What is the Best looking story level

Archive: 66 posts

It doesn't have to be the best level. Throw gameplay out of the window for a second. What is the most visually appealing media molecule level out there. I'd love to see what most people think.
For me it is probably Serpent Shrine from my memory. What's yours?

I think it's the first level in the Gardens, and the worst would be that survival challenge in the Wilderness, I think it's called "Rotor Tubes".2009-09-27 18:42:00

Terrible Oni's Volcano is pretty good-looking, I think. Best would probably be the first Islands level, forget the name. It really pulls of the dojo-esque atmosphere really well.2009-09-27 22:31:00

How can you like the visuals of the Elephant Temple? It uses only two materials and no stickers or decorations.

I have to say Meerkat is the best looking.

I think the Swinging Safari one is the best. But then again I love the color orange. The giraffes are just so cool.
It's also the one that relaxes me the most because of the totally cool African music. I forget what it's called.

I know the one thanatos, it's called.... it's called... I forgot too! : (

I personally like the Dancers Court and some parts of The Frozen Tundra, although i've seen LBPC people make better Ice-themed levels.

I guess it really depends on who you are. Many people will like the same levels, but probably not for the same reasons...

I really enjoyed the futuristic feel of The Collector. A cliche, yes, seeing as it's the final boss, but I really enjoyed the detail put into it. Next to that, it would be The Serpent Shrine and the stage with all the mines. 2009-10-04 03:46:00

This is hard, they all look fantastic! I guess I do quite like the look of The Magicians Palace I quite enjoy all the moody colours of that level like the purple and the blue. That level only stands out a tiny bit to me though. 2009-10-04 19:54:00

I don't know if I'm allowed o say this, but my favorite were the MGS pack levels. All of them showed a great eye for what materials go together. (Except the VR ones. Don't like them.) My favorite regular story ones are the gardens.2009-10-17 20:59:00

Yes all the downloadable content levels count too.
I think the best mgs level was Act 3- The Mission.
All the middle eastern ruins was done perfectly by the mm guys and or girls.
I did like VR Training though because I like the way it looks if you look around your screen a bit.

I loved the look of the gardens levels, the visuals in those levels were absolute eye candy. When I think little big planet, I think of the gardens. A good variety of stickers and materials are used, providing some diversity that is absent on some other themed levels in the story. The savanna and canyons visuals were great also, but the gardens just has that flare that makes it my favorite theme. (Visuals wise! )2009-12-01 04:56:00

The gardens are a bit under decorated, deliberatly I think, to not overwhelm new players instantly and to try and to instill the ethos of 'I could make this'.

I think the levels don't start getting pretty until The Burning Forest but the pique of perty for me will probably be The Dancers Court.

EDIT: Or Boom Town *drools*

I've posted in this thread before, but opinions change.

1. The first Metropolis level, "Lowrider".
2. The second, "Get A Grip", or third, "Skate to Victory" level of the Gardens.
3. The Monster Pack, but I'm not so sure about that one.

Looking back it's kinda hard to tell, almost all the Story levels are a bit outdated. If I had to pick, it would probably be the Magician's Palace, and even then it would have lots of competition from many community levels.2009-12-10 04:07:00

Serpent Shrine was beautiful, as were all the Savannah levels.

However, all the Temple levels were stunning. All the motion and characters that made up the levels were amazing and the mechanics behind all the puzzles didn't only make for a visually amazing section, it was also really fun to play.

Speaking of which, I played an incredible level that was very like The Magician's Palace in style, but I think it was an overall better level, if slightly more difficult.
By A creator called.... can't remember. I'll edit tomorrow and You all should check it out. It has very few plays.

Also glad to see a thread of mine going somewhere

I can't choose, but you know LBP should be an awareness for an ad to save the Earth or something because every time I finish story mode, I couldn't stop but think that people out there are destroying our one and only home.2009-12-21 04:50:00
