There are a number of things that can contribute. Slow internet connections will cause community levels to lag, especially during multi player sessions. Even if your connection is fast it will lag if your friend is slow.

Level content can also cause lags. Of course the closer you get to a full thermometer the more chance you have of a level lagging or even freezing. I have also found that the more emitters you have going at once the more lags you experience.

If none of these apply, then it is possible there is a little sack person with devil horns that has a lag button with your name on it and delights in frustrating you.

lol acctually im not having lag problems(not at the moment anyway) i just want to make a level that lags on 1 player, i kept the idea secret because i thought it was original:blush: the levels are saw with the same concept were really dodgy so ill still go through with the idea(eventually)

You can also have an interactive object overload. That doesn't necessarily translate into thermo. For instance, have you ever gotten a large number of prize bubbles at the same time? The game has a hard time trying to process the physics for a large number interactive objects all being activated at the same time.2009-09-24 19:01:00

Usually things will start to lag when there are a lot of objects on the screen at once. Particularly if physics are involved. You'll probably see a "There is too much complexity in this area of your level" message.2009-09-24 19:36:00

If you lag a level ridiculously beyond the point of no return... don't be suprised if things sink below the floor.2009-09-25 09:42:00

Are you mad ?

You want to make a level lag intentionally ? Lag is THE biggest problem in LBP and needs getting rid of completely. I can only hope that in future you experience the sort of horrendous lag I've been getting on a daily basis since LBP launched and then you'll realise how utterly stupid your idea is.

Ah, so a level for masochists and nihilists? I'll play it.

Lag is funny, especially when the entire level starts to implode.
