Collidable Chat Boxes

Archive: 7 posts

I've found it quite annoying how text boxes can be overlapped, making it impossible or you to read any text behind it. So I thought what would be handy, is if the text boxes collided with one another, and so they would never be hidden.

Or, have the X button just remove the farthest forward text box so you can see whats behind it, but by the time you've read one, the other will just dissapear.

OR have a chat log that keeps a record of everything that's been typed. This could be brought up by pressing R3 - maybe?2009-09-26 21:36:00

Well I think they should be placed so that if there are two messages from one person, they still have a time of dissapearence, but they don't overlap, instead they move apart so you can see both until one or both disappear.2009-09-26 22:52:00

If any of you have seen IMVU something like that would be good. The speech bubbles move out of the way of each other and as one person says more things their bubbles move higher still connected to each other though, and disappear after time or if their is a high number of bubbles said by that one person.2009-09-27 19:28:00

You can trigger speech bubbles with a prox switch, connecting the wires to the mouths in the order you want them to appear. This will allow the player to read all the text again and again, in it's original order.2009-09-28 11:02:00

He's talking about multiplayer chat boxes. I know, I thought the same thing at first. It took reading a couple of responses for it to register...
