My friend showed me this site. Basically you can get free stuff for just being there. "Is it a scam?" No it's not. My friend has already gotten the video game Batman: Arkham Asylum and they never asked for money. It is funded by Liberty Media, one of the largest media companies in the US. "How do they make money?" The site is currently in beta and through this PTZ system they have (it's how you get free stuff) they are looking to see what people like best and coming in the fall you'll also be able to buy stuff from the site as well as get free stuff through the PTZ system. "Do they even have anything good?" Yes, yes they do. They have 3 sections for what you can get with your PTZ. Cool Brands which has things such as jewelery, snowboards, paintball guns, ladies bags, sunglasses, and many other items. Electronics which has things such as iPhones, iPods, cameras, video games, and many other electronic items. And then the last section is Experiences where you can use your PTZ to donate to a charity such as The Humane Society. "Ok how do I join?" The site is invite only meaning someone has to invite you to join, that person being me in this case. If you are interested (how can you not be? FREE STUFF!!) you can just post your email in this thread or if you don't want to have your email out in the open you can PM it to me and I will send you an invite (it comes via email). If you have any questions just feel free to ask and I will do my best to answer you efficiently. Note: I asked ConfusedCartman if it was alright to post this before doing so and he said yes. It's not advertising, the site never asks for any personal information or money. | 2009-09-23 04:16:00 Author: ChristmasJew Posts: 431 |

How do you get onto it once you've signed up? I just get a blue screen and I don't have any sort of activation e-mail from after I clicked to join. EDIT: Never mind. I typed 'login' after the adress, there wasn't a page called 'login' but it got me into the site. | 2009-09-23 22:47:00 Author: S-A-S--G-U-N-R Posts: 1606 |
As far as I'm concerned the only reliable site of this type is Swagbucks. | 2009-09-24 00:31:00 Author: Arkei Posts: 1432 |
As far as I'm concerned the only reliable site of this type is Swagbucks. I use Swagbucks and this, I have a friend who I've seen in person with something that they received (an iPod!) from them for nothing. I forget whether you can run out of invites or not, but if you do, people can send them to me and I'll gladly give some. | 2009-09-24 00:32:00 Author: BSprague Posts: 2325 |

Well, the name was Kendrick Tan in the email... Who is Kendrick Tan? D: Apparently they lurk the LBPC Forums and wait for people to reveal their email addresses? That is very strange though. | 2009-09-24 00:42:00 Author: BSprague Posts: 2325 |
So wait, SwagBucks is actually legit? | 2009-09-24 00:48:00 Author: Whalio Cappuccino Posts: 5250 |
So wait, SwagBucks is actually legit? Over the past 6 months, I've managed to get 6 free $5 Amazon gift cards from there, which I have used to buy HDMI cables and a couple other things. It's legitimate. | 2009-09-24 01:06:00 Author: BSprague Posts: 2325 |
Wow, I just noticed that you play a game to get ptz. I thought it just happened over time because in the first few days that didn't show up. I wasn't exactly ready for it though so I didn't get too much. | 2009-09-27 05:53:00 Author: S-A-S--G-U-N-R Posts: 1606 |
So what is this site? A beta testing site or something? I don't get it >.< Nothing is free in this world! Nothing! | 2009-09-27 10:09:00 Author: snowyjoe Posts: 509 |
I still wanna know who invited me O-o. | 2009-09-27 13:17:00 Author: RockSauron Posts: 10882 |
So what is this site? A beta testing site or something? I don't get it >.< Nothing is free in this world! Nothing! Sites don't need your money to make a profit/get what they want out of it. But to just let them answer for you. . There is two answers in their faqs that go in to this, so here you go. "Why is Lockerz giving away prizes at low levels on PTZ Place: First, we just want to thank you for getting involved at the very beginning. You rock. Plus, you?re helping us build the coolest group of brand trendsetters every time you invite friends to Lockerz...but you probably knew that. And finally, we want you to try out the different PTZ levels to get a taste of how everything will work when we go live this fall. This version of the PTZ Place is a test for us to figure out what you like, what we like, and how together we can make Lockerz unbelievable when it officially launches." & "How will Lockerz make money: Starting this fall, you will be able to purchase products at Lockerz. But don't worry, PTZ Place will still be around, with way more prizes and experiences than there are now. Members will be able to earn PTZ every time they buy, watch, play, share, invite friends, or simply show up on Lockerz. PTZ will be redeemable for both products and experiences." And actually a lot of things in life are free, if you have connections. | 2009-09-27 18:18:00 Author: ChristmasJew Posts: 431 |
And actually a lot of things in life are free, if you have connections. Yeah but you got to work for those connections first! Some random stranger on the street doesn't give you a free PS3 | 2009-09-29 02:44:00 Author: snowyjoe Posts: 509 |
I got an invite the other day without seeing this thread first and dismissed it as junk mail. Couple questions: a) Who invited me (assuming it was someone here)? b) I'm always hesitant about entering personal information, and this asks for zip code and more. Can someone fill me in on who's behind this site? Sounds like a neat site, but I don't want my information in some random site's hands (not that having it in amazon or facebook is much better ) | 2009-09-29 03:14:00 Author: hilightnotes Posts: 1230 |
Yeah but you got to work for those connections first! Some random stranger on the street doesn't give you a free PS3 I didn't work for any of my connections, I'm just that awesome. b) I'm always hesitant about entering personal information, and this asks for zip code and more. Can someone fill me in on who's behind this site? Sounds like a neat site, but I don't want my information in some random site's hands (not that having it in amazon or facebook is much better ) It only asks where you live when you get something with your PTZ as they need to know where to ship the item to. Other than that they only ask for your name and email. And nobody's gonna find you by knowing your name and email. | 2009-09-29 03:24:00 Author: ChristmasJew Posts: 431 |
I didn't work for any of my connections, I'm just that awesome. It only asks where you live when you get something with your PTZ as they need to know where to ship the item to. Other than that they only ask for your name and email. And nobody's gonna find you by knowing your name and email. They ask for my name, email, birthday, and zip code. The zip code by itself tells them where I live. And isn't the point of the site to get stuff? You may not have to put in your address right away, but if you want to actually GET anything out of the site, you do. What makes it worse, is that 1) They DON'T ask you for your address right out - but you'll still need to put it in if you want to get anything. That just means that they're leading you in. 2) It's invite only, and you get PTZ by getting other people to join. I was reading up on it a bit, and it seems to me that it isn't something I want to join. One person involved is known as a previous vice president of Amazon, and only the one. They don't give any other information about who runs it, and you have no idea who is getting this information. You get points by getting other people involved and by answering survey questions. Anyways, it sounds neat and maybe it's fine, but I decided not to join, at least not until it's actually out and maybe there will be more information on exactly how safe it is. | 2009-09-29 03:40:00 Author: hilightnotes Posts: 1230 |

