An LBP Holiday!

Archive: 13 posts

Hey everyone - just got back from holiday!

Wow, I thought I was going to have a break from LBP but things turned out a bit differently!

Tanuki75 didn't live too far away from where I was staying, so I took the plunge and arranged to meet him in REAL LIFE! OMG! It was brilliant! Sunshine, a few beers, and loads of chat about all things LBP. There's really not very many creators who are as fun and 'out there' as Tanuki75's levels, and it was brilliant (and a bit surreal!) to actually see how he builds his stuff. Fantastic! More importantly though, it was brilliant to actually meet him in person! Lovely person.

And on the way back home today, it was only a short diversion to go to the home town of johnee, so I arranged to meet him too! Absolutely cool! We downed a few cold ones, though I didn't get to talk much as SpookyBuz and johnee were just jabbering about pistons and stuff! lol! But a good time was had by all!

So, I'm just gonna be catching up on all that's happened over the past week on here, but big thanks and hugs to both Tanuki75 and johnee for making my holiday that little bit more special!

What a great community! Good to be back

Hi MrsSB, lovely to have you back.
Glad you had such a good time and wasn't it great that you met your pals whilst you were there.

/imagines conversation in pub

"Well, if you attach the switch to the brain..."
"Ah, but if we place a few bombs around him..."
"Yeah, that would work, but it would be a bit messy."
"Hmm, you are right. Maybe we should just fill the room with gas."
"That sound good. Just have to make sure you can't hear the flies"

It was, Coxy. It was such a relief to know there are nice people out there in real life. There's lots of talk about the not-so-nice people on LBP, but I was so happy to finally meet two of the nicest people, and to just chat face to face as though we were in a pod!

Yes, there are nasty specimens about in the community, but the good 'uns far outweigh the bad.

Two interesting things I learned:

1. Tanuki75 is the best Salsa dancer I've ever met!
2. johnee has seriously nearly died over a dozen times!

Great holiday - one of the best!

Yeh MrsBuzz you got in the levels of the month section in play mag UK issue 183. Congratulations

Also.. I would really love to meet my friends from England And America (and wherever else) but I am not outgoing enough to ever do it. I'm sure you had a great time. Now go make me a level!

Oooh, cool! Thanks for that - I'll check it out!

And believe me, when it comes to real life, I'm not the most confident of people either (it took me 4 weeks of lurking before I joined here!). But I bit the bullet and was really glad I did.

It's important to say that if anyone wants to meet someone from LBP in real life, be sure you know who you're meeting and if you're not sure, go with a friend or family member. Make sure you're happy with arrangements, too.

Good advice! Better to be safe then wind up falling prey to this guy. YouTube - It puts the lotion on it's skin

It's always interesting meeting people from forums in real life isn't it? I once met a great gal from one of the paintball websites I belong to and we're friends to this very day (in fact she's coming over tonight for popcorn n' movies).

I also had the pleasure of meeting Thegide from here on the forum... very nice guy and a great builder too. Come to think of it, I should call him up for beerz like I promised a while back... seeing as he seems to be missing from the forums the last few months.

Anyways... I'm really glad to hear that you had such a great time on vacation and meeting with fellow sacklings in real life.
