So I was watching all of these video clips and reviews on youtube when my wife came up with an idea: we could do that too!

So we are. We are doing video reviews of community episodes.

New episode every Tuesday and Friday 9pm (Pacific Time)



Episode 5: Ghost of Sparta - Chapter One - Review of Kn0cked-0ut's level. YouTube - PB and K Show- Episode 5: Ghost of Sparta - Chapter One This episode features the first level in an upcoming series of levels based on the world of God of War: Ghost of Sparta. Created by Kn0cked-0ut, this level sticks true to its theme with magical spells, ferocious monsters, and lots and LOTS of places to die. While the theme was very consistent and the boss fights were brilliant and challenging, the reward to challenge ratio was really low and the majority of the level seemed ill paced. So we chose to give this level 3 stars (* * *) and rate it as hard in difficulty. Fans of the God of War series will probably rate higher. Only for those that thrive on challenges, and only suited for 1 player play.
Episode 6: GROW-Garden - Review of KillerTerek's level. [url="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mj7_94Nj3Z8"]While we've not yet played any of the apparently popular GROW series of flash games, but this parody LBP level was lots of fun. Created by KillerTerek, this level may be quick but it has lots of replay value. If you like creative puzzles or you just want to have some quick fun, then this level is for you. We chose to give this level 4 stars (* * * *) and rate it as an easy difficulty. Good for multiple players (if they are all cooperative).
Episode 7: SIREN 2-Otherside - Review of Exalted_Yawn's level. [url="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ss0zAkTRJk"]We've been doing alot of puzzle level reviews lately but not one of them have been boring, and Otherside just might be the funnest (and spookiest) one yet. The second level in a series created by Exalted_Yawn, this level drops you right into the middle of a story where you may have no idea what's going on but you want out. We were really impressed by the creativity of the author, as well as the time he put into this level, so we chose to give this level 5 stars (* * * * *) and rate it as an medium difficulty. Good for any number of players.
Episode 8: Dead Ocean - Review of freddykrugerfred's level. [url="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mx6lTgSeSv8"]YouTube - PB and K Show[url] This episode features another horror level, which is appropriate for this time of year. Created by freddykrugerfred, this level drops you right into the middle of a zombie-infested boat where the objective is to get off almost as soon as you get on. There were a lot of issues at first, but the author fixed a lot of them per our request, so we chose to give this level 3 stars (* * *) and rate it as an easy difficulty. Fairly good for any number of players.
Episode 9: Pale- Review of bonner123's level. YouTube - PB and K Show- Episode 9: Pale PB has really been looking forward to playing a level that a girl will enjoy, and Pale did not let her down. Created by bonner123, this level may seem to have a simple design with few colors or shapes, but you will be amazed with how much the creator is able to do with it. There are a lot of challenges, and even more secret bubbles. All in all we chose to give this level the full 5 stars (* * * * *) and rate it as an medium difficulty. A good level for any number of players.

If you would like us to review your level then post a reply here with your psn and level name. You can only have one level submitted at a time. If you want us to do more then one level in our show you have to wait until after the first episode featuring your show is released before you can request another review (remakes of the same level will be covered in special episodes only). Also reviews of different levels from the same author will be spaced out by several episodes, so don't be surprised if you are asking for a second review and someone who asks for their first review later that day gets a spot before you. ( :kz:

You can also go and leave a comment on our youtube site (see any of the levels listed above) with the same info as mentioned earlier. Hopefully it will be a fun way for you to see videos of people playing your levels and an insight to what you did great and how you can improve.

Just a general warning: we will be nice but honest, and we will be doing levels with 2 players at the same time.:arg:

Quick update. ARD's level, though amazing, has a glitch that my wife and I keep getting stuck on. So rather then take a star from the rating for it we are giving ARD a chance to look into it. ARD's level will be given top priority as soon as we have been informed that the glitch has been fixed, but until we are informed we will continue to review the next level posted and so on. That's the fairest way I've come up to deal with this situation, and it will probably be the rule for all glitched levels we come across.

Since ARD has already informed me that he will not be able to check on the glitch until tomorrow we are going to go ahead and move on to the next two levels posted. That means Coxy224's level is going to join LittleBigSackBoy's level as one of the two we are reviewing and posting tonight. Woo hoo! First 2 episodes are up and running, plus we have 3 more levels pending for reviews. Thanks for all the level submissions and feedback everyone. You can watch the episodes on youtube or check the spoiler links in the first post of this thread (I put them in spoilers so the first post wouldn't be enormous).

ARD's level is up and running beautifully, so we will be featuring Escape from the Underground Temple of Destiny in our third episode. I also received a request from Trindall dated before Kn0cked-0ut's request, so Lightbringer will be the level reviewed in episode 4 and Ghost of Sparta - Chapter One will be featured in episode 5.