What makes it worse, is that 1) They DON'T ask you for your address right out - but you'll still need to put it in if you want to get anything. That just means that they're leading you in. People need to know where they're sending stuff. You really need to stop being so paranoid, no offense. 2) It's invite only, and you get PTZ by getting other people to join. Yea, it's actually a wonderful way to get a lot of people to join and to get a lot of PTZ. Aren't you more motivated to invite people if you're getting something out of it? I know I sure was. I was reading up on it a bit, and it seems to me that it isn't something I want to join. One person involved is known as a previous vice president of Amazon, and only the one. They don't give any other information about who runs it, and you have no idea who is getting this information. You get points by getting other people involved and by answering survey questions. "Lockerz is a real company. It is funded by Liberty Media, one of the largest media companies in the US. The Chief Executive Officer of Lockerz is Kathy Savitt, a former executive at Amazon.com and American Eagle Outfitters." *raises brow* Anyways, it sounds neat and maybe it's fine, but I decided not to join, at least not until it's actually out and maybe there will be more information on exactly how safe it is. It's safe. Like I said my friend has already gotten a few products out of it without spending a dime. Responses in RED. | 2009-09-29 03:50:00 Author: ChristmasJew Posts: 431 |
My point about the address is that they're getting it in the first place. I understand they need it to send stuff to you, and I understand that people have actually gotten stuff from them. That's great. But you're still giving them information. I also get that it's funded by a major corporation. However, that doesn't mean that your information is safe with them. It may seem innocent enough giving your information to them, but take a look at what I found from their privacy policy: "We may share your personal information with third parties that perform data services (e.g. maintenance, backup, analysis, etc.) on our behalf. We may collect and report to third parties (such as content and service providers) aggregated information from our Website. We may collect and report to third parties (such as content and service providers and preferred vendors and business partners) aggregated information from our Website." "We cannot insure that all personal information will never be disclosed in ways not otherwise described herein, and you agree to specifically release us from any liability related in any way to the personal information you provide us." That bolded line really bugs me. I got interested and decided to take a look at amazon's privacy policy to see if that's a common thing to say. I didn't find anything like that. They're basically saying that they're privacy policy isn't necessarily going to be kept. Now, I know I'm going a bit far reading through the privacy policy - I don't usually do that or anything. I also am not saying everyone should stop using this - it's your choice, just like it's my choice, and like I said maybe there isn't really anything bad coming out of using it. But I don't think it's paranoid to be careful about how and where you give out personal information. Not to mention I don't want any more junk mail than I can avoid. My point about the email invite thing, is mostly that for a private beta, they're not trying to keep it very private! When you do a google search on it, you'll find tons of threads on forums basically telling people to just send them their email. They clearly want it to spread, which is perfectly understandable seeing as they're trying to make it popular, but it's a very fishy scheme without a ton of backing. But yeah, like I said, to each his own. I don't have anything against anyone using it I just wanted to give in my two cents on the site. | 2009-09-29 04:24:00 Author: hilightnotes Posts: 1230 |
"We cannot insure that all personal information will never be disclosed in ways not otherwise described herein, and you agree to specifically release us from any liability related in any way to the personal information you provide us." Mmm. Well for me I'm not really worried. They know my name (although you don't have to put your real name, I did). My name is Dylan Martin. I live in Long Island New York. Good luck finding me, because you wont. They know my email. Email is not a big thing for me. If it starts getting a lot of spam, I just make a new email and change what my email is for sites that send me important things. They know my address. I have an alarm system and I live down the block from a 7-11, which there is always at least 1 cop at so if they break in to my house they're much *******ed. So for me, I'm not really worried about people knowing information like that, but I get if you do so I want go on about this. This site doesn't work for me D: Pages don't load, the game doesn't load, it doesn't show me how to get points...D: It's gotta be just because FF can't load the javascript for the game (or whatever browser you're on). It should work just fine on IE, and then when you finish the game on there you can go back to your normal browser. I had the same problem. | 2009-10-01 20:29:00 Author: ChristmasJew Posts: 431 |
