Hi guys! I can either keep my corel paintshop pro x2 or move onto adobe CS3.... And I need help! Could you help me with which one I should keep or get? Tell me the pros and cons of each?

Look I'm biased, I've used Photoshop since I was taught it in school. I used Paint Shop Pro before that. Photoshop is just so **** full of great features. The one comparative I can give you is from a friend of mine that works on Corel and used to use Photoshop (we went to the same school, she just graduated one year earlier). According to her, you can get much of the same work done on both, but Photoshop allows you to get it done in a more simple way, or allows you to do more. This is just hearsay though, so I recommend you wait for a bit more advice from someone who's used both programs

Like I told you before, we recently started using Corel in school. Photoshop all the way... It's just a bit more logical than Corel, plus I believe you can do more with it... It's more versatile... I could be considered biased though, meh... >_>

Think of it this way. All the art I've submitted, and the themes (so the icons as well) was all done with Photoshop. It's just so easy to use. It took forever to make the icons on my last theme, but that's because I made them from scratch, I can't imagine having done them with anything else, especially all the shadowing... just by merging layers the right way, I could make things on higher layers give off more shadow then lower levels, while keeping less shadow on those lower levels... so in other words, very little effort to make things look like they were one on top of the other! Seriously, we may all be biased, but this is unbiased truth: you can't go wrong with photoshop, period. :arg:

I abstain. GIMP is as good as any image editing program I've ever used - yes, it includes PS and Paintshop - and free.

I've got the full CS3 suite and I don't think I could live without it. I've never used Coral before but just from where I stand, CS3 all the way.
