - I publish locked as a backup for all my levels, then simply publish in a new slot when it's finished.

If you want a further failsafe, set up a new PSN account, publish your levels locked and copyable, send your new PSN a key and copy it down again! Voila, two backups!

I don't know why, but it seems like different people get more profile space than others...

I have about 20 levels. (Not all filled, but at least 6 full levels worth...)

10 Community stickers.

20 costumes.

7 PSEye Photos.

10 In-game photos.

20 MY OBJECTS.

3 COMMUNITY OBJECTS.

I've heard that hearted levels take up space, but I don't believe it. I have 8 pages of hearted levels...

EDIT: Oh, and just hang in there until Leerdammer! (250X Profile space update! Whoo!)

It does seem that way doesn't it? I used to be able to have tons of stuff in my profile... like you. It's as if time goes by and my space is reduced gradually without any reason.

You never need to delete the old one. You could publish the same level on 20 different spots on your planet and they would all count for the cool pages.

The only time a level doesn't count for the cool pages is after 7 days since its first publication ON THE SAME SPOT.
