Lego Bricks! Now With Video!
Archive: 43 posts
I just created some Lego bricks that really snap together, and you can build creations with them! I'm going to add them to a level soon, and update the level with new bricks and colors. Any new types of bricks that you request I will create and add. I *may* add minifigures. The bricks come in about 5 colors, and come in 1 stud, 2 stud, 3 stud, 4 stud, 6 stud, 8 stud, 10 stud, and I'll probably do a 12 stud one soon. This is what you will receive in my level (in a prize bubble). To find the level containing the bricks, search @Sunrise-Moon or search for "The Lego Brick V1.1". Interesting...letting the player use them in the level to 'create' while they play...**** it, I need to stop getting new ideas for new levels. | 2009-09-27 13:08:00 Author: adlingtont Posts: 321 |
Grr you totally stole my idea No, seriously, a while back i built something just like this, you put the "legos" into a frame to keep it from sliding on the ground. There was 99 of each of the 6 blocks, a block remover (just two wood strips on pistons in a separate area), and a wiper removing every block you had used. I didn't think it was good, so i deleted it... But anyways, I can't wait to see this, I may have fun building stuff with my friends. It could be the new online create | 2009-09-27 16:01:00 Author: goldenclaw13 Posts: 224 |
@Goldenclaw13: The frame idea sounds cool, but wouldn't you basically be just filling in a grid? I like the block remover idea, though I don't plan to use this in play mode, so you can just delete blocks lol. @Adlingtont: You just gave me an idea too! | 2009-09-27 17:59:00 Author: Sunrise_Moon Posts: 469 |
With the frame, you don't have to worry about the blocks sliding all over the place while you are working, much like real create mode. And for mine you would have an emitter emit a new piece when you took one, so I needed the individual destroyer to help me clear up space. | 2009-09-28 02:58:00 Author: goldenclaw13 Posts: 224 |

This is awesome! I can't wait to see what everyone comes up with using your legos concept. maybe you can make a new set with 1 side being curved, like some of the real legos? | 2009-09-30 01:11:00 Author: manny_wtk Posts: 127 |
Thanks! That's what I was planning on doing, a slanted stud. | 2009-09-30 15:50:00 Author: Sunrise_Moon Posts: 469 |

Only when they are enlarged. If you use the size I gave you should have no problems. | 2009-10-02 15:21:00 Author: Sunrise_Moon Posts: 469 |

I didn't steal any ideas. I decided to make the bricks when I was bored one day. It was after I had finished them that I looked it up in the community to see if anyone else had had the idea. | 2009-10-07 03:12:00 Author: Sunrise_Moon Posts: 469 |

nice, i liked the video do you have plans for making a full lego level. | 2009-10-07 15:27:00 Author: deboerdave Posts: 384 |
No, it takes up too much thermo for a full level. | 2009-10-07 15:29:00 Author: Sunrise_Moon Posts: 469 |
No, it takes up too much thermo for a full level. Man, if only those bricks take up so much thermo, I'd be scared to think of how much thermo my real life collection takes up! XD | 2009-10-07 15:36:00 Author: FULLGORR Posts: 245 |
Oh dude so not cool totally took my idea in every way t-t You invented lego? | 2009-10-07 15:44:00 Author: rtm223 Posts: 6497 |
No, I didn't invent Lego, Mr. Ole Kirk Christiansen did. I just made something that looked almost exactly like this about a year ago. Although I guess you get credit for this one, Sunrise xD *Races off to LBP to brainstorm on 'the next greatest thing'* Mwuhahahaha, I have an idea, and nobody shall know it ^,^ | 2009-10-07 16:29:00 Author: Sackwise Posts: 305 |
Ahhh.... The only problem is the studs are hard to walk on. If you somehow made it with just the unwalkable layers for studs we would live in happiness and harmony! Now going to work on something even better... new project! It is..... | 2009-10-08 22:32:00 Author: chezhead Posts: 1063 |
Very cool Idea I will check this out. | 2009-10-08 23:01:00 Author: Mod5.0 Posts: 1576 |
Great work! If they didnt take up so much thermometer space it would be great! | 2009-10-10 13:01:00 Author: Matimoo Posts: 1027 |
It's really cool and well done! but if we can't use them as it takes to much thermo... For a Lego style level, why don't just use regular rectangle shapes, glued together, and for the visible pieces on top keeping the Lego blocks. That would save a lot of thermo | 2009-10-10 15:08:00 Author: dajdaj03 Posts: 1486 |

For a Lego style level, why don't just use regular rectangle shapes, glued together, and for the visible pieces on top keeping the Lego blocks. That would save a lot of thermo Thanks! That's what I was planning on doing in the beginning for the showcase level, but then I decided it would be cooler to have a short level built from the Lego bricks than hardly a level at all but still long. Anyways, here are some easy ways to still save thermo with the bricks. 1. Glue all bricks you are going to use together. 2. Attach dark matter to the bricks you glued. 3. Only make small creations for the end of a level. There are more, but I don't know them | 2009-10-10 17:14:00 Author: Sunrise_Moon Posts: 469 |
hey man I haven't been on in forever (PSN or LBPC) and I'm not sure, I saw this when I was wasting time at school, and decided to come home and check it out. Is there a problem with the search @ command now or somthing? I tried to search for your name, and all that came up was the "Weight Switch Tutorial" am I missing somthing? | 2009-10-13 01:50:00 Author: Madafaku Posts: 738 |
Yea, big problem with the search feature. Some levels don't show up D: . Anyway, just click on the weight switch tutorial, and then click on my name and the level will be there. I'm glad to see this peeked your interest and hope you have fun with the bricks | 2009-10-13 02:18:00 Author: Sunrise_Moon Posts: 469 |
