Make a little dark matter rectangular "tube", with a space inside to have a piston and glass block (Change the pistons settings to make the glass block able to move anywhere in the tube, and the faster the piston the faster the platform falls.), put a sensor on the platform, set to direction, attached to the piston pushing the glass block. On the opposite side of the dark matter, put a magnetic key switch, and on the glass block, put a magnetic key (Change the radius of the switch so it only turns on when the glass block is right next to it. Set the magnetic key switch to one-shot, and connect it to the dissolve. Now test it. You should jump on the platform, wait for the time you set, and then it should fall down. And on a side note, it is best to make the dissolve invisible, or put it on a thin layer behind the platform. | 2009-09-22 15:54:00 Author: goldenclaw13 Posts: 224 |

You can also make the platform out of any material, then glue dissolve to DM out of the playing area so it can't be seen and attach a rod from the dissolve to the platform. Make the rod stiff and invisible and connect your switch to the dissolve. It will work exactly the same, but removes the dissolve from the playing area so you don't have to hide it. | 2009-09-24 11:30:00 Author: GruntosUK Posts: 1754 |
Is what I have done for falling platforms: 1) Make a disolve platform that fits in with the rest of the ground region. 2) Cover the disolve platform with a thin layer of whatever the ground is made of. 3) Put panneling infront of the disolve so that it is disguised 4) Put a sensor switch in on that panneling or around it so that it is triggered in a specific spot. It may seem a bit complicated but it really isn't. It disguises the platform very well and then the sensor switch makes it so that you can show exactly where on the platform you want it to disolve. ex. you could put the sensor switch befor the plaform so that when you run over the mark the platform disolves before you arrive. You could put the sensor switch on the front panel that disguises the disolve and makes it blend in to your platform so that when the player runs across the middle of the platform it will disolve. Or you could put the sensor switch on the far side of the disolve material so that it will disolve befor your little sackboy has a chance to jump to the safety of the otherside. Oh the endless possibilities make me love lbp. | 2009-09-24 18:00:00 Author: pm317b Posts: 32 |