Those of you that have submitted 2 levels for consideration, pick one you want us to review or we will just pick our favorite. Those of you whose levels we already featured that are asking for a new level to review, sorry. Plans may change as we get more support (or perhaps more time), but for now its 1 per customer.

On the other hand, if we have featured your level on our show and you make some modifications to THAT level then please let us know. We are already planning a recap episode, and your rating will most likely go up. Plus we are always glad to play fun levels over and over again.

Now the good news. Episode 3 is up! You can see it in the first post or on our youtube spot. We plan on doing at least one more level tomorrow (hopefully more). After that, we are talking about a weekly schedule so that people will know when to expect new episodes. I wish we had time to do one new episode each night.

Hi all. Here are the new updates for the show.

#1. Episode 4 is out, and Episode 5 will be up on the site within the hour. Long episodes (8 min) for long levels, but they were both lots of fun.

#2. We've finally settled on a schedule: 2 episodes a week. See first post for details. We still reserve the right to post more if we so wish.

#3. Change in policy. Rather then limit episodes to 1 per customer, we decided to make it 1 at a time per customer. That way those of you that keep building awesome levels don't have to freak out about which one will be the only one featured on our show, but it still prevents someone from requesting 12 level reviews and hogging 12 episodes in a row. See 1st post for more details. You can thank my wife for this one.

Thanks for the great review Pb and K! I loved watching other people play my level and talk about it. You guys gave alot of good tips and i'll improve the level right away, i'll add some extra portals, new bubble spots, more bubbles, and maybe make the boss fight slightly easier 2009-09-27 08:49:00

I watched through the different episodes that you've put up, quite a lot actually considering how long since you started. Very impressive. I like the format of your show as well as the repartee between the two of you.

Editing is always a godsend for shows of these nature as I've seen some people try to cram an entire level in at the same time they do a show and that can get a bit slow.

Thank you for the review of my level in episode four, I really appreciate hearing the responses and rationale from players.

I can see that the style of level is not one that is high on your list of personal loves but you still cover a wide range of aspects and point out some very good issues. (lack of numerous checkpoints for example.)

I agree very much that the level doesn't accomadate multiple players terribly well though I did do a bit to make sure that nothing breaks or extra players behind if I could get it into the design.

But I put a lot of time into creating cinematic and changing camera zones to help direct the player to different areas which is all completely buggered when you have multiple players running around.

Yes, the level is also a puzzle level at heart and is meant to be a more reflective level that takes place in a stark, empty land. It is very much in league with the other video games of this nature that inspired this level and I can definitely see where it will not appeal to many.

It is a bunch of weeks that I stopped working on my levels due to lack of spare time, but I will be pleased if you could review one of my levels that hasn't been reviewed yet...

In particular I'm asking review for the following:

Level name: Platforms Madness 2 (NORMAL MODE)

I don't remember exactly if I have two or three versions of it still online (EASY - NORMAL and INFINITE LIVES MODE), it would be great if you could play and beat NORMAL, the mode is mentioned after the level name in brakets.

But I got myself a new headset so making my vids is alittle easier.

Anyways, I was trying to decide what level I would submit to you guys and even though my Shy Guy levels were the first choice, I decided to go with something less -copyrighted.
So when ya'll get a chance feel free to take a look at one I made.

Thanks a lot for noticing my corrections, I noticed some mistakes in the level and tried my best to fix them. Very glad you appreciated my extra work. Now my level is indeed a lot less frustrating and more fun

As for the water flowing in the room to get up higher to the stairs, I tried a lot to get that idea working better but it just was too hard so I fixed it in a normal LBP kinda way.

I'm very happy you loved my idea, the problem was that when I used more objects to be emitted so you could get higher the thermometer would explode.

Other option of using a different material to simulate the water just didn't had the realistic water effect which ruined the scene.

As for the secret at the end: to all readers here, Yes there is a big secret with lots of point bubbles!!
It is there but well hidden and you only have 1 chance per playthrough to get there. As soon as you go down at the end to the jet ski with the sponge on the chain, swing to the left immediately and you will be able to jump/land on the platform to the left and get the ponts.

For a conclusion: I loved the review and am happy with the 3 star rating. Thanks once more for your great review !		2009-10-03 22:17:00

I love the whole idea of a gameshow review with 2 hosts and it works really well on screen.

looking forward to seeing the 10th episode

myself, I'm struggling to create a paintgun level full of action.
it seemed easy but it's really not when you try to make it fun for multiple players because you have to make sure things reset and stuff. 		2009-10-07 18:42:00
