10'000 plays in one night, and the level ISN'T in cool levels page one!

| Hellooow everybody... Well... this morning, I wanted to play LBP a lil bit. When i checked my levels to see how many ppl played them, i saw that "A Long Way 2" had 10'000 (!!!) playz more than yesterday... AND ONLY 100 HEARTS MORE THAN YESTERDAY! This story iz so weird, coz i figured out that the level iz having 5 more plays every SECOND and 1 heart (or less...) evey hour. I tried to lock the level to stop this disaster but there iz nothing to do. Playz are keepz going up every seceond... To me, this iz just some stoopid kidz or haterz that are restarting the lvl again and again just to annoy me... and they are doing their job well coz im really disapointed... | You are not on cool pages because the level is over a week old. You have 60,000 plays and a 1:6 hearts to plays ratio. I put it to you that the majority of your plays are repeat plays from people who have already played and hearted your level. It's not possible to maintain a high play rate and high number of hearts because your number of plays from unique players has to slow down. | Alright, I'm not getting the point of this thread. Your situation seems to be the opposite of a problem. Traffic to your level and hearts = GOOD. Anything in the range of 1:1 to 1:10 hearts to play ratio is good. You have to recognize that this level is showing more success than many of the levels out there. Have you ever heard the expression, "Don't look a gift horse in the mouth"? | 10,000 plays divided by 24 hours, divided by 60 minutes to an hour, gives you just under 7 plays a minute. If your level is conducive to restarting, a couple of players can easily generate 7 plays a minute. If you've got more than that, it will go up faster. | And also, as I said. Once you reach this many plays, you can't expect the hearts to keep on going up. You have made a level that a lot of kids will play over and over again. funky contraptions and little races appeal to them - you will get a lot of plays from the same people. They can't heart more than once so your hearts : plays ratio will go down. Significantly. I really don't understand how you can be upset about a level that is doing this well. | Yeah sure there's no reason to complain as it's a good thing for you , but I understand that 10.000 plays in one night seems very strange and unusual. As I never saw more than 9000/10000 players connected at the same time on the online, does it means that every single player connected that night played your level..? | Look RTM is right if people are liking your level thats great, But people can only heart levels once. You must remember that there are over 1 million levels out the, some creators would kill to have these numbers and you are complaining. Its nothing to get in an argument about though. | I feel for you lil-klash. I absolutely hate receiving exorbitant amounts of plays and exposure for my levels. And only 50 extra hearts on top of the 10,000+ you already have? Ridiculous. We can only hope for the best. [/sarcasm] Honestly, if I received a random burst of extreme attention, I wouldn't complain about it, if that's what's going on here. If it is a rare, random bug, it's still giving you more attention and from what I can decipher from this thread, you are still on Page One of the Highest Rated section. Does it really matter if your hearts aren't increasing as fast as your plays? Most people won't discriminate a level based on it's heart to play ration when it has 10,000+ hearts, because a logically thinking person will realize that's way too many hearts for it to be a bad level. | I am trying to understand this here and from what I see there really isn't an issue. I understand that the OP is just trying to say this is unusual to him, but at the same time there is still no real way for us to help. I am sorry, but there is nothing we can really do. Thank you for letting us know smothing happened, but perhaps if you are worried about this you should bring it up with MM. Another thing, did you guys know that klash creates other accounts in order to heart his levels, I found this out yesterday when someone posted a comment on his newest level. On Topic: This "plays" bug is real... It happened to that ArtofTyler guy with his Dinosaurs level. But it affected him even more because his level got +170,000 plays. I did this, CCubbage does too as do several other well respected and skilled creators on this site - also to add a slightly firmer rating on launch as well as the extra hearts. Launch strategies are a necessary evil in LBP, especially to those of us who don't aim at the mainstream.
