Two kinds of Sandpaper

Archive: 5 posts

This is an odd one that I just found out and thought I'd tell you guys...

Select sandpaper (in cardboard) and stick a bit of it in the level...
Then copy it and put it next to the other one...
See the difference?

There's a slight corrugated edge around the second one...
If you go back to sandpaper in the menu and select the material changer and click on the second one you put into the level, it actually changes it back to like the first one is. So it does actually see this 'second sandpaper' as a totally different material.

Hope that makes sense. Give it a go and I'm sure you'll understand.

The same thing kinda happens with cardboard, when it's on a thick layer, it has a rough edge, if it's on the thin layer, it has a smooth edge. Using the material changer on the cardboard that is on the thin layer will give it a rough edge.2009-09-24 02:34:00

I thought that was really odd when I used the material in my newest level.

Shameless plug? Yes. Relevant to the topic? Yes again. It's weird stuff, Jack.
