This has been bugging me for a while, and for a site that's filled with little kids it just appalls me that the worst words in the English language slip right through lbpc. A lot of bad words slip through if you just add letters at the end. On the other hand, and sorry to break censors, but g.a.y gets censored? In my opinion its not offensive at all. We know what it really means, but most people just use it to mean pointless and stupid. Yet on the other hand, words like "homo", which mean the exact same thing, goes uncensored. This sort of outrages me and I hope its improved in the future.

what!? i feel like an idiot now lol, but im pretty sure if you hide them within words they don't get censored. Huh, but i could swear ive seen those words uncensored before. Maybe it was a long time ago and its been updated by now.

The W, C, and I'm assuming the N word, don't get censored!? This sort of outrages me and I hope its improved in the future. The words have to be added manually to the system in order for them to be censored. We have missed a few and we try to update them whenever we see them crop up. The best thing to do is to report any offending posts. I suggest you, and anyone else who notices any, send Cartman a PM including the exact words you've noticed that have slipped through the filter. You won't get into trouble for reporting them in a PM. On the other hand, and sorry to break censors, but g.a.y gets censored? This certainly shouldn't be censored but has to be because of the offensive manner in which some of the members use it.

In a smaller forum, that approach would work, but with a forum this size we would make no positive headway. It's easier on us to just let the censors handle it and put our efforts into punishing those who deliberately work around the system in order to offend someone. And, by the way, the censors work fine. Yes, you can r3pl4c3 letters with numbers or apply other methods to circumvent the system, but that's a bannable offense anyway, so I see no reason to attempt to block each and every possible variant of an offensive word.

I wish you guys would find a more LBP way to censor words. I wish MM would do this as well. For example: "What the ****?" becomes "What the sack?!?" I really think that, instead of stars, you should replace swear words with the word "sack". COME ON CC!

No, people use it as an insult due to fairly garden-variety homophobia. Being queer is bad--in some places, it's worse than being left-wing--and it's the worst thing you can call someone. Therefore, calling something *** means it's really bad. As a queer person, this sticks ever so slightly in my craw.
