Fantasy Mine Cart

Fed up of playing all those insanely fast rocket roller coasters?

This is an entirely mechanical coaster that takes you on a small trip through a jungle setting.

Its very calm and relaxing, so hop on the train and take it easy for a minute!

felt like i was on a realaxing scenic universal ride

only thing i didnt like was the appearence of the cart

just a block of wood with lights and wheels.

otherwise that was a good combination of relaxing and detailed.

I played this one today a few times and loved it. My initial thought was, "wow, this would be a great addition to a Myst based level" lol The only thing about some of your levels that bothers me is that you put score bubbles in places that are impossible to get to!! Argh! But no worries, I gave you 5 stars, tagged beautiful, and a heart. Nice job!2009-09-23 17:22:00

Wow, that WAS a nice change from the usual PSYCHADELIC COLOURS OH GOD MY EYES roller coaster levels.

I particularly loved the use of sound effects, the subtle use of the layers glitch (which wasn't "holy whoa layers everywhere", just added a nice sense of depth) and the purple lights hovering in the foreground and background. How did you make those?

My only real criticism would be the lack of prizes. You obviously made some cool mechanisms, and it'd be nice to have them as prizes just to see how they work. I understand if you don't want people using them to make copycat levels though.

Also seconding Powershifter's complaint about score bubbles in impossible to reach places... it just bugs my score bubble OCD.

I've never done this F4F thing before, so please tell me if it's not the done thing to just put the link right here in the post. I'd like feedback on Festival of Lights (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=t=16876) if that's okay.

Very nice coaster level!

Calm and relaxing with beautiful and clean visual design!

I enjoyed it, even if it was so calm that I felt that 1 or 2 true speed up section would not be a bad thing...

Anyway very good work!
Wish it was a little longer...

thanks for the feedback.

yeah the level was slightly based on a similar theme to Spire (an age from Myst i made in the Myst finale thats just been published!). I love the little rides you occasionally get in Exile and thought id try and make a similar one with a Myst based theme.

Sorry about the score bubbles i thought it would make the level look deeper, as if there were still undiscovered places! Yeah i'll consider moving them.

Hm, prizes? Im not sure, as i didnt make the track in sections but just in one go... Its nothing too fancy either, tbh! I suppose i could give the train and logic away as a prize. I'll consider it.

And yeah i know, i would have liked a much longer ride... but length ways i ran out of room and didnt really want to make the train run backwards... so i focussed on the details instead. And as for speeding the train up... i dont really want to. I think that we've all seen enough rides that go too fast on lbp.

I really did aim to make a coaster that would be considered 'real' (i.e operates mechanically, rolls under gravity etc) but in a fantasy setting.

I can't seem to find it, I'm guessing you renamed it "Fantasy Mine Ride'?
And I keep getting the "Failed to Load" message.
Reseting my costume helped stop the messages.

I just played the level, it was nice.
I think you could have used more color, maybe color correction would help.
I like how it used normal physics and not super rockets or anything, but it was a bit too slow for me.
That's about it, everything else seemed fine...I gave it 4 stars.

I don't have a F4F level, but it would be nice if you could look at the level in my signature.

Hi Ladylin !

I played your level as a F4F member of this forum and must say you did some things really well. Unfortunately not everything was great, let me tell you what I think:

I LOVED the lift hill scenes, great sound effects and it felt very realistic, Kudos for that

I missed some punch in the level, not enough speed (at least 1 quick descent would have been nice, perhaps at the end?) and I thought you could add some more visual effects.

Normally I wouldn't say this, but I already noticed you are a VERY talented creator, so I expect greatness in every aspect

Nevertheless, great work and looking forward to seeing more of your levels in the future!

For feedback please pick out one of my levels from my subject, I prefer dead ocean, space fortress and boogeyman as they are some of my best levels so far I believe.

thanks !
